Lol. Can't believe Liar really asked the readers in 4th wall break fashion.

Yeah, for some reason William is really suspicious, but I'm afraid if he will become a red herring. The three captains that fought Third Eye could not be excluded, since they could be either captured or killed before the meeting.

Since they usually would go with unfamiliar Black Bull member by each arc, I'd say the team would be Yami, Aster, Noelle and Gordon (the creepy guy back then in magic knight entrance exam).

Anyway, regarding Liar. His imitation magic could copy abilities as well, and so far the magic knights that was shown using disguise magic are the Sorcery Emperor himself or... Gray of the Black Bull. What if the traitor was actually in Black Bull all along? XD

Well, it has to be someone who wore black boots I guess, or not? Just look at the bottom left panel of the third page. This is still Liar's "transformed" form and he wears black boots which seem to reach at least the lower leg. The only one who wears similar boots is William as you can see in the bottom middle panel of the third page as well as in the bottom right panel of the sixth page of the previous chapter. It's also possible that the author didn't put much attention to such details and I'm wrong.

That was a nice catch actually. The author probably showed that panel with liar's boots like that as a hunt. Though, I suppose when liar impersonates, he uses their attire as well. If so, then maybe liar wears these black boots normally but when he was impersonating, the boots were different.

What I am trying to say is that one of the captain is either dead or captured long ago. The person instead of him is Liar. And my guess is that sleeping captain.

Oh, that's an interesting theory. Still, even though liar can impersonate physical look and magic, I doubt he can imitate behavior and mannerisms. If he did kill or capture someone long ago, he'd had to know how they behavior and interact generally as well as with other captains. So normally, he'd have to know how they act or he'd make a blunder. If he's been impersonating for a long time, it's hard to think he actually pull this off without someone notifing something weird or odd about his behavior.

Yeah - I would have to agree with you there. Liar would have to know the person well to pull off copying them. No one found any of the captains behavior suspicious, so that would mean he did a good job, as he said so himself. Though I doubt any of the captains have been killed.

Anyways - I believe they set up Geldor because of the way he treated his subordinates, maybe he had done something unforgivable towards Rades... his eye maybe?? It was fine six years ago from what we've seen.

If you look at the bottom left panel of the fourth page, you can see that his boots - after he took his original form - doesn't match the boots of the previous page.

Maybe - he probably just let Yami know about the Magic Knight Exams, given by Julius' reaction towards Yami; he would have accepted him at the end of the examintion anyways. But there is a chance that Yami has always been a member of Black Bull.

Spoiler: Ch. 57 Thoughts

Seems like a lot of comic relief at first - I was rather confused at the two Asta's for a moment there; thanks Gray. Sekke gets thrown around as usual - poor guy. Then all of their fun is ruined by Yami and are all buried in the sand :'D - reminds me of the 4th chapter when the others are kneeling in front of him when they were being scolded. :L

I wonder if all of them are going on this mission together; if they are that's a rather large group - everyone has there different strengths though I guess...

Just taking a wild guess here and assuming Yami is trying to get Noelle to have better control of her water magic there - from the small training scenes after their talk. As I said earlier - I really do hope she gets a power up during this arc, after what she's been through - she deserves it. (:

I hope netabare updates soon - I would like to know what is going on at the end there.

Yeah, I was thinking the same - but then I remembered something. I made a post a while back mentioning the 4 elemental spirits - Sylph, Salamander, Undine and Gnome
Undine is the water spirit. They are said to usually take the appearance of a woman, and are found near water - and that they have a beautiful singing voice.

Yeah - that's what I was getting at. I really do hope she gets Undine.

I had a feeling he joined Green Mantis - but the robe you see him wearing was a bit dark and plain, but the style is the same I guess. :L

I think Sekke is from Green Mantis. He did say he "joined the lesser order" during his 2nd encounter with Asta. His robe's color scheme is similar to that of Jack's.

This is really a fun transitional chapter. Black Bull is really a rowdy bunch, but their interaction is so entertaining (lol burying them in the sand's the best part xD). Now we have more than we expect: the full team (minus Gordon) in the Grand Zone mission.

It is highly probable that the girl is Undine, with the bubbles around her, the Grand Zone underwater etc etc, but I'm eager to see some plot twists. Maybe she's from other orders in different mission... maybe she's part of White Night's Eye. But please don't let her be part of Asta's harem.

I thought or rather I was under the impression that only those with 4 leaf clovers can use elemental spirits

No, Noelle just has a 3-leaf griamore - like everyone else. Fana is from the Diamond Kingdom, so she doesn't have a Clover Griamore to begin with.

We don't know much in terms of the elemental spirits yet - for all we know, the water spirit could even reject Noelle; which I hope isn't case. But I do hope there is something they are looking for in a person, it would be rather boring if it was a 'they look good enough'.

Ah, that's probably an elemental spirit. It'd be nice for Noelle to have one. But if she's not, its obvious she'll be relevant to Noelle's training and attaining control.
