Choosing to skip the negatives and focus only on the positive stuff.

The fight scenes were handled and animated well, in particular Hancock's, Doflamingo severing Oars leg, the Ursus Shock and parts of Oars vs the Giant Squad. The flashbacks were okay imo, I thought they wouldve added more content to it but seems right the way it was.

Next week looks awesome, Whitebeard crushing VA Ronse with his bubble quake, I wonder what colour it will be and Whitey Bay looks good too.

PS: did you see the filler Rear Admiral that saved Coby??

The best part of the episode was boa fighting.....she look better thani thought she would.

I liked this episode.
But the best thing about it was the music while oars was trying to reach ace after being hit by moria. same music as when luffy told iva that if he doesn't try to save ace he would regret it.
someone knows how the music title of that is?
I'm about to buy that from amazon i think.

T__T Little Oars Jr. I don't care what the anime did to the scene (which was good), but it's still sad to see him reach out, so close to Ace, only to get struck down. And oh god, the music. The music hurt the most.

One thing that did surprise me though was when Coby was saved in that filler bit. It actually adds more impact to how helpless he feels. I think, if after the 2 years skip, he ends up as badass as I expect him to be, the anime almost makes better point at presenting why he feels so useless and would strive to get stronger. Odd.

A slight improvement...

I really like the colours used in the anime for Oars. My favourite part was when Oars KO'd the Giant Squad; they seriously got owned. Very satisfying to watch. Ursus Shock was awesome but I thought the long delay was unnecessary. Moria's Tsuno-Tokage attack on Oars just looked wrong imo in the anime. Though in the manga it looked really good.

Is it a good translation?
I think "Wa Kingdom" or "Kingdom of Wa" is much better.

Same place the zombie samurai is from. An island in the new world. It was translated as wano back then too.

It's actually a pun: Written as 和国 (Wakuni - "peaceful/harmonic country") it's an alternative name for Japan, and it's used in literary language.

But Oda wrote it ワノ国, so "Wano Kuni"/Wano Country seems correct to me as layman.

I enjoyed the episode alot but WHY THE HELL DID OARS JR. JUST STAND THERE WHEN KUMA THREW THE URSUS SHOCK? HE COULDN'T HAVE TRIED TO SMACK IT DOWN OR IN THE AIR OR AWAY. AND DON'T SAY MOBILITY BECAUSE HE WAS MOVING WHEN FIGHTING THOSE GIANTS.

The episode was pretty cool. The whitebeard powning the straight sh!t outa that giant was epic. The garp moment with ace was a tearjerker. And LUFFY IS ON THE SCENE. Most epic one piece entrance ever. In the manga and the anime.

Alright, very good episode. Although it was a bit slow at times (especially around the first 3 minutes), the second half really made up for it. Akainu killing the cowardly Marine soldier for running away from the battlefield. Whitebeard completely owning Vice Admiral Ronse by using his Devil Fruit. Luffy showing up at the end, finally!

this episode was great, finally things are picking for the anime. I didn't really like the Impel Down adaption but they should do justice to this arc, they have to!

I really liked this episode, and for the most part Toei's impression of the war...
It was awesome to see WB simply own VA Ronze (or whatever his name is) and to see Garp's struggle. It was cool to see that the Rear Admiral filler from last week resolved itself this week with the death of previously mentioned R.A. Clean and efficent filler material IMO has helped in this arc where in some others they have seemed almost unrelated or otherwise pointless.

I really think the anime of the war really helps better depict the chaos and action in the manga. With all the changes in action and new characters in play, for me at least the anime has helped to "flesh out" the madness of the war. Of course I love the manga and personally prefer it...

Gotta love Luffy and Co. arguing with each other as they plummet towards the war and seemingly death.. What an entrance indeed!!!

Oh god, that was harsh. Watching Garp, who must know that he's getting old and won't naturally outlive any of his grandsons, have to try and deal with the unnatural fact that his grandson will, under these conditions, die before him. And he can't do a thing to protect him because of his duty to the Marines.

It actually feels even more tragic in the anime. And trust me, it was bad enough in the manga.


........50 bucks says I'm going to be a bawling, emotional wreck by the end of this arc. >_<

Garp's dilemma, that's well shown. Oh, and I really like this episode. I think it's because they've used timely some good OP soundtracks. After all, OP soundtracks are what makes its anime great.
