Re: Gintama Discussion

Aha~ I finally found the Gintama thread after MH's revamp.

I hope you guys don't mind me dumping all of my Gintama info here. I wanted to do so in August but I had a hard time logging in due to numerous password resets.

Yeah, it's a super lengthy post but these are everything that I've compiled about Gintama.

Cheerios!

LIST OF RESOURCES (Use the Keyboard shortcut "CTRL-F" to find what you want asap)

4) List of drama CD translations:
http://community.livejournal.com/gintama/221133.html -> Gintama drama CD 3 translation (friend-locked)
http://community.livejournal.com/gintama/176790.html ->Gintama drama CD 2 translation (partially done)

5) Humongous list of Japanese Gintama Fan art sites
http://community.livejournal.com/gintama/207695.html?thread=1539407#t1539407
http://bbs.ikunlun.net/?action=show_topic&topic_id=109669&forum_id=61&class_id=0 -> I prefer looking at this board because there are sample drawings from the fan art sites.

6) To view Gintama manga online
http://comic.sky-fire.com/HTML/YingHun/ (YES, it has chapter 1 to latest chapter but it's chinese Edited Manga - good if you're referencing it to the English translations.)
http://www.onemanga.com ->English Edited Manga as mentioned above. Incomplete as of Aug 24 2007

7) To download Gintama manga volume 18 and 19:
http://community.livejournal.com/gintama/225723.html (volume 18) (friend-locked)

8) To download weekly manga raws:
http://rsf.mangas-fr.com/Ritual.htm
http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1394 -> Has weekly raws of other manga series too.

8.1) To download older chapters
http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1394 -> Their links don't expire that fast unlike Ritualscanforge's. So come here if you missed past raws e.g Chapter 162. For really old chapters e.g Chapter 140, you'd have to ask people but not me. I don't have raws older than chapter 159.

9) Biodata of the characters - This includes their height, birthday and etc
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/銀魂 -> It's in Japanese though. Use this Yahoo translator to translate http://honyaku.yahoo.co.jp/transtext

10) Gintama DVD cover art
http://bbs.ikunlun.net/?action=show_topic&topic_id=92582&forum_id=61&class_id=0 -> It's a chinese Gintama board but you don't need to read chinese to see pictures.

11)View Gintama anime episodes online
Dailymotion has deleted most of the full length Gintama episodes and so has youtube. Veoh likes to remove links on a periodic basis. Thus the most stable sites would be:
http://www.crunchyroll.com -> View English subbed episodes online
http://www.tudou.com/search/programs/index.php?kw=%D2%F8%BB%EA&type= -> Chinese streaming site like youtube. Has OVA, episode 1- latest episode. All episodes are in chinese subtitles.

14) English Fan-subs (Ouch for those who can't understand Chinese)
The English subbers can't beat the Chinese subbers in terms of speed but they do have additional terms and references.
http://www.rumbel-subs.com/ -> Fan-subbing group who have done quite a number of translations for Gintama anime. Even though they are slow, they aren't slow as...
http://www.shinsen-subs.org/ -> Not too sure if they are still doing Gintama, but it's listed as an active project as of Aug 25 2007.

15)Gintama's latest ranking in Weekly Jump

http://www.ankohouse.com/j/Game1/u_kkoomm.html -> I only got this to work. Seems like Gin-san must avoid the Shinsengumi and hit the Yorozuya guys. It's very easy to play, just needs a mouse and goes on endlessly.

I didn't get these two to work due to initialization error. Hope you have better luck than I do. ^^

http://www.ankohouse.com/j/Game3/u_ookkmm.html

21 Buying original DVDs / CDs/ Calendar/ etc.
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/search.html?type=AC&restrict=ALL&strict=&word=gintama -> You should go and buy if you can afford it. ^^ And if you can't, the site is good for drooling at the dvd, cd and calendar photos.
http://www.amazon.co.jp/ -> Copy and paste "銀魂" into the search box. Has quite lot of merchandise too.

Yeah!!! Another Gintama Cover for WSJ #43!
~credits to xio~

The last time it appeared was in WSJ #9?

I wish there are more covers for Gintama. They are usually wacky looking.

Re: Gintama Discussion

To spades: Because I think it's quite sad that nobody has made a list so far. I'd see this kind of compilation for other manga series. e.g. Claymore at forums.animesuki.com.

To nami: There are indeed more color covers! Click on this link:

Spolier for Chapter 182

It seems that Otose and Sacchan meet or something XD I really can't make heads or tails out of this. Gah...its because i haven't been practicing. I can see something about the Yorozuya going to a hospital, and Sacchan doing cosplay as a Nurse, School girl and a Sailor...but its not making sense to me ^^;;;

Re: Gintama Discussion

Spoiler? Though you should take it with a grain of salt.....last weeks wasn't completly right. It seems that Gintoki ends up meeting a boy who is supposed to inherit something from his dead father..but he doesn't want it so he shuts himself in a warehouse. Gintoki goes there to talk to him however a woman stops him and asks if he would like to go to the other world (?) Again i'm getting rusty....i'll try to fix it up ASAP....how nice it would be if other japanese translators would check out the Gintama section ^^;;;

Pics up at my LJ.

Re: Gintama Discussion

This week is Gintoki VS Kyojiro. Kyojiro betrayed the Yakuza because he didn't agree with how Ojiki ran things. He planned on killing Ojiki and then taking over secretly because he knew that Ojiki had many followers. But unfortunatly these followers found out and decide to stop Kyojiro. Kyojiro starts to run away, and Gintoki decides to help him realizing that Kyojiro only wanted to make the Yakuza better. Unfortunatlyl they aren't able to get far as Kyojiro is then shot by one of the members of the Yakuza. Gintoki manages to escape with him but Kyojiro is already at death's door. He asks to be taken to the grave of someone he knew a long time ago, and after Gintoki takes him there he dies beside this grave with a smile on his face.

Re: Gintama Discussion

Madao opens a belt conveyor sushi-shop. Gintoki Shinpachi, Kagura and Tama all come to help out, but something is wrong with the belt (something about rain jackets coming out of it over and over again.)
And so Tama tries to fix it but it breaks so now the sushi that comes out of it is nasty. (Tama tries some and throws up.) Hijikata shows up unexpectantly hearing about the food being good at the shop, but because the Sushi is so nasty they end up surving him a fruit parafat made out of charchole. (XD)

Hijikata: I totally don't understand whats so great about this place...

The machine goes berserk and breaks down completly, and Gintoki and the others just barely make it out before that.

End.

Re: Gintama Discussion

Spoilers for the week!

A shinsengumi chapter, first time they've been bak for a while....and there are new characters!

(Its a really weird summary though...so forgive my shoddy translation.)

Putting a picture of Hijikata in the bathroom makes the Shinsengumi members feel like spending less time int there, so Okita puts one over the stalls, and the members can't even Sh*t anymore. Three newbies are hired to clean the bathrooms since they're not familiar with Hijikata's face.

Because of the sudden restroom reform, people can't use the Bathroom so the new guys draw faces over the stalls so the shinsengumi people feel more confortable. *Also goes on to say that Kondo sticks his....yeah into one of the faces and cries tears of happiness and shame that he can use the bathroom again.* The three new guys leave out and thats the end for the week.
