But man, people are extremely pissy with my hero academia, complaining about stuff that is present in many other anime to an even bigger extent but for some reason they only focus on it here. Mineta, sexualized teens, you name it.

Momo and Uraraka are in provocative poses, and, while she's invisible, seeing Hagakure toss her bikini bra away is clearly meant to excite people. However, it's not a big deal for me. Exactly, a bit of fanservice will never harm. Problem is that some of this "critics" are ok with sexualising boys but girls should be a taboo for some reason. That's hypocrisy.

Nobody said they're not being sexualized. It's just that it's a stupid thing to complain about since there's tons of manga that do that. As for Hagakure, that's clearly meant for comedy, not to excite people. Otherwise Horikoshi wouldn't do that with the invisible girl.

If you visit the Reddit page(and I think on twitter too), there are some people defending this like we are, but who are also claiming that there isn't any sexualisation at all, which I think is equally ignorant.

Also l find the way they refer to male characters as their "sons" messed up because they're clearly trying to frame it as a maternal, protective sort of love but it's pretty obvious they're using these characters as bean flicking material. lt gives an incestuous vibe to the whole thing that is truly fucked up. But l guess no one will notice if they keep screeching loud enough about how much Mineta deserves to die!

Or about how it's impossible that he passed the test and Shinsou didn't. Or how Shinsou should be in class 1-A even though that would completely miss the point of his character. Or how kaminari is pure and innocent and every perverted thing he does is Mineta's fault... And the list goes on.

There's about as much sexualization as any regular teen magazine released in America. The poses aren't even particularly provocative. Their arms are up and their hips lean to a side. This is a standard pose. In addition, by stating their age you state that 15 yr olds shouldn't be wearing bikinis, essentially telling them what they can and cannot wear. Hagakure might be the only thing remotely provocative but even that's more of a gag element as her entire "invisible girl who goes around naked when heroing" was conceived as a gag element. I'm sure Horikoshi would have done the same had he left Hagakure as a guy like in his initial plans.

I'd say this is an effect of having nothing to discuss. It'll be interesting to see the reaction to the hot springs scene. However, Horikoshi has been getting messages like this for a while and his Mineta jokes are still in full force. Its also possible that he sees them but he's too busy with his regular story and art along with the anime work and movie work along with whatever other things they've got planned in the future. He did mention in the Vol 18 author comment that his schedule is ridiculous.

Problem isn't bikini or poses some people doesn't the way Mineta and Kaminari looking at them. Did you get it? An eye rape BS...
