How significant was it when Aizen messed Bach's perception of time....I didn't like that scene. Felt like Bach lost a few points as this arc's big bad.
I actually rather enjoyed that scene. In other series, previous villains often go through a "badass decay" and are often jobbed in order to hype up the next big bad. But instead of just letting Ywach go and talk to Aizen and bounce, Kubo actually let Aizen pull one over on Ywach, showing that he is still capable. The War Potentials seem to be beings capable of being a significant threat to Ywach and I do believe that may have been the point to that scene. Aizen's still as capable as ever, despite being tied to a chair. Also, that scene may have set up Aizen's return. We can assume that Aizen is still alive, but I'm pretty sure with that area of the Muken destroyed, Aizen may be somewhere on the lose.

It also makes me wonder what was Aizen's reason for doing so. Did he do it for personal gain? Or did he do to actually assist the S.S.? Aizen's little trick actually benefited S.S. since it cause Ywach and the Wandereich to prematurely retreat. I'm curious as to what his new game is now. Can't wait for his return.

Aizen is one of Kubo's favourites soooo...but I'm wondering how he managed to pull off such a feat. Just conversation? Isn't he suppose to be depowered but just immortal? I was once a fan of the character but Kubo handled him so poorly in the end. Bach has been pretty brutal so far in every sense...I'm interested in seeing how his arc pans out. A forum member suggested that his defeat will be in a ridiculous fashion similar to Aizen...I wouldn't put it past Kubo, the more overpowered you make something or someone, the trickier it becomes to resolve it in logic and reason.

I think the biggest implication was that fact that there's even a time limit on how long Ywhach could stay outside of whatever it was called.
It would explain why the Vandenreich switched out Seireitei.

But it opens up the question of why Ywhach ever had such a limit on him in the first place?
Perhaps there's a limit to his power? Maybe his powers only work within a certain range of his headquarters? What's special about his headquarters?

There theories are endless~~~

I don't think the manga ever made the point that he was "depowered", specially if he is immortal. He did loose power in regards to what he was as a transcendental however I doubt he is actually powerless. If he was there would not be a need to keep him sealed as he is, a regular prison with regular prison bars would do. I would guess aizen keeps at least shinigami powers right now even if he seemingly lost his zampakuto.

I'm honestly not sure how he pulled it off. I could see Aizen being capable of doing it through pure conversation, but I have a slight suspicion that Kubo was hinting at Aizen's power not being completely gone. Seeing as how "The Blade is Me" is a theme in the series now, I suspect that Aizen may have fused with his blade before his sealing or something along those lines.

I like Ywach, but he doesn't have Aizen's charisma. Aizen's lovable.

Yeah, I wonder what that was all about... Since the Shatten Bereich (that's the name) was only created after the Quincy's defeat 1000 years ago it's not like Yhwach could have had a limit on how long he could spend outside of it before. Maybe it's not the realm itself, but they just keep something inside the palace that he has to be near for most of the time. Since his soul apparently needs constant 'feeding' maybe it degrades more quickly outiside of a certain environment.

Or hell, since he's basically a vampire (well, not really, but kind of), it might have something to do with the sunlight. Quincy HQ's been inside shadows this whole time, maybe that's why he was safer there. Maybe he can only spend so long in daylight. Not that I actually believe that though...

The other question is why Aizen would even do that. Did he somehow know there was a time limit? If that's always been the case, I guess it makes sense that Aizen might know - Yhwach is basically another competitor for dominance of the world. But still, it might be something else. He might have been stalling Yhwach hoping Ichigo would arrive to fight him, or he was trying to give Yama a chance to beat him since between the two Yhwach might be the tougher enemy in the long run. Or maybe he just put Yhwach under some hypno trickery whilst he made his own escape out of Muken.

I agree that it seems like Aizen's power is still changed ever since he fused with the Hougyoku. It could even have been his bankai, or some new version of Kyoka Suigetsu

The Quincy Shadows I suspect can either freeze or slow time, or perhaps Yhwach suffers from the timelimit in Schattenbereich as well, only that he prefers to be weak in his own territory for safety's sake

I feel like there's going to be a huge debacle with the Soul King in the end. Aizen referring to him as "that thing" and showing such disgust for him isn't necessarily unusual for a villain to do, but it's left such an interest in me. We've only seen the Soul King once. I wonder if he's gonna be a part of anything.

I wonder if Aizen is a total history now or if he may appear out of nowhere next time. :gwah

Everything was switched. If there was no underground prison in Vandenreich... Aizen may just have been "switched" into a concrete wall. Or the underground wasn't switched at all. Or there's a hole that he appeared in, but it's no prison. Either way, he should still be more or less sealed and unable to do anything.

I'm not so sure he's where he's thought to be. There are a couple of possibilities.

First, there is the fact that Yamamoto left third seat Okikiba on watch at the first division, which was stated to be above Muken. There was a huge explosion there, and Yama shouted Okikiba's name, suggesting that either he assumed the man was caught up in the explosion, or he may have felt the guy's spiritual pressure decline. No explanation was given. Yet, after the initial battle, Okikiba seems fine and shares the VC spot with Nanao. It is possible that the explosion shattered the restraints on Aizen and he posed as Okikiba (although one might argue that there was a seal on his powers...counter = he was able to alter Bach's perception slightly to throw him off, despite being sealed and bound.)

Another conspiracy theory I've heard is that Aizen may have impersonated Shunsui. It was odd that while preparing for the return of the Vandenreich, he ran off to the living world to chat it up with Ichigo's friends and to give them passes into Soul Society. Then, there's the whole disappearing eyepatch conspiracy theory (although I think that may have been an honest mistake.

I think it's clear Aizen still figures into the story, especially as far as his connections to Urahara and Yoruichi (who has been notoriously absent this entire arc!). He's not going to simply be released, so I figure either one of the above was true, or Bach may have been lying when he claimed that Aizen turned down his offer.

I really wish we could see Benehime bankai soon.
yeah, I've been wanting to Urahara's Bankai, since he and Yoruichi fought Yammy. Hopefully, he'll be given a decent fight with one of the Sternritters and will see him display it finally. Still hoping to see, Shunsui fight Haschwalth and see his Bankai spark off as well.

And...where the hell is Grimmjow...?. I want him to fight in this battle, so bad.

In this case, Aizen may probably be back next time. How high is the probability of his return is yet unknown. Let the author decide. :)

Why do you think Okikiba must have died back then? Of course there was an explosion, Juha did that to make sure Aizen "has eternity to think it over". Destroying the entrance seems good. Okikiba survived because he wasn't the target.

Kubo might find a way to add Aizen back simply because he didn't show his bankai yet. That's his biggest plus.

I hope he has not forgotten Aizen as this character does have some potential in it. :teehee

I think we might see aizen in the manner of a flashback at some point. To me it seems like there is a bit of a connection between aizen, juhabach and urahara from before the manga started and I can't put my finger on it....

I don't know how he is going to bring him back and in what manner but I would like to see that bankai at least once with an explanation (lol Unohona wtf right?).

I suspect Aizen might be a "mastermind" of what is happening at the moment and then he will suddenly appear. It was like the old arc where he plotted his own death and later appeared again to declare war against all the Shinigami. So if the author has plans for him to come back, then he will be able to create an arc for his appearance. In fact I think that Aizen is a good villain character to develop, not sure if our Kubo-sensei thinks the same or otherwise. We just have to wait and see. :)
