I think anyone giving Gray a mid or less difficulty win would be misjudging Erza or Gray in some way.

Erza would probably win with high difficulty. The gap between them isn't as large as it used to be but I don't think Gray has quite surpassed her yet

Nakagami isn't the decisive factor for Erza to win. She essentially used it once to take out Minerva, and had assistance against Ajeel.

Erza has no feats of Anti-Ice Armor, so it's pretty much a sure bet that she would get f*cked by Gray in Alvarez Arc.

Erza has Anti-Flame Armor to counter Natsu and Anti-Space Armor to counter Minerva, but she has no Anti-Ice Armor to counter Gray if we go by feats.

No you don't. But she's got an armour for everything else. Maybe ice is just too fodder to worry about having an armour to stop it... or she could melt it with flame empress.

Why would Erza need an anti-ice armor in the first place? It's not like Erza used sand empress armor to reduce the damage dealt by Ajeel's sand by 50%. Unless Gray's attacks are twice as powerful as anything Ajeel has got (and there's nothing to suggest this right now), Erza should be able to adequately trade blows with Gray. Wouldn't Fire-Empress armor be sufficient if it's just to press an elemental advantage? I really don't see why she would need one in the first place. It's not like melting the ice is a necessity. You can simply smash the ice.

Erza needs anti-ice armor against Gray just like she needs anti-flame amor against Natsu. You don't need an armor against sand cuz sand doesn't burn or freeze you. Sand has no internal effects, the sand will simply trap you or gash your skin.

Fire burns you, if you don't want to be a charcoal by the end of the fight, having some anti armor would be helpful.

Ice is extremely cold, if you don't want to have your blood frozen, some anti armor would be good to reduce its effects.

Smashing Slayer ice is no easy feat either. Compared to regular ice, slayer ice is durable.

There is a reason why slayer ice can instafreeze Atlas flame's flame. A regular ice Mage would have to put high concentration energy and tremendous effort to accomplish just freezing the base.

Besides, Gray can reduce the atmosphere's temperature low enough to make the weather conditions unfavorable to Erza. On the other hand, that same temperature will energize Gray.

I'm not saying the armor is made out of ice and will repell ice 100%, but she will need some sort of thick clothing to resist the freezing temperature.

Which of course will restrict her movement still and give Gray the advantage.
