Natsu still fought Zeref, and they encountered each other. Heck Natsu would've taken Zeref if Happy didn't fly him off. So the comparison between the two is partially different.\

Mashima is not going to make a panel he spent time on in drawing, shading for nothing tbh.
Zeref barely even fought. He used two spells max and they got incinerated and for the rest of the fight it was just Natsu punching him and Zeref smiling. Not to mention that the next second after they left the burns regenerated instantaneously.

I'm pretty sure he meant it figuratively when he said the one that could kill him—Natsu won't now that he knows he'll die as well.

The fact that she had to save the 3 Dragon Slayers is an example of that. Sure, it was Mashima introducing some comedy in the chapter, but none of the was able to get back up in the air with their respective Exceed and continue fighting. Nope, Erza had to do it. How ironic, right?

That applies to Gray as well. He was completely shat on by Ul, who has been dead for a very long time and whose power has not increased ever since. On the other hand, Gray's and Lyon's power should've increased exponentially, yet it was child's play for Ul. Then again, plot kicked in and they eventually defeated her, because it would be humiliating if they didn't overcome their own Historia, when everyone else had. So comparing a 2v1 fight to a 1v3 is completely hilarious and proves that Gray is still far below Erza. If it changes later on, I'll be more than happy to change my ranking, but right now, Gray is not there yet.

A power scaling thread considers feats, not hypothetical situations or powers we know nothing about. Like I said, if we go by this logic, I might as well consider Erza's third origin and she would easily outclass even Gildarts. As you see, this logic of yours is completely flawed.
Save three dragonslayers? Are you really using this argument now for Gajeel being below Erza?

That doesn't apply to Gray, considering we all know he didn't go all out/held back his power against Ur, and I and others have already debunked your notions of your Ul statements in the Gray discussion thread which you conveniently ignore and have no response to, so let's not go there, because you're going to proven wrong again and again until it hits you blue in the face. Proof: https://mangahelpers.com/forum/threads/gray-fullbuster-in-alvarez-arc.3002513/page-7

Plot kicked in when Gray held back from the start, so you might want to think before you post next time considering the situations and the fact that Gray's ice against fodder was bigger than the ones he used against Ul. Erza on the other hand went all out and still got dominated and creamed to a pont that Ajeel had to resort to CIS/PIS and inteference from Jupiter canon to nail the hit. Erza simply defeated the historias because of the mind game, simple as that. No, you see, the scaling, and hype proves that Gray is far above Erza.

You're confusing VS thread with power scaling threads. Heck, that should be obvious at this point time. Show me plenty of feats Wendy has attained. Oh right, you got nothing as usual. Erza doesn't have any foreshadowing of third origin, nor was there any panel dedicated to it, so your irrelevant point will always remain irrelevant.

Gray will have support role against Zeref, fight Invel and play a major contributer role against END. So next time be thoughtful when you post.
Why do you say that E.N.D will be a villain they have to face? I highly doubt that. He'll just be Natsu with a power-up.

But you know that even if Ajeel actively tried to stop him Natsu would just crush logic and kick his ass anyway?
I think that he's going to be the next Spriggan to die anyways... (This is me stalling while I try and figure out just who could effectively counter Sandworld)..
From what we've seen from Plotsu (one-shotting Jacob in FDK; the mass of flames that him barely trying gives off), then Demolition One-Shot or some other spell should be able to just nuke the ground and burn away all the sand and just make everything glass. That'd be a sight for sore eyes wouldn't it? And very trippy..

Sting>Rogue as feats go and even portrayal as Sting was made Guild master and Minerva considered him strong enough to be their next ace outside of herself. Sting has higher attack power. I don't even think they were ever stated to be equal just called the twin Dragon slayers. If going by feats Sting>>Rogue(Even with Shadow possessed).
Sting > Rogue with Shadow posessed? Are you serious????? :facepalm

Also for the argument of Erza >< Gajeel, it's hard to say. DF Gajeel is tough for sure, I'd say he's above Erza, but it seems too circumstancial and time-limited, whereas Erza is ridiculously versatile (elements, good overall offense, defense, speed, very plain character).

