You see Natsu removing the bandages to fight Zeref , you see Natsu saying he can use it only once , enough said. Assuming Natsu used a metaphor is a lot better than assuming removing those bandages was insignificant , the power rise by several orders of magnitudes which was noted by Zeref was false , and that Natsu was lying about it being a one time use.
He was referring when he used FDKM, those bandages are not insignificant, it just contains/restrains the power, which is proof when he encounters the Spriggan that it acts up, so they are more of a seal as to not be released all at once, it was already active. those FDK spells would just use a portion of the power

Nope. If it was as you say , his bandages would've glowed due to him using Igneel's power. They didn't. Simple.

why would his bandage's glow? it is his mark that glows and they are covered by the bandages, and looking back at it, they just remained the same appearance throughout the entire fire. the only reach change that happens is when they disappeared

Again. First page of the 100 Year Quest flatly says that the members of Fairy Tail were stronger than ever. There's no nerf. In what way would Natsu have been nerfed? People don't just get nerfed for no apparent reason.
There's a huge difference between Natsu trying to use a base mode punch underwater, and Natsu using FDK above water. Natsu was able to vaporize the lake because he was above water and able to get some of his strongest flames going. There is a giant fireball trailing behind him as he enters FDK mode. Sure you can argue that somewhat argue that Natsu started to vaporize the lake water before entering FDK mode, but at that point he was already preparing to use FDK. That's far, faaaaar different than trying to use a regular base mode punch.

Natsu isn't Acnologia level level, and Acnologia didn't try to create flames underwater....So I'm not sure why that is relevant.
Feats say more then words, which only was said for "hype".

You said about reason, ofc it has it, it is named "plot".

Natsu is simply too strong (after Alvarez arc) to face such no-names like these DE. All current events with him is just a mere charade. Similar i can say about Erza.

You said about water and why Natsu failed to boil it, as I see with making base of explanation on physics laws, right? Correct me, if I took you wrong.
If I correctly understand you, then it's hilarious.

Physics & chemical attributes ofc play their respective role, but don't forget about pure magic power and difference between "attacker" and "defender" magic power.
I strongly believe Natsu has magic power at least to boil water.

By the way, why I consider as hilarious such type of explanations?

Because it's double standards again.

1. Natsu failed to boil water - it's ok, he was underwater, it's psychic. (Rule for 1st type)

2. Skullion turned water into ash - how he great! (Rule for 2nd type)

If I didn't forget all physics from school, water is H20 or H-O-H.
2H20 (liquid) x T -> 2H2 (gas) + O2 (gas).
As wikipedia says "Ash or ashes are the solid remains of fires. Specifically, it refers to all non-aqueous, non-gaseous residues that remain after something is burned".
Usually it's quartz, hematite, magnetite and various calcium silicates.

Now rhetoric question - if someone explains case with Natsu and water in sequel (only with physics laws), should same person consider Skullion case with turning water into ash as purest BS ?!

I am with anyone who says Natsu in Alvarez> Natsu now .

What he did in Alvarez and what he did now
This is very clear.

The fact that Natsu beat Zeref (Although this fight nonsense)
After this, he can easily beat anyone weaker than Zeref

But now he suffers with all his opponents, even Gajeel.

I can only say
-The balance of power in Alvarez is nonsense as we all know
-Natsu is now nerfed
-The balance of power is back to normal and this is the true level of Natsu.

Saying that Natsu has been nerfed for "plot" is absolutely meaningless. It's what people say when they've run out of excuses. You still have no actual explanation for why Natsu was nerfed.

Natsu's feats now are just as good as during the Alvarez arc. Arguably even better. He's tanked a roar from Mercphobia, who is stronger than any Spriggan. He beat Gajeel, who was stronger than Bloodman. Then he beat Makarov, who decked Jacob. Then he managed to deal damage to Madmole, who survived attacks that would have oneshotted Jacob or Neinhart. Natsu's feats in the current arc all scales towards stronger opponents than his feats during the Alvarez arc. People are just choosing to ignore it because apparently boiling water is the end all be all of heat feats.

