Wahl said himself his blow were doing NO DAMAGE dunno what else he would need to say.
Ok, let's say you're right.

Actually red lightning isn't blood+lightning it's mercury fulminate+lightning.

It suggests it is blood, don't know where you got that it's mercury fulminate, but even if it is, that component is what hurt Wahl.

Laxus only got pushed that high due to MBP and plot not having use red lightning, my points still stands Laxus is wayy above Wahl.
Partially. He got pushed to high-extreme diff because he was trying to hurt him with 99% of his arsenal's attacks and none was successful. That'd have happened with or without MBP. He'd have recieved blows and damage with or without MBP because he didn't use the move that oneshot Wahl from the beginning.

Laxus is above Wahl, not way above though. He only has one attack that can hurt him, if he didn't then Wahl would automatically be well above Laxus. Wahl is durable enough to tank (edit: not to tank, to be undamaged by) 99% of Laxus' attacks so how is Laxus well above Wahl?

No Laxus got pushed to extreme due to the MBP, THE ONLY time he took any major damage was when the MBP stopped him from moving.

Laxus is wayy above Wahl, if you can one shot someone you're way above them and even if that want the case Wahl would only push La us because he's a bad matchup for him not because he's in Laxus' level. Wahl can only 'tank' Laxus' attacks because he's immune to lightning. Wahl only holds up against because of poor matchup not because he's as strong . My point still stands. LAXUS US WAY ABOVE WAHL.

The official translation of the attack is Raikō: Akamikazuchi, which equates to Mercury Fulminate: Red Lightning. It had nothing to do with blood.

And Laxus is significantly above Wahl. Despite Laxus being significantly ill and fighting a guy who's completely immune to his magic, he still won. Those were the only two reasons Wahl lasted as long as he did.

Put Wahl up against a mage at the exact same level as Laxus who doesn't use lightning magic and isn't sick and he gets annihilated. That's proof enough that he isn't close to Laxus and only pushed him as far as he did because of two significant advantages that he wouldn't naturally have against other mages.

Laxus was nerfed? What does that even mean? Are you saying that Laxus was stronger than August in the past and now he's weaker...?
If Laxus can casually kill Ajeel, who was stated to be on the same level as the rest of the 12 then Laxus in DF would beat August. Laxus was against Walh, lightning didn't affect him, and Laxus was sick. He was nerfed.

Laxus doesn't have DF so I don't get your point.

The feats he's pulled off since the time skip are incredible. He casually oneshot Bluenote (who was as powerful as pre time skip Gildarts), he oneshot the God of War, and he oneshot a Spriggan (ok Makarov did punch him once but that was only to get him out of the guild so Natsu could go all out). Gajeel only beat Bradman by using Dragon Force and absorbing his magic, Erza needed Bisca's help to beat Ajeel, and Laxus's Spriggan was a fking robot. As for Gray, he hasn't even done anything impressive yet this entire arc and until he does it doesn't make sense to assume that he's as strong as Natsu.
Gildart is stronger than bluenote, he was being drained of magic then Gildart used crash and with one punch launched him into the clouds.

Laxus was pushed to extreme due to him not performing red lightning at the beginning. If the fight went the same way it did without MBP he'd be pushed to mid difficulty being generous. If he used red lightning from the beginning, MBP or not, easy diff.

Laxus is wayy above Wahl, if you can one shot someone you're way above them
No just no. While Laxus cannot hurt him with 99% of his arsenal, the other can do considerable damage to him so, no, he's not 'well above' just because one technique is superior to Wahl. He's just above (because he defeated him).

He'd be well above if regular lightning hurt Wahl as much as Wahl's attacks damaged Laxus.

and even if that want the case Wahl would only push La us because he's a bad matchup for him not because he's in Laxus' level.
That is wrong as well. Let Wahl fire etherion and then tell me he's not on Laxus' level.

Wahl can only 'tank' Laxus' attacks because he's immune to lightning.
Laxus' attacks w/o magic should be as strong as CQC magic-less Glidartz attacks or stronger. One simple punch from Glidartz equals to one fire-charged current base Natsu punch so, Laxus should've been able to damage him with sheer strength but he didn't -seemingly-.

