CSM always had a very fast pacing but I don't see how this is rushed. If you reread from the start you can see Fujimoto has been slowly building up to these events from the very beginning. After last volumes events there was nothing else left to cover other than Makima's grand plan
There has been a certain amount of logic and credibility up to this point. I don't dislike the sudden power levels but there are things that he should really explain, expecially about Chainsaw Man himself.
We might simply disagree on this.
That's the whole point though. The operation against the Gun Devil was just a fake scenario Makima created and was manipulating just like the friendship between Denji, Aki and Power. That's the main twist of the manga. This story wasn't about Denji gaining a brand new life where he fights against evil devils and makes new friends like a regular shounen mc. It was about Makima creating that whole fake premise just to completely destroy it for her own plans
I'm not complaining about the twists, I'm clomplaining about everything being too suddenly fast.

Meh, still confused. Haven't come across a character like this before.
Then you are just not paying attention. Her character makes perfect sense. The one character that's confusing right now is the Chainsawman but it can still be explained in the upcoming chapters.

Actually, reading your post just made me think - what does happen if CSM eats Makima? She ceases to exist, and the word "control" goes with her? In that case, what happens to the world? Does control as a whole concept just vanish? I wonder what that looks like - would everything, from government, to dog training, to TV remotes just halt?
Was it control or dominance? I don't think remotes would stop working, but people would somehow be unable to dominate oneanother. The idea of domination would cease to exist
AFAIK it is "control", but translation being what it is, dominance is probably more accurate, yeah. In that case - there are gonna be some sexually frustrated people out there lol. But yeah, depending on how gradual the change is it could be quite an impactful event. Criminal gangs, employers and employees, all kinds of social structures could potentially break down. It's interesting that as the dominance devil Makima is less concerned with that than with her interest in Chainsaw.