To be accurate, we don't even know for sure if that was DF (Y u so vague mashima). Bradman called it as Jet-black Iron mode and Gajeel was always talking about how he was lacking behind the other slayers (like wut m8, you're like the 3rd strongest) and that he didn't possess DF but he didn't care so why would he say that if it was actually DF?

But yes, I do rank Jet-Black Iron mode Gajeel > Erza as he deposed of The Grim Reaper rather quickly whereas Erza was almost killed by Ajeel who I consider to be quite below The Grim Reaper (that much should be obvious).

That form was dubbed "Shadow Iron Dragon mode" wasn't it? It's like Natsu's Lightning Flame Dragon mode. Sort of a permanent Unision Raid that one DS can gift to another. So if i'm right then Gajeel really hasn't used Dragon Force as of yet. Interesting...

I would say it's completely 100 percent dragon force Gajeel. Gajeel remarked how everyone has surpassed them mentioning even Wendy, and he has the same trait of dragon scales on his his face and body as other dragon force users have.

Oh no, I'm not talking about that. That form is what he used against Rogue. I'm talking about the one against Bradman when he absorbed the iron in the MBPs (ugh that fight was terrible) and gained the form.

@Alvarez Princess Wait, let me check. I'll edit this comment after finding out.

Frankly it's been ages since i read that fight over again but I know the form you mean. Hiro was deliberately vague on whether or not it was in fact Dragon Force. He absorbed the Magic Barrier Particles and gained this uber op form, but I still don't think it was DF

Having a natural resistance to Bradman's curse does not make Gajeel > Erza, simply because the latter did not have an innate counter to Ajeel; he could move freely within his AoE spell (Sand world), whereas Erza has always been a CQC mage. Gajeel was able to metabolize the iron present in Bradman's particles, so he had a natural counter to the curse.

Would you also assume that "DF" Gajeel > Laxus? Because both of them inhaled the very same particles and the latter was on the brink of death because he did not have immunity to it.

Also, keep in mind that Levy sustained minor damage from Bradman's curse and she was caught in most of his spells, easily countering one of them, so his (Bradman) power is also debatable.

@Alvarez Princess @WithYouInSpirit All right so I checked the panels again. Apparently Gajeel absorbed the **miniscule** amount of iron in the MBPs to **digest** the poison. Now IIRC to activate DF for the first either the person needs to be a third gen which Gajeel isn't or they need a large supply of their element from ethernano like Natsu did with Etherion and Wendy from the ethernano form the air around face so i doubt Gajeel's form was DF as Bradman said he did it with be able to absorb the MBPs and hit Bradman. But like you said Princess, he also developed scales so there is a good chance it is DF but eh that's up to Mashima, why does he leave these type of things so vague ;-;

@Synn You make good points ;D. Although I believe that a) because I have always felt Gajeel and Erza are approximately equal with Erza being a bit above him and b) Bradman had all the curses of Tartaros and his own so he must be quite powerful plus Gajeel was blitzing him and ripping him apart all the time. But like you said, we have no durability or reaction etc feats from Bradman so like you said, we can't say he was above Ajeel in those aspects although I do believe if pitted against a same opponent (for e.g : Minerva) who does not have a counter against them, Bradman will fair better.

I guess we'll never find out who is stronger between Gajeel and Erza lol.

She kinda did with her water/wind swords and her Nagakami armour (though that's a counter to everything). She also had a field advantage and was saved by Jupiter at the most critical moment which also gave her the opportunity to strike the finishing blow on Ajeel. The only gained advantage he got was the ability to hit Bradman (Bradmans intangibility is not a curse). He still blitzed him before he was able to do anything and took him out with a regular punch.

Also, keep in mind that Levy sustained minor damage from Bradman's curse and she was caught in most of his spells, easily countering one of them, so his (Bradman) power is also debatable.
She was caught in three, had a perfect counter to one of those three and was saved quickly by Gajeel in another. Tenchi Kaimei is still a very deadly curse for most characters.

