I honestly think none of them with the exception of the master have eaten actual dragon flesh. We know you can learn/teach yourself dragon slaying magic without a dragons help why can’t this type of dragon slaying magic be the same.

This also makes sense because self taught DS's as we've seen can also look their sanity so that could explain their DF's and why they turn into actual dragons.

low tier dragons should suffice for current level dragon slayers. the problem arises in that there should be no dragons to eat. then again, acnologia is stupid, so we could see fodder dragons later in the future roaming around giltena.
