Gotta say, I think Sousei no Onmyouji is off to a good start. It remains to be seen if Sukino can do a pure action-ish series though. It was more serious than funny though IMO. Too bad it has a lot of onmyouji sutras and stuff which automatically makes it a pain to read and by extension translate. Good luck to anyone who's going to attempt it.

....okay. I guess I'll read all five eventually? Someone actually asked me to translate it but I really don't have time. Do you think the series is any good beyond it's FMA resemblance?

Well, for me, first 4 chapters were kind of so-so; it feels like just typical shounen action manga. But, based on my perspective, it got little bit more interesting on chapter 5.

That's what I thought after reading chapter one. I wanted to read more but didn't have time/interest. Though I guess I'll have to head back and find the other chapters and read them.

Lead character, I guess thats him in the first panel, has a really good design. Curious to see how this series goes if I ever get to read it in english.

Seraph of the End's cover is hot. Hopefully we will be there in english fast. I really cant wait to be current, its my favorite newish manga, and in my top three for JUMP SQ.

Is it? For me, it looks like a copy from Okumura Rin (from AnE).

I'm with Kaizou, it's too similar to other characters, and I can't see any sort of strong visual element going on, which is kinda super crucial. Who knows though, that might not be the visual motif he has going forward. It is only a couple pages after all

I read through volume 1 of Owari no Seraph and it seemed very shounen-ish. Like it had a lot of ideas stereotypical of a Shounen manga with a couple easy-to-see-coming twists and all that. The main character is the "bratty but lovable/ambitious" archtype. So almost exactly like Okamura Rin. A bunch of the other characters were cliches, too.

To be fair, it does those things pretty well. It's not a bad manga. I should read more sometime and see if the characters evolve.

Well, the first part of series are pretty much all-I-have-seen-those-things manga. The series' out tastes going to come if it serialized more.