There was a lot of MBP present and MBP contain iron, Gajeel absorbed much of it and gained DF, hence he had the dragon force scales on him. He basically filtered the iron from the poison in the MBP although he had to digest the poison for that to happen, that's what Bradman is talking about.

Also, I don't think being a third gen dragon slayer has anything to do with going DF. Wendy can also go into dragon force volunterly. Being a third gen probably just sped up the grinding/training process to some extent.

I'm not sure tbh, Sting has way more DC and his strikes seem more powerful but Rogue is faster, has the better element and has hax that is better than Sting's stigma. Plus (if the shadow is still around) that's a solid tier boost (was losing to base Gajeel before, then winning comfortably after). Honestly I think it depends on what you rate higher, Sting may have high DC but Rogue can do a number of tricks due to his intangibility. Personally I'd say they're equal with maybe a slight edge to Rogue due to haxiness.
To attack he has to come out of the shadows. Gajeel easily blocked his punched while he was using shadow body.

As far as Bradman is concerned he isn't that powerful. Levy was able to counter 2 of his abilities.

1. His Skulls

2. His water attack

3. She even was barely effected by his demon particles.

Bradman without a doubt isn't that powerful so Gajeel beating him doesn't make Gajeel>Erza whatsoever when somebody like Levy was able to counter 3 of his curses. If Erza and Bradman would have fought Erza would have beat him.

Erza Red pants sword is superior to his Ezel curse power. I Mean Erza was able to block something like this with relative ease:

Where as Bradman curse:

His Tenchi Kaimei curse pose no threat as Erza was able to pierce through Plutogrim with Lance armor.

So honestly if Erza fought against Bradman she would have beat him even he used the same curses he used against Levy/Gajeel against Her.

So people can't compare Erza struggling with Azir to Gajeel beating Bradman as both have two different magics. Also Gajeel have a lot of help from Levy during that fight. I doubt Gajeel could even defeat Azir.

That's not an innate counter, it's an acquired one. Her water/wind combo only allowed her to harden the sand and hit him once with it, and Nakagami Armor was hardly a counter to anything in this fight, as it was only used to deliver the final hit. How did she have a field advantage, when she was inside Ajeel's "world"? Her opponent had the upper hand, not her. The only thing Erza needed was a disctraction and she took advantage of her being at Ajeel's mercy to guide Bisca's aim with Jupiter.

Also, I wouldn't call it a regular punch in Gajeel's case, when he just had a power-up before landing said punch. Not to mention Gajeel's ability to hit Bradman was derived from his natural resistance to the curse, so it doesn't exactly prove me wrong either. He was able to touch him because his body was able to metabolize the iron and adapt to the curse itself; again, an innate ability, not an acquired one.

She'd be dead before she even got to the level where Bradman used the Curses from the 9 Demon Gates, also how exactly does Erza counter the 2nd Seal? She doesn't have Holy Attribute Magic

The only Seal Levy countered was the Holy Attribute one, Gajeel was with her the whole time Bradman was using the 9 Demon Gates Curses, he protected her from all of them except Tenchi Kaimei, an Ice Devil Slayer Roar would have destroyed Levy if Gajeel wasn't there..

Good point but Rogue can use it to get good hits in.
As far as Bradman is concerned he isn't that powerful. Levy was able to counter 2 of his abilities.
The first example is because it was Holy Element magic, by what Bradman stated it would appear that anyone with Holy magic could dispel the Second Seal. As for the poison water, she did that to Torafuzar's water too, it's a simple counter, anyone with the capability to create a hole like that (something Gajeel and Erza likely couldn't). I don't see how this discredits Bradman, both cases were scenarios where the magic used against it were direct counters.
She even was barely effected by his demon particles.
That is clearly a plot hole, the only reason Gajeel was ok was due to his Iron lungs and we saw in Tartoros that Laxus and the Thunder Tribe were almost killed just by being in the MBP mist so unless Tempesters MPB's > Bradman MBP's (no reason for this) Levy should have died like Bill.
Bradman without a doubt isn't that powerful so Gajeel beating him doesn't make Gajeel>Erza whatsoever when somebody like Levy was able to counter 3 of his curses. If Erza and Bradman would have fought Erza would have beat him.
Erza would lose to Bradman, she'd be fighting to live through the MBP's, let alone tanking the curses. Plus he could pierce Erza's skin via Thorns. Also remember that Bradman still had the other curses of the 9DG at his fingers, meaning he could have used the Sensation Curse at any time. Besides, the only reason Gajeel beat Bradman is because he altered the properties of his magic to counter Bradman's intangibility, had he not done that he wouldn't have been able to do that and since Erza has shown no ability to do that she'd just be swiping at an intangible Bradman.

