So Gate 7 is turning into another Sengoku themed series? While it's about the reincarnations of the folks from that period in the present time, but I have ask why they would do that... Can't they just leave Nobunaga alone?

I hope more Jump SQ series to get animation. I, personally, want Embalming, Binbougami ga, and Ultimo to become animation.

Gate 7 will probably get an anime "just because" it's from CLAMP.

TLRD "might" get an OAD... who knows...

And I agree that a Binbougami anime would awesome The SQ thread on 2ch had a huge debate about this a few weeks ago...

Not so sure about Ultimo :/

Embalming's story is great, but it'd be a pain for the series producer to put it into an actual anime series, with it jumping around like that.

If Gekka can pull together and stay around for another year or two, it'd be nice to see an animation for it.

Gate 7, To Love-Ru, and Shin Prince of Tennis are definite. They just need more time.

I didn't know there was a debate on Binbougami's animation. I'm little curious on this one; the reception and ranking are good, but the tank sales remain low. So, is which one more important to decide on making animation, reception or tank sales?

Ultimo has hope for animation. It's getting a vomic and Stan's other manga work, Heroman, did get animatino. So there is still chance for Ultimo.

I think Embalming can make animation, like up to the end of London arc.

It's kind of too early to judge on animation for Gekka Bijin, since we're not sure it's tank sales; plus its ranking is pretty low.

Lastly, there is no hope for animation on Luck Stealer.

I think it's more about the stuidio's/sponsor's preferences, on whether to make an offer to the publisher. If sales is the only indication, a lot of Shoujo series would have zero chance of getting an anime.

Binbougami's tank is really unfortunate, considering the fact that the author puts in so much extra materials into the tanks... (I would buy the whole set if it isn't because for Amazon not stocking up on the set purchase option... The entry for 1-8 and 1-9 had been created for months, but it was never in stock).

Negative, what do you think about the odds for Kurenai, Claymore, and Rosario getting additional seasons?

Gate 7 is inevitable. TLR just got a new Anime, right? So TLRD will probably get one eventually.

Ultimo... eh... Now that AnE got an Anime there's not much left for SQ though.

Well, Kurenai keeps getting OVA, so I'm not sure it'll get another TV animation.

Claymore and Rosario had anime original ending, so if they did get another season of anime, then the story going to be very different from manga. So, I think if both of them going to get anime, then they should reboot like FMA.

I've been reading Binbogami Ga! And I'd like to see an anime for it too! Though my main hope is Gekka hangs in there long enough to get an anime, since I love Endou Tatsuya's art aesthetic. I used to think that a Vomic was a good thing for this, but it seems like anything that lasts a while gets a Vomic despite sales or ranking. :/

I need to read some more Embalming before I can really support that, and more Claymore would be nice once it ends or something.

I'm glad more people are reading Binbougami now...

Back when it started, I wasn't really impressed, and Ichiko's personality really pissed me off. However, I caught up to it around Vol.5, and never stopped afterward.
On top of the author's drawing improving (there were drastic changes between Vol.1~3), it's really witty and reminds me greatly about Gintama (the serious/gag switch parts).

I personally really like Gekka, and I always look forward to reading it each month. Gekka is right behind TLRD and Binbougami as the series I flipped to first when my SQ gets to me

Similar to Gintama? Yeah it does have that kind of...snarky, cynical tone when it's being funny, and those almost over the top characters and 'heartwarming' moments. It COULD be seen as similar to Gintama yeah.

I liked Endou's first work -Tista, back when it was running so I was really happy to see him return with Bijin. I tried to translate the first one, but grad school has no mercy. I still follow it raw when I can find them...^^;; and it's a series that's a lot of fun. The art has this style that's simultaneously similar to OP and Bleach; and Endou's got a great sense of humor and storytelling. I just hope it gets a long run, especially with it's low rankings...

Well, the main thread is pretty slow (5 months and it's not even 400 posts), the discussions on the SQ main thread is mixed, with some complaining his art style a bit too retro or too much white spaces in the background... Though a lot of people seem to like the gradual expansion of the series, the characters, and the world and such.

Hm. So it's really varied. WSJ seems to stick to two years if something is selling well enough, maybe even less than that if the fan reaction is good. I see FMA was pretty quick on the draw, not that it's surprising. :-P Soul Eater's not there, but I think that was about 5 years too. I remember the one shots being published in 2003, and the actual anime coming out in 2009 or was it 2010?

Nichijou was 4 years? Though it's hard to remember that it's a sorta 4 koma thing (though some chapters it isn't.) Though, one thing I see in general is Shuiesha stuff seems to get animated faster. (Outside of Claymore).


Back on topic, It's nice to know that at least the series (Gekka Bijin) is receving some general praise, although white space? Really? Bleach is mostly that and it still sells so well. And I dunno if I'd describe the art as 'retro'. Again the characters look kind of like One piece ones, while the sense of style is reminiscent of Bleach. (I've mentioned that series more times in this post than I have in the last year in real life..) But hey, I know you're just telling me what they said. Thanks.

Personally, I don't see that as a problem. I mean sure, the panels with only whites and the character is more than your average series, but Endou is very good at drawing character emotions, and those panels don't really need fancy backgrounds to distract that aspect.

Exactly! You hit it too. Oda's godly at drawing emotions, and because Gekka's art is reminiscent of OP, it's got a great range of emotions too.

Now I want to go back and re-read Gekka to see just how much white Endou uses...

Not as much as Bleach in my view, since Bleach has a lot of white spaces in even the panels with just backgrounds.

If many people complain about white background on Gekka Bijin, then they should say something on Mitokon, too. It is like the author draw the characters and the background separately, then paste the characters on the background.

lol, that's because it's been the way Mangatarou has been drawing for the past decades. It's part of what makes his stuff funny

I mean you don't see people complaining about Misawa has his character's eyes too close together now, do you? (Though the same couldn't be said for the other way around... lol...)
