The gaiden series are released on a phone app available only in Japan, so it's kinda hard to translate them and as a result they take some time.

No, these girls are top 4 of Crimson Princess guild. They're called Ladies Quartet (or something like that); Dimaria like girl is Sonnet, ninja girl is Caprichia, nun girl is Carol and girl with two buns is Leed/Reed. In the previous chapter it was said, that if they combine their powers they're on Ten Wizard Saints level and Laxus decided to fight with them alone. They're immune to his thunder, but their thunder can hurt him, much to Freed's suprise.

I believe that Laxus is way above Jura during Tartaros arc and especially now in Alvarez arc.it depends on when does this happens.immediately after Tartaros arc or half of the one year time skip.

maybe now he will use Red Lightning.
