I cant imagine how people can sit around and use a phone with a cracked screen, I see so many of my students with iphones and cracked/cracking screens it looks so distracting.

Kinda understandable when you're talking about poor students. I know my brother had a cracked screen on one of his phones for longer than I would have put up with it. But even if you pay for insurance, it's usually still pretty expensive to replace, especially when you can just get a brand new one every two years, or ever year in some cases.

Soo.... these "poor students" would pay for 2 year contracts on their phones? It doesn't sound reasonable, those are expensive as hell. At least a few years ago when I crunched some numbers it seemed that way....

In most cases I know, they are in a family plan with their parents. It's a lot cheaper to do that and share resources instead of having your own contract.

Pay-as-you-go or prepaid seems to be cheaper for a sole user, no?

That depends on the user's usage though, doesn't it. How cheap/expensive is mobile data in the states?

I doubt you are unaware of Evernote, but it's one of my most used app in my phone esp. for taking notes. If I want to use Notepad-esque app, I use Writer instead.

The problem I have with Evernote is it feels more like a file cabinet and less like a notebook. It's great for capturing things spontaneously, but organizing is a whole nother matter. Most evident when I'm doing some brainstorming or making idea boards. In that regard, the UI is much inferior to OneNote. OneNote's UI makes itself feel like an actual notebook. You can touch/click anywhere and start jotting away much like you would on an actual page, and its formatting options is richer than Evernote's.

But the problem with OneNote is it feels incomplete as an app on Android. It doesn't even get the basic functions down properly. I've had syncing problems when I'm hopping from my mobile devices to desktop which is frustrating. No way to drag textboxes around like on the web app (which is the best thing about OneNote). The web clipping feature is useless compared to Evernote; everything is saved as a URL link. The little things which add up and just breaks the user experience.

I wish Evernote and OneNote would get together and make a baby. :<

So if the stuff I just read about is correct then samsung just went the "super saiyan" way with the whole smartphone name thing. In a way they were already doing that considering the S1 through S6 and recently they started going with "edge" but it seems they recently registered the name " Samgung galaxy edge plus" (SGEP). What's next? "Samsung galaxy edge plus X-2 super saiyan 7"?

Have the s6 now.
Upgraded from the s4.
Love the phone and I can almost put up with the non removable battery and no sd card.
However, the battery life -

Not sure on what to feel for the s6 edge plus.
Hope they wont push that - too much phones or variants.
Really interested in the Note 5 series. Waiting for the specs. :cries

Pretty good week for people who like a close-to-stock Android experience (like me).

Oneplus 2 revealed, pricing starts from $329.

Moto X Style, X Play, and G (2015) revealed.

Moto G is $179/$219 (8GB/16GB respectively)
X Style starts from $399 unlocked.
X Play starts from $299 I think.

Really, really, liking the X Play so far, it looks to be a stamina beast with that 3630mAH battery.

I don't think I'd every buy a Motorola. Yeah, they do seem to have a leg up as far as battery life goes, but my brother has had two and they were nothing but problems to him.

Because as soon as you said he had problems with them, my first thought was "I wonder if it was a Verizon phone".

Motorola is a bit...different in the US. They have their normal stuff where they sell internationally as well (X, G, and E). And then they have their Droid brand which they sell exclusively under the Verizon carrier (Droid Turbo, MAXX). And the ones sold under Verizon are controlled by Verizon and filled with bloatware.

Motorolas are pretty good phones from personal experience.

Well, if you buy a phone from any of the major carriers it's going to have bloatware. Not sure how/if that correlates to him having problems, but it seemed more like software issues with his Droid.

There was a time before Smartphones became the norm where Motorolas made good products, but since then it's gone downhill a bit here in my eyes.

Thoughts on OnePlus Two? I hear some criticisms, but one such is from an Apple fanboy.