I never said Natsu can't boil water. Of course he can boil water. When he can actually get flames going. What he can't do is boil away a flood created from the Water God Dragon using a regular base mode punch, especially not from underwater.

Your chemistry needs work. H20 multiplied by T (which I am assuming temperature) doesn't actually mean anything. Also, adding heat to H20 doesn't create O2 and 2h. It creates water vapor. It's still h20. Just gaseous. Skullion can turn water into ash. He's not burning the water with ash. He is literally turning the water into ash. Ash is not the solid form of fire btw. Ash is the remains of objects after fire has acted upon it.

It is not meaningless, especially when it obviously shows enemies who do not hold account to previous enemies in the first series. And Natsu’s powers seem to be more selective of how they are useful for convenience by the author

It's completely meaningless because it's not an actual explanation. Give me one actual reason why Natsu would have been weaker going from Alvarez to the 100YQ.

so you admit that the “stronger than ever” thing is not an explanation, good, well for one thing he does not show any feats that are akin to what he showed in Alvarez and his power ups are exclusive and the Alvarez enemies are confirmed stronger

When did I say anything remotely close to that? I'm saying saying that a character has been nerfed because of plot is meaningless. The "stronger than ever statement" is a line given by the narrative canon, It's simply true.

Natsu has better feats than he had during the Alvarez arc:
  • Tanked Mercphobia's roar. Mercphobia is stronger than any Spriggan
  • Beat Gajeel. Gajeel beat Bloodman
  • Beat Madmole. Madmole tanked shots from Mirajane and Natsu that would oneshot Jacob
  • Beat Makarov. Makarov smashed Jacob back in Alvarez.

You just did, I quoted you on it. Not meaningless when the current showings contradict the supposed “narrative canon” which is not anything relevant.

Total nonsense. I said that saying Natsu has been nerfed for "plot" is meaningless. You said that it's not meaningless. I said it's absolutely meaningless because it offers no explanation. Then you turn around and claim that I am saying the narrative line confirming that "Fairy Tail is stronger than ever" thing is not an explanation. What a disgusting lie.

Evaporation of water is actually psychics and not chemistry as I believe, but i mean another.

With high temperature molecules of water disintegrate into hydrogen and oxygen, so if you actually "burn" water (it depends on pressure and other things ofc) with T = 1.5 k - 2.5 k C - you get gazes with ZERO solid remainings (ash)

Because water consist by two gazes - hydrogen and oxygen -> it's impossible get ash with burning water, so impossible to turn water into ash.

It's clearly understandable the he turns organic and non-organic solid elements to ash. Because it's one from possible status of these objects -> but for water it's another case. Water can not be ash in any state. So turn water into ash is absurd.

Are you guys seriously bringing real life Chemistry to Fairy Tail? I don't know whether to laugh or face palm. It's one thing to use Math to try and calculate speed and scale power levels but discussing chemical equations is another.

@Jean Grey MH lost it's humor lol

burning water:
Evaporation of water is studied in both chemistry and physics.

Yes. With high enough temperatures, you can theoretically separate hydrogen from oxygen. But usually what happens when you heat up water is that it just turns into water vapor. You would have to trap the water vapour in a container and keep apply heat to the gas to actually separate to the molecules.

I don't know if you've noticed or not....but you showed me a video of a guy dripping water on a bunsen burner. I'm not sure what you think this proves.

Anyways, Skullion isn't burning water. He's using magic to turn water into ash. Natsu uses magic to create flames. The flames are what generate the heat to burn stuff. I suppose Natsu can also heat up his own body, but that would pale compared to the heat of his flames.

nah, it just measure to caught someone.
We can not skip RL things ofc (like human being normally has 2 hands and 1 head), but if we make some simplification ("it's magic"), we should not do it selectively.

So, Natsu who failed to boil water simply means -> Natsu was supreme nerfed. Because with his magic power in previous arcs such "thing" without nerf is impossible.

Not really, it's a very large body of water and water from the Water Dragon God who from his little time in action, is stronger than anyone else right now. It's not like Gray could freeze it either, Wendy blow it away or Laxus electrocute it

Were you expecting him to boil everything ASAP?
