You ought to be able to order it from the Kinokuniya nearest you.

Just search for ダブルアーツ in Japanese books. The results come up in Japanese but the ordering pages are in English (FINALLY).

Somehow it seems like everybody loved Double Arts except Japanese Jump readers. It took less than a month after the manga started for the cosplay costumes to start showing up on Y!J.:blink

yeah, i wish they were near me... i live on the other side of the US and i didnt see anything for online purchasing and shipping... but it's probably bcause i dont understand japanese...lol ohhh wait... ok i found it... lol

yeah, that is really strange... i wonder why... only outsiders (non japanese) really liked it. but i've been hearing recently that there were supposed DA "Anti-fans" who severly disliked the series and sait it was copying off of "Chrono Crusade" or something like that bc it also has "sisters" in it. but i dont really know (never read the series) though they have nothing else in common. but it seems that they really disliked the series. go figure... the series could probably do well in the America's SJ, but you never really know...

i would love to write a letter to Komi, but that's probably just wishful thinking. ohh well... lol his new one-shot comes out in next months issue. i'm looking forward to it.

...what? They figured that DA ripped off something because it had sisters?
.......wow, I feel that some religious guy somewhere is really angry right now.

Wow, that's very dumb. Double Arts was nothing like Chrno Crusade. Whoever these people were, they were clearly idiots.

It's a sad chapter in the history of Jump...

It's more ironic that Bakuman actually touches this issue a bit xD

But yes, I don't see a point in comparing Chrno Crusade with Double Arts. There are tons of manga out there with the same themes. Shinigami and ninja (samurai) are two of the most overused themes.

Ah well, as much as I want it to continue, we can't really have a say at it, or rather, I should say we don't have a say at all honestly. The manga (and the entire magazine) is for the Japanese, we're just practically leeching it illegally for our own entertainment. Gotta live with that.

Well, some of us actually do buy the Jumps! I do!

But of course you're right, even when it's imported here to the States or elsewhere WSJ is for the Japanese, and they're the ones (both fans and editors) who have the say in what stays and what goes. I'm really appreciative that such a good and practically-minded community has arisen around it here in the English-speaking cyberworld, since back when I bought Jumps in '03 most series were either left completely untranslated or really behind, so you'd never get translations of these short canceled series, even if they were very good ones like DA. So even if DA got cut short, I'm glad it was published and that we got to read it translated. I'm sure Komi Naoshi will come back even stronger.

i've been hearing recently that there were supposed DA "Anti-fans" who severly disliked the series and sait it was copying off of "Chrono Crusade" or something like that bc it also has "sisters" in it.
It's been a while since I read/watched Chrono Crusade, but maybe they were referring to the term "militia sisters" (I can't remember if they even use that exact term in CC - I think there was a "Militia" elite) but...it was TOTALLY different. So using the same term in another context in another manga series is plagiarism? riiiiight. *brain explodes*

The cancellation of Double Arts - and Muddy, and Samurai Usagi - annoys me on SO many levels. At the beginning of the year it felt so exciting, with all the new fresh series for "Jump's 40th anniversary!!!" like Jump was going through a renewal. But we look at this week's lineup and it might as well be from five years ago. HxH is in the lineup and there's even a Ouba/Obata series running. :p*siiiigh*

Ehm, I compared DArts with Chrno Crusade as well. In fact, the similarities are what attracted me to read DArts as I'm a huge Chrno Crusade fan. But not so much because of the sisters but because of the relationship of the main couple. It's not *that* often in shounen that you have a working male/female main couple with a strong emotional bound and deep understanding for each other from the very beginning. The usual catfight till they realize their liking for each other is much more common.

DArts and Chrno Crusade are very alike in the point that the protagonists are bound to each other from the start through the mysterious power of the male character. Both partner have a deep (borderline platonic) love and strong trust for each other and fight through the power of their "contract" which contains the risk of the female character dying in both cases. Both are equal, like one and still unique personalities.

Being basically "in love" and able to show it to that extend from the start is what attracted me to both manga. It's very different from stereotypical shounen couples. Still no reason to rise the flag of plagiarism seeing that both manga have lots of different aspects as well. This is a story and character design schema as much as every other but certainly one I would love to see more often.

Well see, that's a sane and intelligent comparison. d^^b
(whereas accusing DA of ripping off CC because both series had an organization of sisters... not so much.:p Frankly, if anyone was ripped off it was Squaresoft.:XD)

Yes. DA ripping off Square because of the Organization XIII/Axel guy sounds plausible haha.
....ahh I miss DA. It shouldn't have been canceled...

ha... Double Arts being canceled just shows the cruelty and harshness of Shounen Jump...
i mean if DA was serialized in a different magazine, even Jump SQ, it would definetly would have survived... it was such a great series, even though i did have a feeling that it won't attract that many fans, i didn't think it would be bad enough to get it canceled in less than a year
it just had to be in Shounen Jump...

Double Arts main reason of cancellation(i think) is wrong magazine, wrong time, and mistake of the mangaka putting the Heine arc.....
