Why should I calm down? James clearly admits that he isn't giving effort to this game because he finds it boring because of vanilla role. That's disrespectful of others who want to play this seriously. I'm not going to calm down on James. Maybe as a mafia suspect, but not as player in this game. Those excuses are just not good, they are selfish. Most of us are not native english speakers, most of us have vanilla roles, most of us would have other nice games to play, like Horizon 2. He signed up to play and then doesn't because he didn't get a fun role. Bohoo, now let's all calm down and respect each other. Fuck that.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

He seems to be playing now though, so that's good. I think this is the first time I see him actually analysing people instead of whining or discussing mechanics.
I don't wanna re-quote discussions I missed, but this part.. James seriously you heavily dropped in my eyes as a player and I understand Riku's frustration. I never thought you like mafia game only for the roles. Vanilla games are plenty fun too, just may seem more frustrating because we look at even the tiniest action or post and go on that rather than who hinted/which roles make sense, it's very different but the general goal is the same, finding who is dishonest. You not paying much attention to the game, not because you're busy but because you don't like being roleless, is kinda insulting and I thought you're more the hardcore mafia fan and not so basic to be role addicted. This is why we can't have nice things.
True enough. I still not like I'm but on same line with James. James is the one who actively hurts the game just because he didn't get an active role, and my only sin is getting pissed that behaviour.
You two really want to piss me off, do you?
You guys totally ignore the part where I wrote that this game needed an investigative role whenever it was det or spy for town to be a fair game. I had plenty of games where I was "into the game" despite having a passive role or a plain townie role but I could be so because there were hints to go around with, actions to be checked, results to be compared with.
We got nothing like that in this game.
All you guys talk about is "analyzing players" and their post but that is psychological BS, BS as in anyone can interpretate anything they want with those posts. That's how Shad made up everything in his mind, but nobody agreed with him because they "saw things differently" which then caused the whole shitshow which caused a lot of people to vote for Shad because it was convenient to get of toxic players instead of doing something that is more logical. We got no logic in this game, just guts and feelings.

Also you two aren't any better in your behavior than I am!
Nowhere in the rules is it stated that you have to play "seriously" because that word can mean a lot of different things for many people. All it says is that you post three times, vote at least once and not to be a dick to others. And there are a hundred games with dozens of people who posted 3 posts per day, voted once and lived like the late game because nobody cared about them and ripped the "serious" players apart. Are those players also "not serious"?
So why the hell do you two compare your idea of "serious playing" with mine? Why do you belittle me for something I can chose myself? It shouldn't matter to you if I find this game "boring" because I expected a more "epic" game for the 100th game and am disappointed about the size of the player pool and that there are no mechanics except a poll with an app that gives you track of vote changes. I shouldn't have to live up to your own "standards", so leave me out of them and stop insulting me!

Also I understand people have to account for the possibility of me being scum, that I know Im not doesn't change shit about that.
But that also shouldn't stop making people theorize about the connections assuming Im town, which will most probably spring forth after today ends.

Window comment applies here too I guess, but I do know you're able to cut through most things so you can forgive me for having doubts that the mystical reinhardt-simping pigeon could cut through to the truth at the core :catshrug
Considering all the facts, it was very clearly desperation based on a conclusion created out of nothing. He went out of his way to make a program to track vote changes as things progress which in itself seems like something mafia wouldn't waste their time on, at least publicly, if at all. That's the first point to consider. The second point to consider is that as town I tried to keep a clear head through it all and actually consider other options simply than letting my thinking revolve around the issue, so it was easier for me to put it into perspective of being overblown drama and thus more likely than not harmless. Simple deduction, this game has been a wonder for my MG analysis and thought process, I'll teach you my way next duo-game. :lambirb

Between the Shad and Demon voters (7 votes), is where we will find the mafia imo. Erin who I think is scum voted the Hot Potato hoping it stays on a townie and goes with him if Demon gets lynched; the other two scum can be found amongst the Shad voters. Excluding Farf RIP, that's 2 of Tatsu, James, Gry, Lambu and you.
I'd like to give Erin the chance to change her vote. If she doesn't it is definetly fishy she didn't consider the potato situation.

Hmm. Tatsu did defend well and calmly, James I have a personal grudge on trying to ignore, Gry has been helpful mostly. Didn't jump at the chance to lure out pirate even when I gave one, neither did Lambu or you.

Is hard.

Just gonna ignore whiny James completly from now on. That post just proved the point - whining because he doesn't like the setup. All this game is, is trying to analyse player behaviour. Which isn't an exact science. Maybe he should consider not playing mafia? That is my final 2 cents on that regard.

