Re: A Meeting of Manly Men

You don't like reading online? :oh

The art is one of the best aspects of the series. The mangaka's style evolves a bit from the beginning, as is common with any series running for that long. It has more life in it than before, imo. Action scenes flow better, especially and captures the "supernatural elements" of the series with better detail.
No. The only Manga I read online completely was Naruto within two days, two years ago. So exhausting... Problem is that reading online makes me tired pretty fast thanks to to the artificial light which also makes me bored for some reason. That is why I buy the Manga volumes I wanna read.

Yeah I looked at some pages from recent chapters. Gotta say my statement was wrong. The art looks amazing. :nod

That's a fair point and commendable too :nod. I think besides Wolf and Cub some of the latter volumes of FMA; everything else that I've bought, I've read online first.

Yep, it really is. I found myself reading some of the last chapters after my previous post. Though Miura is not a personal favourite of mine, but I admire and respect his art as much as Inoue. Vagabond rocks.

My plans are to buy SnK, which finally got a german version, more Magi and Mirai Nikki... Planing to read this thing for years now... :XD
I also own the FMA volumes but the quality of the german volumes is rather bad... That and a totally ridiculous price... <.<

So it still stays on my list. Can't ignore a Manga which was praised by so many people. :D

What thing? Mirai Nikki? I saw the volume cover for SnK 12; I'll absolutely get that as soon as it's released in english.
My FMA was a boxset and around £60-80ish(? I can't remember:blink) and it's top quality.

Well it took me many years to read/watch series that were acclaimed by many friends and members, so take your time.

Yeah Mirai Nikki. I thought I'll read the Manga instead of watching the Anime.
Well volume one gets released in two days. Germany is rather slow... :XD
Here 7,95€*29 me thinks. So quite expensive. Translation and so on is good of course but the publisher usually sells stickers... <.<

Will do so. :blush I think I'll buy the english version of the Manga. I habe absolutely no space for oversized volumes... :XD

Well english releases for most series were quite slow too; only in the last few years that it caught up. I remember when OP 50s volumes were released every month until it caught up. That was awesome. Now I think we're 2-4 volumes behind JP manga volumes.

Oh shit, just checked mine; it was £102; which works out to about £3.8 per volume. So, that's quite a save I guess. :oh But this was 2 years ago.

Seinen volumes are so expensive though :darn and difficult to find if they are older series. Blade of Immortal has been a pain to look for; the first volume was fine, but the subsequent ones were either not available or at a ridiculous price. :bored.

Josef I saw your recent comment at Liar Game and that you haven't been folllowing YJ since the hiatus and Gantz's end... wtf, start reading Tokyo Ghoul and Terra Formars (the better Gantz, in my opinion).

Well it basically the same here. Recent OP volume is 69 here.

Still quite a lot yes, but worth it. One of my all-time favourites. :nod

That depends... Blade of Immortal is really expensive here. 10€ per volume the last time I checked. Liar Game was just 7,50€ which is normal. :nod

Ah yes, same here; vol 70 was released in US on 4th March and will be out in UK on 26th or something like that. I never really paid attention as I always pre-ordered in advance. Wasn't aware there were separate dates for US and UK. :hee

I dunno where I'd rank it to be honest. But it'd be quite high. I only note Vagabond and OP as my favourites.

Yes, it seems to be around £10 and some change. But for some reason, vol 2 is £26. :emocat I don't want to buy out of order, but I'll have to make a decision soon whether to leave vol 2 for now and carry on or simply cough up the money. I can't risk the other volumes getting to that price range. :nah

You also have Liar Game volumes? Actually, tell me what series you have :pleased

Woah, impressive list. Kudos.

I take it you've never read Vagabond either then :XD. Well, I love that period in the history of the country and there's something serene about the way Inoue paints the characters; figuratively and literally. Plus Samurais :zomg.

Thank you. :blush I should rearrange them though... And I need a new cupboard... :XD

Samurai sounds good... :zomg But I think one at a time is enough. :nod

And here I thought you were a big fan :p
That doesn't mean I read everything though. :D The only really old Manga I own is Card Captor Sakura. Although my Dragonball volumes don't look that healthy either...
