these last 2 chapters were better than the previous. I totally dislike the story so far. For me this is no Dragon Ball, it's a different manga which just used already known characters in order to exploit the popularity of DB thus reaching immediately a wide audience and revenue.
At any rate, the retiring God is really interesting: notwithstanding he is in front of Zen'o and the Great Priest, he doesn't even care and pretended to be out of the game. He really is a clown!
Btw, wasn't the author gonna reach the anime and surpass it? It looks like the anime is advancing much more than the manga...

(On a side note, anyone here is following DB Multiverse? The current chapter is one of the best ones so far, and one of the mysteries of the plot may finally be revealed )

Jiren got name dropped and Toppo was better than what meets the eye. Enjoying the gods and their designs. It's gonna be awhile till the manga sees Caulifa, Kale, and Cabba.

Toppo in the manga is far more bearable than in the anime with the justice crap non stop
At least in the manga, openly stated that Jiren is stronger, in the anime it was still ambiguous

personally, I like when we got a shocker info like Jiren being > GoD.

Toppo saying it now, while a good info, I prefer it to be revealed in an actual battle.

then again, hard to not reveal it immediately because we already know it ahead of time

The concept of a battle royale between GoDs was interesting but the fact that the manga is monthly might be a handicap for this. I liked it, it was cool to see some moves and unique abilities but the battle itself was not especially thrilling. I have a problem with two or three things in this battle too: Helles using a bow and arrow at close range. That's not something I would expect from a GoD, the fact that it actually worked left me speechless. If at least it had been made of Ki like Brianne did in the 109 it would have been better IMO. And Vermoud, I get that the are trying to portray him as a cunning GoD but his act didn't impress me at all. Plus nothing actually suggested that he is among the strongest here, unlike Beerus or Quitela.

Goku lost to Toppo but the latter admitted that he might have lost if Goku had not dropped his guard. So nothing says that he is stronger than Goku actually, so nothing says that he is stronger than Goku actually.

great chapter. the hype of jiren is mindblown stronger than master belmond??? the only thing that i was kinda skpetical was zeno. he couldnt keep with the speed of the God of destruction? but isnt he supposed to be omnipotent? so its seem the goku and vegeta (the strongest fighter of the 7th univerise) cant beat toppo. i like that which means the need to get train is stronger. so basically its zeno>grand priest>angels>jiren>=GOD>toppo>goku=vegeta

Zeno is not omnipotent. He can destroy everything. Goku and Vegeta might be able to beat Toppo. Toppo won this round because he pushed him out of the ring. It's not certain that Jiren is stronger than all the GoDs too, but it's probably the case.

Zeno is not omnipotent. He can destroy everything. Goku and Vegeta might be able to beat Toppo. Toppo won this round because he pushed him out of the ring. It's not certain that Jiren is stronger than all the GoDs too, but it's probably the case.

So basically if he isn't the GOD can speedblitz him if they wanted to (but they won't cause grand priest is there to protect him) true that but he was able to dodge SSB goku and damage him plus goku kinda admitted that he is really strong that he needs to train more. Ya I know he probably isn't hence why I said he is at least equal to them if not slightly stronger

What I still don't get, were the supreme kais retconned? Back in the original manga the implication was that there were 4 supreme kais, one for each cardinal direction and a grand supreme kai. However since DBS it doesn't seem like the remaining positions have been filled nor are a thing at other universes. So.... what up?

they are not retconning at all: we know DBS is an anime made for japanese children, according to Toei itself. They are just adjusting the whole story into their own new plan, just as they made mirai Trunks from a 17 years-later future, instead of the 20 he used to be, or Goten and Trunks still identical to when they were 8, even though Toriyama had made a chapter where a 13 years old Trunks awakens his ssj when he finds Gohan killed.
We shouldn't read too much into it: it's a spiral of mistakes which we simply have to ignore

They were four in U7, but only one in the other universes. Shin was the apprentice supposed to become THE Supreme Kai.

I would argue that adjusting the story in the way you describe is just about literally a retcon's definition. As for trunks and goten growing like that... That is not necessarily an issue. Goku took his damn time growing up IIRC.

I am reasonably sure shin was already the supreme kai back when he and the other supreme kais first fought buu. How I had understood things the elder kai supposedly took over as grand supreme kai... But none of this seems to matter in DBS.

I take it that the the fat supreme kai just did a differet aproach to teaching. I know one of the kais was old but he could´ve been a promoted assistant, or fused with someone older.

I like the manga, even if I do think that Heles not using a energy bow is kinda meh. This for me was more "heres their techiniques so we can use them in vidja games" moment, but I liked nonetheless, I liked Ramushi Scream.


On the topic of more spoilers from the anime

The same big nerd news I talked about in the last spoiler posted the synopsis of 114, which reads : "Terryfing! The birth of a new super warrior! Great evolution, the big transformation of Kale. With her wish to protect Caulifla ,Kale is able to master her new power! Then, Champa teaches them a secret plan..."

Theres also another spoiler that was aparently shown that reads "Caulifla: Kale, become a super sayajin 3 with me!
