By numbers, I ranked it 4th amongst the 48 anime I watched in 2014. Behind Mawaru Penguindrum, Steins;Gate and Shinsekai yori. Hanasaku Iroha was 5th.

I wonder if there will be more legendary items later in the expansion. I feel legendary items aren't utilized well enough. There could be more IMO but with extremely low drop rate. Then again the fact there are so few make them legendary I guess...

Uh idk...it's kind of goofy that Thrall just fucking left Gorehowl in Nagrand. Some Paladin fanboys though up the idea of using Naaru crystals to forge their own Ashbringers or something...but if you're not a Paladin who the fuck cares. Plus, it has nothing to do with Draenor since there's no undead presence. If you were just going to go with Draenor-influenced weapons the obvious choices are Gorehowl and maybe Atiesh. They could have done something with Kargath's Bladefist...but that just drops from him in Normal Highmaul. Kind of a wasted opportunity, but maybe that isn't "Legendary" enough.

I mean, Legendary Weapons are cool and all, but what you have to go through to get them is pretty extreme. That and it just being useless after a certain point. Hey, the more the merrier, but it's hard to speculate on how much more they're going to add to this expansion.

Yeah, Legendary weapons have kind of lost some "umph" due to the life-cycle of expansions.

Vanilla lasted for eternity, so you had time to get the items, and they were so good that you really didn't get any better. Thunderfury was better than any Naxx sword, despite being made from Blackwing Lair (two tiers below Naxx). Sulfuras (Rag hammer) was eventually outscaled by Naxx 2handers IIRC, as well as I think the 2hander from C'thun in AQ40, but that was a Molten Core weapon so it was alright, especially considering how early MC was in the life of the game. Thunderfury was fucking legendary to get however, with having to kill a World Boss and shit, was so kreygasm event, and it was so insanely cool compared to other swords that you looked like a god to others (and were too, I wanted it so bad for PvP rip..). There was even a legendary in Naxx which was super late in the game, and that was BTW Atiesh if you didn't know =P So weird to have it spawn from Naxx though... Made no sense and felt forced...

The circumstance was also different for TBC. TBC was released with all content available. BT was actually not available though, but it was made available very quickly after launch, and just stood there, taunting guilds to get in. But it took months before anyone could do the bosses inside due to the difficulty in clearing Tempest Keep and Vashj' place whatever it was called. In that sense it was a more fitting way to add legendaries there, since the last raid wasn't thrown out a few months before the end of the expansion, but was available almost from the beginning... After that though Blizzard began with the system they have now. Things aren't "just there but no one can do it anyway". Legendaries would have to scale really hard to be "legendary", or added in the last patch which makes it really shit since they don't last many months...

Were there actually any legendaries in WOTLK? I can't remember there being any O_O That's so odd. Frostmourne......? It didn't deserve it? I realize the lore makes it make no sense to be wielded by heroes, but..... I can't remember there being any in Cataclysm either... MOP had the cape...

Kil'jeaden also dropped a legendary bow (which needed no arrows and made insane damage, so that was pretty hax at the time). Lichking had Shadowmourne, basically a counterpart to Frostmourne, which you had to forge IIRC. Also Val'anyr. There were two in Cataclysm, though I had to look that up. Pretty lame stuff if you ask me, compared to the old legendary's.