And maybe you should stop trying to turn everyone else into Riku 2.0, Riku 3.0, and so on because that ain't the sense of this game either. My final 2 cents on that regard.

I'm not confident about voting Erin either - it feels to similar to Marms' case.
I don't know about that; across three days she's continued to lay low, provide little to actually help guide discussion along and has very much been a passenger. Her comment today felt deflective, and based on the play and her denial of being able to make good reads from backreading where I've seen otherwise in other games, I don't buy the innocent shtick at this stage. My other concern about her is voting Demon Day 2. Yes, he was suspicious but isn't it a vote wasted that day? Assuming the potato could explode that day was a semi-popular theory that day yet she chose to try and get some traction on seeing it removed from the game entirely with that vote, perhaps out of fear Demon would pass it on. For me there's enough in question there to vote for her. Whether it was dissociating from her mafia teammates who voted Shad, or a genuine attempt to protect their hides by seeing one means of reducing mafia (or town) numbers gone... fair bit to think about either way, but I think today will be critical vote-wise.

You cocky little bastard :lambirb
💪 :lambirb

Don't worry, it's not your fault you couldn't even read your Kouhai from last game. I'll take you under my wing and show you possibilities you never would've been able to reach on your lonesome 😎

Sam is just hilarious in this game :lmao.

I've given this more time than I should've given my early start in the morning, but I think I addressed everything I wanted to address today regarding the game so far and most of my concerns regarding the remaining players. I hope I'll wake up to some good results town 🙏 Good luck and make today count! 😤

I have little experience with the potato, but I thought getting rid of the potate as town isn't a bad plan. Statistically I'm told it usually blows up on town. Demon was sus at that point, so if I hadn't been pissed at Shad I could have gone for it as well.

That said, I don't know who else to vote at the moment either.

So, having fully caught up, here's my 2 cents on all players:
This took much longer to write than I expected wtf.

SirSamuel016 ->
Main things that speak for him: I wish he had this much time to play first 2 days as he did this phase, he has a lot of agreeable posts and stances. I can't quite pinpoint why but his posts just give me the feeling this phase that he's town trying to figure things out. Mafia would be close to winning unless Lambu is mafia, so he'd have little reason to do any more than he did the first 2 phases even with more time on his hands.

Main things that speak against him: the "told you about Shad" stuff is fine, but the amount of posts he repeated that today is too high for my liking. I know Mafia is more likely to scold players on mistakes because they knew all along who is town and not, so it's really easy to "take the highground" morally with lynches. Especially odd because he wasn't as present that phase to begin with.
Second thing against him would be that Tatsu "saved him" D1 if Tatsu is mafia. But that's if we want to give more significance to the D1 Marm lynch.

Riku ->
Main things that speak for him: honestly if he is mafia he is far too good and I need to play more games with him to try and distinguish his actions better, but I just don't see it. I read Sam's concerns, Riku didn't do the strongest votes but don't know who did because we didn't lynch a mafia so far. I'd be more inclined to believe Riku almost lynched mafia with Sam D1 than I would believe Riku is mafia. Just such constant well-thought out posts, I find myself agreeing with him most of the time.

Main things that speak against him: inconsistent voting, if that's even a negative. I remember him going on Demon D1 but then voting Sam, then suspecting James(?) and voting him D2 then switching to Shad. But not like his suspicions were so strong he'd tunnel on his picks anyway, so don't think this is a big negative and more him reconsidering his options which is good.

Demonspeed ->
Main things that speak for him: Lambu exploding as mafia, if it happens. That's kinda it, I personally got no good feelings from any of his posts leading up to now.

Main things that speak against him: D1 and D2 insignificant and uncontributive imo, D3 his whole reasoning for giving Potato to Lambu is just inconsistent to me. He explained it many times yet I still can't see it as a genuine train of thought, kinda like how Cinera was explaining his vote last game and got nobody convinced. Feeling bad for inactives is also not something I'd ever think he said before. Further defending himself by saying he had no help from other players in deciding when he never even asked or talked about his choice all D2. Inconsistenspeed.

James ->
Main things that speak for him: His outburst today looked genuine. I hate to be looking like I'm encouraging bad behavior or bad playing, but as disappointing as it is it does seem like what James could really think. He keeps making role suggestions and made many before, so this game is mostly about roles for him.

Main things that speak against him: D1 and D2 he did absolutely nothing, and the outburst this day does not need to be town indicative. Not sure why or how general sentiment changed in thinking James is town, this could all just be a play to explain his lack of activity and care. He missed out like all of D1 on a game he got the Santa role of all things, and got lynched without defending himself, so imo his activity is not that much alignment or role indicative tho that time he was busy and not just disinterested I guess.