While she could block that she'd have to counter his other curses too, whilst chocking on MBP's.

"Pose no threat" is an exaggeration, especially since she'd be getting poisoned if she couldn't drain it in time, plus it would limit her movement.
So honestly if Erza fought against Bradman she would have beat him even he used the same curses he used against Levy/Gajeel against Her.
She'd be dead before Bradman started using curses, she has no resistance to MBP's, even Laxus succumbed to MBP's.

What? If anything Gajeel absorbing the MBP to hit Bradman was an acquired counter since its not part of his natural/regular arsenal. The sword/wind combo are in Erzas innate arsenal, so its an innate counter. Its about as innate a counter as someone who summons swords and armours could have.

Her water/wind combo only allowed her to harden the sand and hit him once with it, and Nakagami Armor was hardly a counter to anything in this fight, as it was only used to deliver the final hit.
It allowed her to disperse his basic attacks (which is all he could use on a flying ship) and hit him (something someone like Kagura wouldn't be capable of doing). Both the neptune and wind swords only dealt basic damage though, Nakagami bypassed Ajeels sand body due to its magic immunity and hit him harder then anything in her arsenal ever could. Thats a counter.

How did she have a field advantage, when she was inside Ajeel's "world"? Her opponent had the upper hand, not her. The only thing Erza needed was a disctraction and she took advantage of her being at Ajeel's mercy to guide Bisca's aim with Jupiter.
They were fighting on a flying ship, Ajeel did not have access to many of his ground sand moves. Sand World is one of Ajeels moves, its not an outside factor so it doesn't count against him or for her. Jupiter did not just distract him, it also outright saved her.

Also, I wouldn't call it a regular punch in Gajeel's case, when he just had a power-up before landing said punch. Not to mention Gajeel's ability to hit Bradman was derived from his natural resistance to the curse, so it doesn't exactly prove me wrong either. It was a regular DF punch. I repeat, a regular one. He still has named physical hits and roars. An innate ability would be an ability that he has normally at his disposal, this instance (much like in most of Gajeels fights) is an instance of an acquired ability, specifically to hit Bradman and go DF.

His Tenchi Kaimei curse pose no threat as Erza was able to pierce through Plutogrim with Lance armor.
Not really sure what her piercing plutogrim has to do with with her getting out of Tenchi Kaimei. She is a physical fighter, Tenchi Kaimei almost completely shuts down physical fighters. That curse is her worst possible nightmare.

But unfortunately levy survived his MBP. Whether it was for plot reason or whatever. MBP isn't helping here, because what we saw Bradman could do with it, erza isn't choking much.
Pretty sure Nakagami cut space itself. Should work on Bradman too.
If Bradman used other curses like sensation or macro, I am sure he would have beaten gajeel along with laxus. So yes, erza shouldn't win if he start using those.

My problem with Levy surviving the MBP's is that:

- Gajeel only survived due to Iron lungs, the manga made that clear.
- Laxus (+ Thunder Tribe) was downed by a mist of MBP's, the MBP's Bradman was releasing were from a constant emission and they had a large range.
- Any one prior to Gajeel entering was getting one shot by it.
- Levy doesn't compare to Gajeel (let alone Laxus) in endurance/durability.

These are the reasons why I'm 99.9% sure that it's a plot hole. As for Nakagami cutting him, I don't think it would work, from what I know of Nakagami (I'll admit I don't know much) it cuts through magic and ignores it's rules but Bradman uses curses so it shouldn't affect him.