Wahl only holds up against because of poor matchup not because he's as strong . My point still stands. LAXUS US WAY ABOVE WAHL.
While I believe Wahl to be one of the weakest spriggans, he is not weak as such and certainly not much weaker than Laxus. Now if you think Laxus could beat God Serena -for example- then I have nothing to argue with you simply because our oppinions differ way too much. So let's just agree to disagree.

If Laxus can casually kill Ajeel, who was stated to be on the same level as the rest of the 12 then Laxus in DF would beat August. Laxus was against Walh, lightning didn't affect him, and Laxus was sick. He was nerfed.
Laxus can't casually kill Ajeel... and Laxus doesn't have DF :S

I don't think that he could kill Ajeel casually. he would have heavily injure him or KO'e him with his casual nuke at best.

also, even physical lightning infused punches didn't do anything to Wahl.

it is the same thing what happened to Natsu vs Zancrow.

Um no? It would've killed him. August, the most hyped guy of the 12 said he would die. I trust him more than Ajeel. And it's safe to say August or Irene aren't the strongest mages. That titles belongs to a Dimaria because she can stop time and kill them.

But of course. People assume that nuke could've really killed Ajeel...

Ajeel is not that weak folks. He could've assimilated in the sand and, had he tanked it, he'd still be safe and sound (somewhat injured indeed). He tanked a lot of counter attacks from Erza and still was safe and sound, then you needed a Jupiter (it's hard to measure whether Jupiter >/< Laxu's casual nuke because one is a nuke and the other is an magic-based canon) + strongest Erza's armor attack in order to defeat him (not kill him).

August didn't say he would die, August said "it'd be a pity to lose a comrade" or something like that. As in, oh, in the event you died, it'd be a pity. He should have said "wow, that attack would've killed you" and then I'd say: "OK, Laxus could casually kill Ajeel". Besides Ajeel reaffirms he woudn't have died, nothing further from the truth... So, yeah.

People seem to assume too much... Ajeel vs Laxus would be an interesting fight, not a fodderization/nerfing fight as many of you might think. Stop overrating Laxus to above Spriggan level because he's mid-tier spriggan level at best.

well, August did note that Ajeel would die. we cannot argue that. it was just different wording. Ajeel said that he wouldn't bu that guy is cocky as hell. Laxus vs Ajeel definitely wouldn't be an interesting fight. if Laxus' unnamed attack would potentially KO'e Ajeel and disperse his Death Sand with zero effort then he would get rekted very badly and that is Laxus who is not even trying.

You are somewhat correct. We cannot argue that August noted Ajeel might have died.

Let's analyze the situation:

First of all, Laxu's casual nuke is smaller in AoE than many of you think. It seems about as large as Dimaria turning into Chronos... (Although, on the other hand, there is a calculation which puts that nuke about large mountain level, so I won't be the one to judge its size. Calculation source: http://vsbattles.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:71118)

Secondly, August doesn't say that the attack would have killed him, he just says "Losing one's comrade is a terrible thing, Azir". It is a suggestion of something that might have happened. And trust me on this, I'm a linguist. Of course I don't know if that's the most accurate translation since I don't know what it says in Japanese (nor do I know Japanese) but if it is an accurate translation, it is not saying he would have but rather he might have died.

Thirdly, in order to squash August supposition (not statement), Ajeel denies it with emphasis: "You're not suggesting I might have died from that attack..." <- incredulity, disbelief. Ajeel cannot comprehend how it might have shot through August's head that he might've died from that attack. Then he says "Be careful you don't go senile in your old age, August". Irony with hues of threat. He's mad at the sole fact he might've envisioned him dying from 'such a pitiful attack'. He's also questioning his reasoning and judgement. So I trust more Ajeel, who knows his durability better than a third party who's just been questioned of being senile for not encompassing Ajeel's durability.