Erinyes ->
Main things that speak for her: I just had the feeling from her interactions with Shad, I forgot if it was D1 or D2, but they made me feel good about Erin, and overall her posts made me think she's sitting on a good non-vanilla role.

Main things that speak against her: Overall low on activity, especially this D3 that is the most crucial. Doc and Prosti are out so my theory she has a role may be wrong and I could've read her wrong because it was just one exchange where she was confident vs Shad but he did BS a lot. Really want her to come here and say more.

DD ->
Main things that speak for him: Doc claim.

Main things that speak against him: Weird that he claimed but that's about it, he should be good.

Lambu ->
Main things that speak for him: Has the Potato so his allegiance may be confirmed soon. Pretty agreeable posts and stances this day(everything regarding Demon and James I share the thoughts), but a bit afraid that both him and Sam "activated" on the same phase so to speak.

Main things that speak against him: Did not do much D1 and D2, and honestly I thought he also has a good active role due to his activity, I thought the Doc and Prosti were among him and Erin but that was wrong too.

Tatsumaki ->
Main things that speak for her: Mainly her latest post with suspects reads quite genuine to me, would be impressed if she can post like that as mafia. Did not play her 1 game as mafia much myself to be able to tell how she plays as mafia and I routinely screw up regarding Tatsu like in Omoneko.

Main things that speak against her: Like she herself said, the only thing I have on her is the way she voted Marm(and the reasoning) in favor of Sam and the lower activity, but otherwise not much slipping up. Wish she had the Potato or that she had it at some point to see who she passes it to.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

So all that in mind:
Not the lynch for today: DD(Doc), Lambu and Demon(Potato relation)
Very unlikely mafia: Riku
Leaning town: Sam
Neutral/needing more info on: Erin, Tatsu, James.

I think the 3 mafia would be either Tatsu+Sam+Demon/Lambu, or if Tatsu and Sam are fine then James, Erin and Demon/Lambu.

I agree Grys analysis so much that I might jump in to a hole in the ice if he turns out to be a mafia.

Same to you, you say what I want to say at pretty much every interaction. Really think it's a shame you stopped playing as often or don't have much time for the occasional game because this is some good stuff.

Now I gotta take care of some things, spent a bit too much time here typing away. I'll be around all til the phase ends and likely won't be able to stop myself from checking the forum every now and then even though that's quite distracting.

Not sure yet whether to go for Erin or James yet, ideally Erin and Tatsu would say more.

@James Rye please tell me your thoughts specifically on Erin, Demon and Lambu. You can disregard the existence of the Potato for the purpose of this question.

@Erinyes please tell me your thoughts specifically on James, Demon and Lambu, likewise disregard Potato like a physics exam.

@Tatsumaki please tell me your thoughts specifically on Sam, Demon and Lambu. Like, delve more into it than you did so far specifically on them.

I still have to catch up but for now
Gry i keep doing it :gwah i did wrote all my thoughts before going to work. But I will catch up asap and check if there are players who give me a different vibe this phase.
Sam, demon, James and tatsu are all my current suspects ( i was leaning yesterday more on demon, he gives me his usual mafia vibes, but I'm not really confident about James and Sam too. regarding Sam it's mostly bc he was saved coincidentally, tatsu bc of her votes. My guess would be that probably all the mafia or most of them if someone is playing subltly, are among them. As for Lambu It's hard to tell I'm honestly neutral about him he could be both townie or Mafia.

As for traitor, I think there is one, if no traitor maybe lovers ? but traitor seems more likely imo.

@James Rye please tell me your thoughts specifically on Erin, Demon and Lambu. You can disregard the existence of the Potato for the purpose of this question.
So now you care about the opinion of a player who "massively lost respect" in your eyes? :hmph

I already said everything about those people, but sure.

Lambu - either we see today which alignment he got or if potato doesn't explode his next choice will tell us whenever we can trust him or not. Until then, he is in the same boat as you and Riku, a potential real danger and risk to town because he could be a pro mafia who guided Shad on to get the votes on him, simply by exchanging posts and letting the spiral of nastiness go out of control.

Demon - his potato choice will show his alignment, either he is town if Lambu is Mafia, and a lucky town on top of that, or he is scum and got rid of a pro townie player. His reasoning for why he chose Lambu is odd, but after Sam's reasoning it's good that he picked one of you three as I firmly believe one of you got to be scum.

