I just wanted to say... the yuri is strong Medusa’s Interlude. I had just been wondering if there was any major distinction between ring male or female. And that one was like “You know I’m a girl.” And Mash and Medusa were pretty much like “That ok. We into that too, Master.”

Powerful single target buster saber and strong waifu candidate.

The upcoming servants I feel like everybody should know about though are three pretty big ones. At Halloween we get Osakabehime (waifu and support assassin.) During the second part of Salem Chapter's release we get Abigail Williams (first foreigner class, anti-Berserker). Shortly after that we get the real prize. With Christmas this year comes the one and only Eresh (versatile lancer and competitor for best Rin). Needless to say everything I've got will be saved for Christmas.

The more Rins the better I need to save for Eresh, but if Scathach comes around again before New Years then oh boy

What I wouldn't give for that luck. You have NP4 Tamacaster and I have NP0 still, but Gil Caster fills her role slightly in my Arts teams atm.

The funny thing about FGO I've found that it's kind of less enjoyable the more servants you have at least for me, as paradoxical as that sounds.

Like I've noticed as I've played this game and my roster has gotten more stacked servants don't have the same impact as they did when I was just starting out and only had Ellie-chan for like 4 months. Because it gets hard to fit anybody into your teams after a point.

When you get any class or position pretty stacked. Like I pulled Saber Artoria not too long ago. But after I was done ascending her it occurred to me.. will I ever use her? I have Mordred and Altera. They do almost exactly the same thing. Similarly as a crit damage dealer who am I going to use over Jalter? That's something I hope if they ever remodel the engine and do an FGO 2.0 they address somehow.

That or much more often do the event servant damage boosting. Give us some excuse to dust off characters once in a while.

Yeah that's the irony of it, with the limit at 111 or whatever it is you can only fit so many servants in your teams. I try to vary what I use but I often end up having Kintoki, Waver and Mash as the core of a few teams 60% of the time, if not more. There are definitely servants I'd like so I can use them, but some you want you probably don't end up using. That's why I try and just roll for who I'd really want in terms of using etc., and some of the time I've been lucky enough to get them, like with Nero Bride, Musashi (F Wallet there), and First Hassan.

It goes without saying that I've got a few gold servants both 5 star and 4 star that I've pulled (some unintentionally) that I'll likely never use, like Arash, Scherzarade, and a myriad of 4 stars plus some unfortunate 5 Stars I'd like to use but don't see myself using anytime soon such as Vlad, Nightingale, Quetz, and as for 4 Stars Saber Fran with some others.

Tbh, I can see that even though I haven’t been playing long and don’t have that many high rarity. I have noticed that favorite lows get replaced by 4 and 5 stars when I get them. I have noticed that if I have a favorite (no matter rarity) at a high enough level, then almost have no motivation to use or build a second that’s too similar. Still on the lookout for stuff in certain classes. Like a good Berserker and really good assassin. An AoE Assassin is something need. I tried for Cleopatra but sadly no.

Also recently got Parvati, love her. Her NP is really pretty. Feminine but badass. Working on her outfit now.

Personally, I'm not enjoying FGO less just because I have more options. It's true that some Servants are inevitable going to get abandoned for a long time, but the one's you truly like you will inevitably use sooner or later. Ofc low rarity can be a detriment, but tbh we get so little of those compared to 4*/5* that it doesn't matter too much.

For me it helps that a lot of the old 3*/2*/1* are just not all that good (either gameplay-wise or in terms of enjoyment/likeability), and that you will eventually use even Servants you neglect thanks to bonus points etc., like the latest Singularity giving double bond points if you use the Knight Classes.

On that note, only started Shimosa today, but I think it's a fun story so far (completed chapter 5 some time ago). It almost feels like a bit too much talking at times, but Musashi is a pretty fun partner to chat with And ofc, as a Shirou fan, having Muramasa around certainly doesn't hurt :3

I'm really enjoying Shimousa so far. It's given me a very good reason to use my Musashi and also get some bond points up on her, Nero Bride and my Saberlot/Salter. Story is very solid and I really appreciate that as it's story that really keeps me invested in the game, it's just a shame most events aren't as solid in story.

Yeah I know what you mean Sam, though I think it's mostly consensus that FGO is one of the best gacha games in terms of story.

Many people seem to look down on this kind of game, and while I agree that it can be incredibly predatory and is ofc made to earn lots of money, maintaining such a game is huge work as well. You need to deliver new content almost EVERY week, which most often means new Servants + New CEs + a new event, that needs a somewhat new system (to keep experience fresh) and a new story. It's a massive undertaking that needs a lot of time from a lot of people.

Ofc a gacha game can't compare to games on console or PC, but considering they need to deliver new content each week, I would argue that FGO has achieved a lot. Babylonia and Camelot were great, the CCC event as well. And with Agartha we're past the last bad story chapter (it got voted as the worst Singularity after Septem by jap fans), so while not everything is going to be a hit for everyone, there's mostly good stuff to look forward to.

That being said, I won't try to defend the general gacha system. It's pretty bad honestly, potentially making people pay lots of money for some of their fav characters. Everyone should be aware of that going into this - either you're willing to accept it and spend some money (to a reasonable extent, if you can afford it) or control yourself as much as possible and play this mostly without spending any money at all. If you can't do either, I would always advice people to just stay away from that kind of game.

Mash is the only servant I have continuously used, always at the beginning of the line. I have fount that it's hard to decide who to use more then it was a couple months ago, when I had fewer servants. Still tends to stick with my favorites, but I do try to varie things up.

As for Shimousa, I have been enjoying it too. It really makes me want Muramasa to become an actual servant.

I mean, I think there are two conversations with FGO right? The visual novel side and the gameplay/gatcha side.

The visual novel side started a bit weak but where it's at now is, I think, really great They've turned it into something that I think is worthwhile just on the story side. Like if that's all somebody played it for, the story and characters, that aspect is good enough all on it's own. They've really improved as the game has gone on. What they've done with creating so many vivid characters and weaving them into some kind of story and even doing a solid job with the player protagonist thing. All that deserves a lot of praise.

The gatcha/gameplay side is kind of a different conversation. Speaking just for myself here, I'm really not satisfied with where they're at on that side of things. I really don't think they are justifying almost any of the money people spend on it on that side. I've played other gatcha games and the more you do that the more apparent it is how subpar FGO is in a lot of area's. Some of it's the old engine, I'm sure. But I also think there is a distinct lack of effort in a lot of places and a lack of generosity in others. There really isn't any excuse for it either because they've made like 3 billion dollars from this game and there is no way they've spent even 1% of that on the game itself. There are so many obvious things they could do, that they have the resources to do. That they simply have not done.

Jokes aside, congratz! Tbh I wasn't too pleased with Shimousa as a whole, but at least the ending was pretty good. Considering this is the same writer as Septem and London, this is a pretty big improvement already