Then if we go by feats, Ajeel is a combination of very proficient CQC (high speed, brute strength), vast amounts of MP (seemingly superior to Laxus') and a bit of hax-ish magic (he can make you dry by touching you = he can literally take life out of you, + he can assimilate into the sand + he's partially intangible + he can create sand monsters, sand colossi, etc.)

So, I can 'understand' someone would say Laxus is vastly superior to Wahl because he could oneshot him even if handicapped + Wahl being immune to Laxus' kind of magic, but saying he could've casually killed Ajeel is absurd. And I love Laxus, but come on. Laxus can't casually kill any spriggan. Neinhart maybe? Dunno.

No the suggestion of blood isn't as strong as the name, they literally states the element in the name just because the throw in a line or two about Yuri doesn't change that.

Laxus was pushed to extreme due to him not performing red lightning at the beginning. If the fight went the same way it did without MBP he'd be pushed to mid difficulty being generous. If he used red lightning from the beginning, MBP or not, easy diff.

No he is way above, if you get one shotted you're way below simply as that, Wahl is a bad matchup hence why he doesn't die to a normal attack.

He'd be well above if regular lightning hurt Wahl as much as Wahl's attacks damaged Laxus.
No he's still way above, Wahl is immune to lightning he's not tanking Laxus' move because he's that strong. Being a bad matchup for someone doesn't put you on their level

That is wrong as well. Let Wahl fire etherion and then tell me he's not on Laxus' level.
That would never hit a healthy Laxus, so no he's still not on his level nor is the etherion on the level as the one the Magic Council has.

Laxus' attacks w/o magic should be as strong as CQC magic-less Glidartz attacks or stronger. One simple punch from Glidartz equals to one fire-charged current base Natsu punch so, Laxus should've been able to damage him with sheer strength but he didn't -seemingly-.
Where did you pull that mess from? Wahl said Laxus' punches were doing NOTHING he said NOTHING meaning he was taking no damage.

Wahl is one of the stronger Spirggans but whatever. Laxus would handily beat Wahl and anyone near his level, Laxus is stronger than any Spirggan not named Dimaria (only because of time stop), August and Irene, same applies for Jellal and Natsu.

Look, @Crimson Ice

I mostly disagree with most of what you say.

IMO, the fact that the attack was learned via inheritance (i.e. blood), and there's even a flashback talking about Yuri, makes it more credible that the red comes from blood than from a chemical composition that is not even red, nor has the same effect as the attack (explosive component). Besides, it's white.

IMO, the fact that Laxuses punches didn't damage Wahl proves that Wahl's durability is well above Laxus' cqc abilities, and Laxus should be strong as hell even without magic. So, for me, that makes Wahl NOT THAT MUCH below Laxus as you claim.

IMO, Laxus can be as healthy as he wants, he ain't dodging etherion. Heck, etherion is supposed to be country level. Let's scale it down to large mountain-small island level... Tell me how Laxus is dodging it.

IMO, Wahl is one of the weakest Spriggans. Most of the spriggans have haxes that could potentially be dangerous for any character. Bradman and MBP + Macro, God Serena fodderizing the 3 GoI + Jura, Dimaria stopping time and killing anyone she wants, Brandish casually shrinking islands, Jacob soloing the whole FT guild (hadn't horologium intervened), Ajeel sandstorming an entire city and killing you seconds within him touching you, etc. Tell me how Wahl is above any of that.

So, as you can see, IMO, many things that in your opinion are completely baseless. But you're usually disrespectful in your answers and you make others feel like yours are generally superior, when they're as valid!

I believe August more cause he is supposed to be old and wise and the fact that he shielded Ajeel from that nuke. heck, Ajeel though he can solo Ishgar. I say that he would be KO'ed or heavily injured to the point that he cannot fight anymore, something what Laxus did to Gajeel and Natsu with one roar. I also don't want to count AoE damage cause by that logic Natsu should have stomped Laxus during Festival arc because he had better AoE damage showings and yet he was getting stomped instead.

that was Laxus casual nuke which is impressive. Natsu used his strongest mode (excluding DF) to finish off one Spriggan although Jacob's durability is shitty. that's kinda of a big difference.

and I doubt that Red Lightning is from blood. his lightning operates differently than Ice.

so to summarize - Laxus can most likely KO Ajeel with his casual nuke or HEAVILY injure him and he can one shot Wahl if he can use Red Lightning right off the bat.

