Well i'd be asking why there so munch time in a hot spring then. But every FT member we saw was either part of team natsu or close affiliated with them.

Well if that’s the case then maybe Mashima can resolve the 100 Year Quest in the anime along with Lucy finding Aquarius’s Key.

Well the manga is over so the only choices are the anime or a spin off.

Well even if that was the case I don't Mashima would tease a new spin off for no reason.

It's problem is that, one of the most critized aspects of FT ending was that it was incomplete. Mashima taking a break and then to make a spin-off that actually gave people the ending, would just be a flip off. (He put himself in a damned if you do, damned if you don't, kinda moment.)

@Gabo @Gut's is the man @Reebi So since Mashima mentioned there will be another spin off that will be a sequel that will start from where the last chapter left off with. Also how many chapters do you guys this spin off/sequel will have and who do you think will write it if Mashima doesn't write the spin off/sequel?

I wonder if he'll write the spin-off and have it drawn by someone else?

Well I think it's possible that Mashima might write the spin off since someone else drawing the spin off would allow Mashima to focus on his new manga while writing the spin off.

I do wonder how long his next series will be or even if it'll be somehow connected. (he said different world and character. Parallel world and alternate dimension exist in FT and he never stated outright that there would be no connection. Maybe Mt Zonia is bridge between the two world and part way through his next one's FT come's in?)

I think you misunderstood the spin off isn’t Mashima’s new series it’s something else. Also from the little information we got on Mashima's new series it doesn’t sound like his new series won’t be anything Fairy Tail related. Since Mashima said his new series will be a new form fantasy and Mashima wanted to do something new since 3 years ago.

I forgot to mention that Mashima won’t be writing the spin off since someone else will which allow Mashima to focus on his new series while he supervise the spin off.

Also I just thought of a way that Laxus could become the next guild master in the spin off/sequel which is if Ivan kills Makarov but while Team Natsu are gone on the 100 Year Quest and Laxus when is not at the guild as well as when Makarov is alone. Also this could end up being what the second arc of the spin off/sequel is about.

That'd be a tad... not a good idea. Ivan been jailed for a long time, no one likes/trusts Ivan, he has nothing to gain and it be plain nonsensical. Not too mention there would still be Mira, Elfman, Lisanna, Gajeel, Gildarts and several others. It would be very impossible for Ivan to even get to makarov. Let alone kill him. Not trying to insult you, but I see so many holes.

Well Miggy was at Comic Con when Mashima was there and she meet Mashima when she was there so Miggy's only relying information she heard Mashima say while she was there.
