Indeed. They’ll get beaten by the US so no hope of being among the best third. Turkey used to be such a strong second-tier team, it’s sad.RIP to Turkey, incredible that a team with the players they have could be that inept
They're already eliminated. They changed group tiebreakers to head-to-head first, goal differential second. So, because they've already lost to Paraguay and Australia, they have no tiebreaker advantage against whichever team loses in that match, even if they beat the USA in matchday 3.Indeed. Even with that showing, talent alone on that roster tells me they're at least a level above Qatar. Their manager is just a moron IMO. People seem to think he's better than just another Turkish manager but Montella has never accomplished anything of note in his managing career. I think he won the Supercoppa with Milan, but that's it... He insisted on playing a slower playmaker like Guler out wide against Australia, as well as a tiny false 9 in a cross-heavy strategy against a team with 3 giant centerbacks. They got punched in the mouth early against Paraguay and he had no ideas even against 10 men. Just terrible.Turkey sucked hard so bad. IMO they are Qatar level now
The win from Egypt! Yahoo!

Probably makes sense to wait until after the last matchday for a better picture perhaps. Though I think Golden Ball is probably a more interesting discussion personally.Yo @xi0 think you could add a poll to this thread regarding the Golden Boot?
I enjoyed the therapy session he had on the sidelines after the first oneFinally. Tournament starts now
First player to score in six world cups is a record that will just never be broken. Absolutely awesome longevity.

Won’t Golden Ball go for Messi though? The guy has already broken Miroslav Klose’s record, will score all or near enough of Argentina’s goals, and Argentina will likely go far in the tournament.I enjoyed the therapy session he had on the sidelines after the first one![]()

Would certainly be the betting favorite but kinda depends how far each team goes IMO. If Argentina have an early exit and someone like Mbappe or Haaland keeps scoring then I think you can argue they'd deserve it more. Messi's accomplishment is insane but if his team performs worse than others then the Golden Ball argument has to become weaker.Won’t Golden Ball go for Messi though? Even as a frenchie, even if France actually wins the Cup, I don’t see Mbappe getting Golden Ball. Could be wrong though.
It's really only because Swiss didn't come to play against themFinal matchday starts today. Can't believe how open Group B is. Even Qatar have a somewhat slim chance of going through....