Erin - plays really nice this game, as in hasn't written as much as usual, maybe it's because she can't ask people for their hints for her usual role hint list, but still, it's like she is walking on egg shells, avoiding to step on anyone's toes. She only seems to be fixated on Demon and I dunno if that is a townie fixation or just her acting as if it was one, knowing that Demon tends to get picked often as lynch target whenever he is mafia or townie. Because day 1, sure, votes are usually random there anyway, day 2 repeat, okay, would have done the same with Digi if I hadn't forgotten to vote on day 1, but three days in a row starts to feel weird to me. Especially considering that each time she wrote that she puts her vote "on Demon for now, might move it later" yet she doesn't move it. Feels like she would move it under certain circumstances that simply hasn't happened yet. Also it doesn't really feel like she actually wants Demon to be lynched, but I just say that after reading through her past posts and like I said, they were pretty nice, understanding, tame. Nothing felt like a hard "Demon is scum" hitter to me.

I just can't let go of the last time Shad did something like this, when he was mafia in Omoneko and I especially was fooled by it and kept defending him several days because he's clearly just a confused townie. I thought he wouldn't act like this as town due to how he played last game with Lambu teaching him. He was town that game and a lot more collected, and not like lambu could've taught him how to play as mafia. So I saw 0 reason for town Shad to lose it like that, and much more similarities to Omoneko mafia Shad who is scared by pressure and deflects by going extreme. I was wrong on it, but I saw nowhere any indicator he's town due to his history.

Not sure how you can so confidently differentiate him from the Omoneko game. Do you think this town Shad played like last game's town Shad? Would he throw away everything Lambu taught him so quickly?

I was wrong but the game looks a lot more analytical now so it's better than doing round 3 of what happened last 2 days still.
I understand that feeling since I played that game. I'm sorry if it hurt him when I called that moment a "nightmare" but at the time I was really at my desk trying to make sense of what he said and defending his point of view all for him to turn out mafia. I almost swore to myself I would never believe anything he said again. We really argued with him ALL DAY that day. lynching him yesterday might have been a bad move. But at the same time we would still be having the everyone vs Shad conversation and getting us nowhere. I truly saw mafia Shad in his behavior, but I still should have tried to think more about it.

Actually we played together in your first game, the OMO Weekly.
OOOOh now that you mention it yeah ! We were the three dets and then you died mentee. I remember now.

Same, was about to say that I liked Tatsu's overall thoughts, just wish she wrote them more often or without being asked.
I know I should, I'm really trying and will continue to try to improve my analysis and way of posting.

Oh honestly, I didnt consider at all when the potato is going to explode, simply bc we don't know, the only certain thing is the more time is passing the most closer we are to its blowing. I can't tell when that will happen. If lambu survives he has a heavy responsibility upon his shoulder.

This. This thing I bolded.
I almost feel attacked because of how well it sums up my current situation.

Anyway for your question
Sam, I'm not sure what to add. He was quite absent the first two days but was quite active today. However it doesn't feel forced ? It doesn't feel like a forced activity to be there at all costs to avoid suspicions. He's proud about being right about Shad, well he has the right to. I do not feel like he's rubbing it in our face but the "I told you so" isn't necessary since what's done is done. Once again I don't get a mafia read of his current play. Mafia Sam is the one who is more pushy about things and details from my experienced. Trying to take the lead to be seen as the towniest possible. So I wouldn't put him in my current lynch list.

Lambu, It's true that I """"disregarded"""" him to easily to potato situation but there is always the possibility of him surviving long enough to pass the potato. I never put him in my distrust list personally since he seemed consistent, but I'm not sure what he looks like as mafia because he was always townie when I played with him and he doesn't feel different from these times. He's very mad at Demon because of the HP lol, it could both be seen as an angry townie because if he dies it will make town situation even more dire or angry mafia that is scared of being ejected when he was doing so well. I wouldn't say I trust him, just that I have no reason to distrust him right now.

Demon, well...I guess I'm happy he felt bad for me since that's the reason I'm not in Lambu's shoes. It does seem weird to not choose me since I was in most players distrust list while Lambu was quite trusted so that didn't help Demon's case. I should probably be more inquisitive as to why I wasn't chosen but I'm townie so it's not like choosing me would have been better. All in all I was quite unimpressed by Demon's performance this game. I don't remember anything noteworthy from him beside this whole potato ordeal, that's why he was in my distrust list, I think he is usually more inquisitive and making lucid comments. He has a very weird vibe.

If Lambu explodes as mafia that clears Demon (and gives town a brief break), if he doesn't well...

@Lambu if you don't explodes, do you know who you will give the HP to ? (I'm sorry if you already said it and I missed it)

It always takes me so much time to type these posts like damn.
