The winner is determined when the opponent (loser) can no longer continue.

Also, the one used against Natsu was troll version of crash, Gildarts himself said that he used a harmless version of the spell. He probably has lethal crash too, that magic is OP AF

Gildarts isn't all that ahead of Erza and Laxus as far as I think. "Strongest member" can either mean he's miles ahead of them ,or he's just ahead of them. Erza can push him to a high difficulty fight at this point.

If he grew stronger than he was in Arbaless, then he can be on par or above Laxus and Erza. If not, he is below now.
But I can see Laxus, Erza and Gildarts in close range currently.

Well, Erza can't rise all her potential against a friend. She was far to the strength she used on Deus Sema and Dragon Eileen.
Just like Natsu who didn't use all his potential against Gajeel to nearly a mismatch. His max level was used on Aldoron God Seed or Zeleph to destroy Fairy Heart.

Fighting friend is different from fighting a foe who want to annihilate your people.

It depends on the circumstance of the fight. As friends, no one will use their full might against each other so, here, I can see a draw as they will fight equally until being exaust. But yes, in X792, if we take Erza who unlocked her potential or PoF, she was far above Gildarts. Her performance against Eileen clearly outmatched Gildarts vs August, an equal enemy. At the beginning of a fight, I can see them in close level, with perhaps Gildarts slightly above due to his raw power and experience.

For me, they are even, with Erza having far more potential. Just like vs Laxus.
By analogy, it's like Natsu and Grey or Gajeel. One has more hidden potential but won't use it against a friend.