Laxus' nuke is WAYY larger than Dimaira's Chronos activation, stop just stop it. Laxus' nukes reached high enough to the point where it was parting clouds, do you know how high clouds can be in the sky? Up to 6KM, just based on that it it's larger than Dimaria's blast not to mention the blast's width is similar to its height.

August says losing a comrade is a terrible thing implying Aizr would have died, to back this up Azir questions August thinking he would have died. As regards to Azir I'd take August's words over his any day, Azir himself is cocky and even after that he wanted to invade by himself and we've seen August would only step in if his ally REALLY needed help (Refer to when he stops Jacob in the Serena fight because he knew he would be fine)

I don't think he would have died but it's implied he would have or at least would have gotten fucked up badly by a casual swipe from Laxus.

There is NO BLOOD PEIORD, just because it's red doesn't mean it's blood.

No the FACT THAT WHAL WAS NOT DAMAGED IT PURELY DUE TO LIGHTNING IMMUNITY, WAHL SAYS THIS HIMSELF. If you get one shotted you far below someone.

Laxus would dodge Etheroin first thing first, that is not the same as the Council's one so it's not country level, second thing just because it's Island level doesn't mean it has AoE as large as an Island, in fact we saw it charging up and the beam didn't look large at all, in fact it looked smaller than the one he used from the boat, Laxus can dodge.

LOL. Wahl himself has cancelled out MBP against Laxus and Macro couldn't even knock out all of Wahl's footsoldiers. How is fodderizing the GoI+Jura impressive, they all seem largely weaker than current Erza. Brandish is the second weakest Spirggan, I don't care if she can shrink an Island, Jacob soloing a guild when all the members is sooo impressive (sarcasm), while Wahl is a robot and is able t lock onto prey the sucking him dry wouldn't do anything because he doesn't have a human anatomy.

Baseless? I'm not the one assuming a magic Laxus is on par with Gildarts? I'm not the one assuming everything. You bring up my replies I haven't even done anything to you, in fact, the only people I'm overly sarcastic and disrespectful to is probably BP and Jko.

lightning punches didn't do anything to Wahl

Wahl was only pushed back but he didn't took any damage nor anything. he even laugh it off and was worried when analysis got impossible. when Red Lightning kicked in he was done. he bypassed his immunity and he got one shotted.

Laxus regular lightning punches should be a combination of lightning magic + raw strength.

Wahl is immune to Laxus lightning = Wahl is immune to Laxus magic NOT cqc abilities.

His raw strength should be very high.

His raw strength didn't manage to even scratch Wahl.

How is Wahl so vastly inferior to Laxus, when Laxus cannot even scratch him?

No, the gap for me is not as big as you want it to be. If Laxus bare punches damaged Wahl, then I'd say: oh, damn, even without using magic Laxus can damage Wahl, he's vastly superior to him. But not the case.

I won't persuade you, you won't persuade me. Let's move to another topic.

Laxus regular lightning punches should be a combination of lightning magic + raw strength.

Wahl is immune to Laxus lightning = Wahl is immune to Laxus magic NOT cqc abilities.

His raw strength should be very high.

His raw strength didn't manage to even scratch Wahl.

yeah that's true but either that's a plot hole or Wahl has monstrous durability. I always compared his immunity to Zancrow vs Natsu where Natsu's fiery punches didn't do anything to Zancrow. its the same thing here.

and Laxus punches did hurt Wahl to some degree. there was a possibility that Wahl could lose (prior to his Assault mode).

you mistook me for Crimson Ice :)

I don't have any beef with you.

Laxus had to go assault mode, so yeah, I agree, to some degree his punches did some damage to Wahl.
I know, you're not Crimson Ice, I was just trying to make myself clearer :P
