This. If it's a case where she was a part of the division I can't see how Makima would just let her walk away. Not someone with power like Reze. And especially not with Makima's ability to only need a name to kill. As much as I like her this makes me more suspicious of Makima tbh.

I would actually think its much harder not to be suspicious of Makima given how she is overall. I mean Reze did have a point regarding Denji's situation, and Makima really managed to exploit that to her advantage. She definitely comes across as a woman with a plan.

"Kon" is such a popular demon. So Reze proved her worth even more by forcing Kon to retreat immediately by just her scent. She practically no diffed that squad and is now confronting Aki and the Angel Devil since Denji and Beam can't assist as injured as they are. I don't think Aki is any match for Reze and I wonder what future the Future Devil just showed him? Unless Denji miraculously recovers, and its possible considering Angel was about to give him blood, then the only persons I can see intervening are Makima or the old Sensei that was training Power and Denji. And considering an entire squad, or at least the majority including the lieutenant, was just wiped out i'm sure the higher ups know something big is happening near that section.

This chapter is what i love about this manga. You'd usually expect the rejuvenated MC to win the follow up fight but nope. Denji was completely beaten. Now Aki is up and ready to fight but i'm not too confident in his ability to take on Reze.

I've had a feeling for a few chapters now this is going to be what makes Angel get off his/her ass and do something. Aki can probably delay or support, but as it stands, Angel is the only character around that's nearly powerful enough to deal with Reze.

I don't think it's "just" a name to kill. There seemed to be other requirements. I'm of the opinion that she's contracted with the Betrayal Devil. It'd fit her personality in many ways, and also explain why she needed to be told the names by the guy from the yakuza. If I'm right- he had to specifically betray his comrades for her power to work.

Then again she also just made a guy spontaneously start bleeding from all his face holes by glaring at him, so who the hell knows lol

I wonder if Beam is going to just start telling Denji about what his Chainsaw power can do. I can get that Makima maybe wants to see how much different he can be to the previous Chainsaw (i'm guessing there was a previous going by this chapter) but in situations like this it's nice to have some hindsight info.

Tho I can't see how they can defeat Bomb, her abilities are just too hax and now add in Typhoon as well

Simply, Blood exhaustion. If Bomb can't bomb due low blood levels she gotta retreat else she will be captured and/or killed.

I really love Makima but she also freaks me out lol. The more we see of her powers the more it's obvious she's not normal, as a human or Devilman. Reze was second to the Gun Devil, and we saw how other Devils feared her and also what she did to Denji and co. But Makima and Angel basically no diffed her. I'm not one for power scaling, but surely the Gun Devil has to be special. Makima is assembling a team supposedly for the purpose of defeating the gun devil but i''m really starting to wonder if more is a play here.

I binge read this series last December. It's an acquired taste at first since Denji is very different from the usual Shonen Jump protagonist. I'm enjoying the series but it's kinda hard to get attach to characters knowing that the mangaka doesn't shy away from killing them.

Have to say I really like the direction things are heading in. An assassin battle royale should give us a chance to see others shine besides the main group. Hoping Power, Kobeni and the Angel Devil also get some panel time. And of course more of Makima with her weird abilities, because you know she has more up her sleeve. I don't buy for one minute that she's that worried about Santa.

The way things are even Denji would be iffy. Pochita might have an endgame lol.

Ok that chapter surprised me. Being able to take over someone's appearance is definitely going to give those assassins the upperhand. It's not like Denji knows them so he will be able to smell that they're different. Hopefully their mannerisms throw off the hunters who actually know them, maybe Makima or Sensei.

Santa is a pretty scary guy being able to turn people into dolls. If Makima didn't alert them to his involvement I imagine that would have gone completely different. She's still expecting a massacre but at least they've been duly warned. Denji and Power not being affected by the dolls could be a great trump card.
