Re: Yupi vs. Biscuit

biscuit is strong no doubt but going by only what i've seen so far. im giving it to yupi. biscuit seems more like a direct type with her "form return thingy". you know. where she gets all big and muscular. yupi is an absolute monster though. you need some pretty crafty and indirect tactics to take down yupi. i dont think biscuit has shown much of that.

Re: Yupi vs. Biscuit

As much as bisk is one of my favorite characters and I do think there are very few hunters who would be able to keep up with her I can't imagine her winning. Her hatsu is basically a portable spa thingy, it has no real battle applications. It is outright awesome outside of a battle (it worked in a HPTC kinda way for gon and killua for instance) but it won't help to fight the ant. Basically, bisk has to win using her physical capacities here. In that sense, she should be physically weaker than the ant and have inferior amount of nen for the most part. She also has to deal with limbs coming out of everywhere, explosions and a number of other things. With the abilities bisk has shown so far I do think she can win.

Re: Yupi vs. Biscuit

I think Bisuke is a pretty straightforward powerhouse type of fighter, and Yupi is a stronger straightforward powerhouse type of fighter, so it's just bad news for Bisuke. If we'd seen her fight more against tough opponents, or show resourcefulness, or if she had a more useful hatsu, maybe it would be different, but as it stands I doubt the spa treatments would make her strong enough to beat up Yupi in a straightforward battle. It feels like it's an ability for her convenience so she can be well-rested and not look like a giant monster more than helping her a huge amount in a fight.

Re: Yupi vs. Biscuit

I agree with everyone. Same kind of fighting style but Yupi is a monster.

IMO, there is almost no one who can beat the royal guard one on one. You almost need a "cheat code" to beat them ... you need "specialization" nen or a nen power with a huge restriction/condition to be activated.

Re: Yupi vs. Biscuit

None of us have really seen what Biscuit is capable of in a fight. She has muscles coming out from everywhere and she did train Gon and Killua to a high level. If she is one of the top level hunters in the world then she should be able to damage Yupi somewhat. Netero was inferior in terms of Nen to all the Royal Guards but was able to fight the Ant King to the point where he actually felt pain So "nen" amount does not equate to strength. If Knuckle could knock some since into Yupi then I'm sure Biscuit would be able to. Although when it comes down to it however Yupi's latest jump in power probably put him on a level higher than the other royal guards. I'd like to fight for Biscuit but when it comes down to it Yupi would probably win.

Re: Yupi vs. Biscuit

Well, knuckles punches were pretty much able to knock around yupi (we saw that a couple of times actually) so I am sure bisk's punches will actually hurt like hell. I mean, bisk is a professional hunter who has trained her body to the utmost extremes and fully developed her nen. Knuckle is very skilled but he is still an apprentice of murao's for the most part and a fairly young hunter. The only problem bisk has is that in this fight she, unlike knuckle, does not have meleoron so she will be fully exposed to yupis attacks. If her ability had actual battle applications then things would be different though.

Re: Yupi vs. Biscuit

The problem with scenarios involving characters like these is one that affects Hunter x Hunter as a whole: Togashi rarely discloses sufficient material upon which to predicate a definitive response.

Biscuit disclosed to Gon and Killua that circumstance is a fundamental variable in combat. Generally, opinion (perhaps rightfully) seems to favour Yupi in terms of overall strength, but this discounts the contextual factors that Biscuit discussed; on a bad day for Yupi--operational at 60%, for example--it wouldn't be inconceivable for Biscuit to emerge victorious, assuming she could tap her potential fully. In terms of probability, hence, a victory for Yupi is more probable than one for Biscuit--but it isn't a foregone conclusion.

Now, if these bouts are conducted on the theoretical assumption of 100% performance, the odds are in Yupi's favour--but I'd be reluctant to give him the vote based on the understanding that he possesses more power than Biscuit, as I feel that would undermine the axiom that Togashi underscored through Biscuit's discussion of context. Circumstance plays such a pivotal role in the series that certainty is very difficult to come by--perhaps crucially in the case of Biscuit, whose battles Togashi has adeptly chosen to truncate, forbidding us from perceiving what she can really do in battle.

Yupi, however, has demonstrated a propensity for evolution during battle; to adapt to circumstance. I'm wondering if this--even in light of Biscuit's unseen talents--would give him the edge to prevail. Would Biscuit be able to fell him before he could transmogrify into something more capable of tackling the situation?

Re: Palm vs. Illumi

tough call.... i feel like palm's "black widow" sure be mentioned in her description but meh, any real HxH fan knows about her powers anyway :P . im gonna have to think more about this one before i cast my vote. palm proved too be strong offensively and defensively but its hard to say to what extent. and we haven't seen much of illumi, other than those needles. can illumi pierce palm's black window with those needles? gonna need to do some manga diving and learn more about the scope of their abilities and experience first :D .

Re: Palm vs. Illumi

The mentally unstable Palm vs the manipulator Illumi ... Seriously, Illumi have no trouble to win this one. It's not a matter of nen or abilities. Illumi would simply break Palm mentally.

Re: Palm vs. Illumi

I think it's a clear victory for Palm. Based on what we've seen him do, I see no reason why Illumi's power would pose a huge threat to her. His ability to disguise himself would be completely counteracted by Palm's ability to track him with her power. I highly doubt his needles would pierce black widow. Palm seems to be VERY difficult to hurt, yet Gon was strong enough to break Illumi's arm AGES ago. I don't see any reason to believe Illumi has a speed advantage either. Killua certainly seemed to be impressed with Palm's speed. So basically, we haven't seen Illumi fight much yet, but based on our current knowledge I can't think of anything from the manga that would give me confidence that Illumi would win.

Re: Palm vs. Illumi

Illumi strikes me as a higher level nen user than palm in general. Above that, isn't he a manipulator? Changing his own appearance is but one ability he possesses. His needles can do a lot more than just that. Take the mindrape needle he used on killua, it basically forced killua to retreat from battle. Gon did break illumi' arm however, did illumi use his nen at that moment to defend himself? I doubt it. As we saw before, when killia fought that sushi kid it was killua who had the advantage in every way yet a simple nen level allowed sushi to not take any damage whatsoever from the full might of killua. i don't think illumi used nen at all when he got his arm broken.

I don't think palm would win this one. Her clairvoyance is not much of an asset in an actual fight to begin with. As a human she does not stand a chance in hell IMO. Her black widow thing would be more of a challenge. I went through the fight between killua and palm and I don't really see how palm would beat illumi. For one thing, killua without kanmuru could actually keep up with palm (he was overwhelmed by her sheer attack power though) so I don't think she would be a fast enough enemy for illumi, who should have had a similar training to killua to begin with and is a much more experienced nen user(in all fairness, without kanmuru either killia or gon would be blitzed by knuckle or his partner). I think illumi is a higher level nen user in general, his ability has many applications and would for the most part defeat palm.

Re: Palm vs. Illumi

i also think illumi would murder palm with tricks and some psychologial warfare, even if we didnt see much of him, he is killuahs obstacle to surpass, like hisoka for gon

i dont believe palm would be an strong opponent for him :/

but its awesome how they look alike xD

Re: Palm vs. Illumi

How would Illumi know that Palm was mentally unstable or think to show her Gon's face? I don't think he even knows who she is.

Re: Palm vs. Illumi

We needed 2 panels to know that Palm is mentally unstable. It really isn't hard to figure that out. About Gon's face, it's just a stupid example (even though she speak about gon every 2 panels :D).

Finding a weakness into Palm's personality should not be a big challenge for Illumi.
