Hiro isn't going to do a Darker series. It kinda sucks bc his willingness to kill characters and let them stay dead is why Rave was so dope. The problem with FT was he pigeonholed himself by not wanting anyone to die, and he was too worried about his ending being compared to other shounen of this age which kind of marred his manga and its popularity.

Not to mention Haru got a fake death. Elie should have been dead. Musica got a fake death before he turned into werewolf.

Sieghart dies, his father dies and a free others do as well. Way more than what happens in this series. An you have to remember that these series are aimed at kids not us.

Zeref was Natsu's Sieghart. They even both shared the locket. Zeref had his of him and Natsu while Sieghart had his of Elle. Instead of Zeref traveling 50 years into the past and dying without doing anything to change the timeline, Zeref lived 400 years causing many events to happen in the world, Rave just executed it better.

Reina died for Musica while Ur and Silver both died for Gray. He also was a prominent thought in Ultear's sacrifice in Gmg. Juvia's fake death was paralleled a Nagisa's assault when she was captured and Musica assaulted her captors with his bare fist.

Igneel and daddy Glory both died.

Even Niebel lived in the end as s boy even tho he sacriced hid life.

The only death that was truly different was Shiba died while Makarov lived.

Igneel and Gale died pretty much died the same way "Hello son after so many years. I have to die now because of a dragon, see ya" . If only Gale stepped on that dragon step. The only difference Gale was more of a deadbeat because Igneel technically never left.

I’d have to say I disagree, the whole final arc felt like he had serious burnout to me. Think we’ll see something completely different in style and tone (and probably not for a while yet?) maybe he’ll commission out a spin-off series again to another artist, or return to it a few years down the line (he’s left it very open in case he wants to revisit it).

I think you're right, He created many plot holes and left many things unexplained it's a sign of boredom but since he contributed in the next anime project, There is a decent probability in stretching fights and adding many things that didn't actually happen in the manga. Maybe that's the reason why he used many shortcuts in the manga. A revisit may happen if he started the new series, like the FT x RM crossover Omake. Anyways he know very well that FT made him very popular. I'm very certain that he will promote his new series by involving FT somehow.

Yeah hopefully they can do something to improve it - it would actually be nice if they do some stuff with just Natsu and Lucy goofing around before going into the Avatar arc properly when the series returns, though I don’t know how likely that is... as has been suggested he might have been under pressure from his editors/ WSM to wrap it up in a certain number of chapters, that’d likely be a headache and a half and leave little time for really expanding on plot points when he’s just scrambling to tie up all the loose ends, we might never know - it could be a bit of each I guess. Yeah I certainly think the odd thing like that is still possible, and maybe eventually more canon material, either fromMashima himself or someone else with his permission - no worries, I haven’t been able to get on here myself for a while!

Oh my bad. Didn't see it. I just think it would be dope. An also that at this point it seems like a good fit for him to focus on a female cast, an at this point he almost has his own tournament squad worth of protagonists. A girl would be a good fit, an that would be an interesting twist and still match the stuff he tends to enjoy doing. An i think it would be dope. An if it exists hopefully my daughter can enjoy it later down the line.

I’m leaning towards a continuation of Fairy Tail to focus on the 100 Year Quest. Since Mashima mentioned that if there was a continuation of Fairy Tail then Mashima will have Lucy find Aquarius’s Key. Which makes me think the 100 Year Quest will be a Galuna Island 2.0. Also I think there will be spin offs about what the Fairy Tail members and other guilds are doing while Team Natsu are on the 100 Year Quest.

In all seriousness, when I found in Kodansha's Twitter that Mashima is looking for love in his next work, I couldn't help but think that he's going to remake SM manga, just because there are lots of romance in it and overall, it has the same feel as his works. Just to assure my guess, there are some links/evidences between SM and his works (Rave and FT), despite the screaming differences between them.
1st Evidence ~ Did you see that pattern?: In FT, there are some characters that surprisingly resemble some of SM's Sailor Scouts, mainly in power.

• Sailor Moon => Either Sting Eucliffe or Mavis Vermillion: Sailor Moon shares a similar appearance and powers with Sting Eucliffe, considering that her attacks are holy light based, however, if I take in account the Silver Crystal as an unlimited power source, then I'd rather compare her to Mavis, due to Fairy Heart having a similar description.
• Sailor Mercury => Gray Fullbuster: In SM's Fandom, Sailor Mercury's powers are more Ice based than Water, despite having Water elemental attacks. And thanks to that there are some crossover fanfics that focus on them. This similarity can be more obvious if we take in account the fact that Gray shares two Unison Raids with Juvia, a Water elemental mage.
• Sailor Mars => Natsu Dragneel: Both of them possess fire powers and are short-tempered people. That's quite obvious.
• Sailor Jupiter => Laxus Dreyar: Both are lightning elemental and are really, REALLY strong physically. Another obvious one.
• Sailor Venus => Gajeel Redfox (The beauty and the beast): Despite Venus being the "Yang" (light and metal) and Gajeel being the "Yin" (dark and metal), their similarity become strong when take in account the Crystal version of Venus, which is more metal based than light based, power-wise.
• Sailor Uranus => Jellal Fernandes: Gotta praise the heavens! The Heavenly Body Magic is what links him with Sailor Uranus "The Distant Heavenly King" with outer space themed attacks.
• Sailor Neptune => Juvia Lockser: Is there any need to explain?
• Sailor Pluto => Ultear Milkovich: "Time-Space Continuum" is the keyword.
• Sailor Saturn => Zeref Dragneel: Both have "Death Magic" as their power, granting OP status. Zeref can even break the 4th wall and Saturn can insta-grow into a teenager!
• Sailor Galaxia => Acnologia: Both of them are OP as well as Saturn/Zeref, have an unknown element attribute, and their goal is to kill every one of the same kind as them. Not to mention their titles.

2nd Evidence ~ Rave characters = SM villains?: Very ambiguous/inaccurate, isn't it? Let me explain. Have you seen the early designs of Haru, Shuda and Reina? They share a similar appearance of Demando, Rubeus and Esmeraude, three of the Black Moon Arc's villains of SM, respectively! Truly a case of anime doppelgangers/twins separated at birth.
3rd Evidence ~ Have Fukuro watched/read SM?: In FT, one of the quotes of Fukuro, one of ToH Arc's villains, is "In the name of justice, I'll punish you!" which parallels Sailor Moon's punch-line "In the name of moon, I'll punish you!"... And he says it while doing Venus' pose.
4th Evidence ~ Has Hiro been inspired by Naoko before making his own stories, and didn't he tell anyone?: This similarity is more technical than artistic. Rave is close to the dark fantasy concept, while FT is basically a cluster of different arcs with little to no connection between them, not to mention that Natsu sometimes goes commando, finishing enemies in one blow (also known as one-shot). For me, Rave has inherited the darkness of SM arcs and FT has inherited the PoF, Natsu's exaggerate protagonism and one shots (paralleling Sailor Moon's), Lucy's hopelessness (paralleling Mamoru's), story structure, ****** fanservice(believe it or not!), and many more things, making FT more close to SM in overall (if not a "genderbent" version of this series, technically). Not to tell that the whole Exceed thing has been inspired in SM's Moon Cats, too.

I always thought Lucy was more Sailor Moon with the keys to the stars while Sting is more Sailor Venus.
