Most likely fill the experience bar through grinding, no?

I don't know. I was just guessing the phrase, anyway.

There's some grinding in most MMOs, sure. But having most of the leveling/questing being fill-the-bar seems super lazy and is uninspiring to me. It's all relative of course, and I understand why this method is used sometimes. The thinking from developers is that there is a bit of freedom to the player to complete an objective the way they want to, within certain parameters. That being said, in practice it's incredibly boring and repetitive, especially when it's pretty much all they offer in the way of gaining xp. In GW2, the game is held up by exploration/immersion and possibly gameplay/combat. But the way in which you progress your character is just dull as hell to me.

ohh so you meant the quest bars? I see

I see your point, I don't mind it as much however. I guess overtime I got kinda used to that kind of thing. Previous MMO's I played had similar mechanics, and I don't particularly mind it.

Does there exist another system for leveling your character? I mean the hero points for the skills is slightly interesting? I'm just asking because you said xp bars are dull so I figured you must have played another RPG where leveling was done outside of fill in the xp bar?

As far as I know, no. But there are different ways to fill the bar though, try karma trains (if those still work the same as they used to anyway kek)

Cabal Online had skill exp, so, you were leveling up abilities each time you use it. It also had my favourite exp filling, because you only needed to hit something to gain exp, not kill it.

I'm not talking about an xp bar. I would think most RPGs would have it if they have levels as progression. I'm talking about every quest requiring you to fill a bar up to complete it. Rather than just collecting so many of this thing or killing so many of this mobs.

Oh. But isn't the collecting x amount of items. or killing x amount of mobs the traditional system?

As far as i know, the giving you a diverse list and then saying fill it up to finish in this area isn't very traditional. Most games just gave you an objective and hit you with the peace sign.

Now that I'm done with this lvl 35 story questline, what next? I mean, it's fine going around and doing stuff, but is there anything else I'm supposed to do?

Level. Lmao.

I hear the 'end game content' is pretty spectacular vs the standard assortment.

You could also dip your toes in pvp. As a trial run ofc. They level you to 80 so the only difference is gear (not sure the math, but i hear it doesn't make a terrible difference...) you are still fully capable of taking on better geared players.

At the very least it grants a few days of entertainment, maybe test the different wep set ups and learn the better ones for pvp with a mix of Utility, damage, and mobility.

Or stand around the town center and BM everyone that passes. Either or
