The Cute Candies
1. Blood Candy - This Candy increases your chance of survival (50%) for tonight but role actions will be stunned the next phase
2. Gummy candy - This candy makes you sick so you cannot vote the next day. Your name will be added to the sticky post as someone who cannot vote.
3. Spicy candy - A permanent secondary role has been added to you - Healthy Townie. You are now immune to candies with illnesses, stuns, and poisons.
——-so would be only Gummy, Blood, and Big Juicy for candy based
4. Peppermint Bark Candy - You now have a temporary special ability to block someone instead of your normal role. You may choose between the two roles but you cannot use both. The block is also First Priority.
5. Bittersweet Candy - For roles with sanity (Detective, Doctor, Apprentice, Spy, etc...) if you eat this candy after Night 3 then you get your sanity confirmed while mafia can become a Substitute and learn a skill from one of their comrades

6. SweetTea Candy - You may target a player, if they use an action there is a 50% chance of redirecting that action to yourself. This redirected action is Second Priority
7. Ghost Candy - If you die during the current phase, your death will be hidden like a janitor kill. (No color codes, real janitor ???)
8. Jolly Rancher Candy - This Candy helps increase priority level by 1 level
9. Roll-up Candy - Protection from Secondary actions but not Tertiary ones
10. Enchantress Candy - This candy is a bland candy cannot be ingested by a poor Halloween spirit like you.
—-Anyone can eat it but the candy is a troll and has no effects.
11. Big Juicy Candy - Players who eat this candy only be able to post 3 times during the day phase. You will be informed of this at the beginning of the Day Phase it takes effect in. The limit is only for that day phase in the normal thread.. You will still be able to use Day Pads. Your lynch post counts as one of the three. You will return to normal the following day. This is considered as a posting stunning action.
12. Birthday Candy - if a kill action is used against you, it will be frozen and dethaw durng the day before killing you the following night (means it will be frozen and act on you the next night)
13. Chocolate Candy - Your role permanently changes to a randomized role according to your alliance. It is randomize from pre-selected lists. (The lists are not shown to player; only hosts know and will reveal at Endgame) o

it was agreed with mentor group that with upgrades, they should be treated like a mafia group with 1 kill per night quota. Also if mentor eats candy then kills mentee since no Recruiter unless Sub teacher takes mentees place; Originally there was no rule for additional recruit due to the nature of the mechanic as the mentor recruiting would eventually change and be phased out due to being replaced with other third party roles, the decision was made however to give the additional recruit on the night of the chocolate being taken by the mentee

Besides the candies that temporarily changed like prostitute and the ones that permanently changed role changed you like chocolate, if you didn’t like your role, you could use the gambling system to get rid of it. Also there would have been a burden in the game had Lich played. o/

Despite saying Mafia was too weak. Town had a Freeman and a naive traitor also their upgrades candy wasn’t as good as what mafia and third party could have gotten. They also never had a prostitute, having to rely on the candies and Farfalla’s BK only for blocking. And they only had a sane Doc + BG for protection, otherwise had to rely on candies in a game filled with killers. Also the Noble + detectives + doctors were all good candidates for mentoring. Mafia doctor and sleeper were things offered as potential upgrade that could help. And DD had an assassin upgrade. Town had a lot of passive roles to weaken them but also could help them try candies. Why people with important roles immediately wanted to try candies is beyond me since there were bad ones mixed in, even if most were good.

If we have a mafia doctor in the team, you guys would have said we gave unfair advantage to the mafia with the assassin upgrade! :sexyarf And any more mafia would have also been dangerous to the third party. Especially adding a mafia detective from the beginning. Van already got me for town being too weak because Mentor is arguably strongest TP role and also that assassin. Then Lambu in here with mafia being too weak. Make up your mind people!

Game Instructions
The MH specific game rules will be explained below. If you would like to play, please announce your participation in the "Mafia Game Discussion" Thread. This thread is strictly for playing the game. Thank you.
Players will be secretly assigned two roles. One group will play the "Mafia" role; the other group will play the "townspeople" role. The townspeople will not know who other townspeople or Mafia members are. However the Mafia members will know who is a Mafia member and who isn't.
During the day phase, all of the players debate the identities of the Mafia members and at the end each person will vote to eliminate a suspect. This is carried out in the "game thread". In the game's "night" phase the Mafia will discuss through PM’s (which will be sent to the host when it’s over) on who they should kill. They will then send the unlucky person’s name onto to the host. Play will then continue until all of the Mafia have been eliminated, or until the Mafia reaches the same number as the townspeople.

A typical game will start with a minimum of 7 players, 5 Townspeople and 2 Mafia members. The members that will be Mafia and Townspeople will be chosen through a random list generator . Whereby the participating player’s names will be put in and after the randomisation the Mafia roles will go to the names at the top of the list. This is to avoid butthurt and favouritism accusations. :'[

Lastly, the numbers of Mafia Members depends on the number of participants! (the numbers are indicative)

7 - 10 = 2 Mafias
11 - 13 = 3 Mafias
14 - 17 = 4 Mafias
18 - 20 = 5 Mafias
21 - 24 = 6 Mafias
etc.

Game Phases
ll take place strictly inside the “game” thread. Any discussions regarding the day phase outside the thread will be dealt with severely.
VOTE KILL [user]
This will be the manner in which you vote. Make sure it is clearly displayed in your post though caps/coloured or bold font.

You will be only allowed 1 vote change per phase. So use your vote wisely. Day phase will last about 24 hours, or until the host gets a majority on votes for one person (majority = half +1)
PHASE 2: NIGHT
The host closes the game thread during the night phases.
There should be no discussion about the game during the night phase, regardless of the player being still in the game or already out.

During the night phase, the mafia members will collaborate and choose who they want to kill. They will not do this in the thread, but via PM's with each other/other alternative communication channels approved by the host, such as piratepad.

At the beginning of the game the Mafia members will be informed of the other members. The Mastermind (Boss) must PM the host telling them their choice for the night's murder and the murderer from his team. They should also pm the PM discussions separately. There can only be one murder in the night phase therefore the mafia members must come to an agreement.

If the Mafia don't send in their night kill before the night phase ends, then their action will not be performed. The Mafia can also send in their night actions during the previous day phase, if they think they will not be online during the coming night.

The time for the Night phases are set by the host.
MH Specific Game Rules
ACTIVITY RULES
Be active in every day phase and post at least three times. It's a Minor Violation if you don't do that and will result in Penalty Vote(s)/Hostkill and ban from future games (Hall of Shame). If you are going to miss out a period of time due to real life events make sure to inform the host, who is going to judge each situation individually and decide whether or not taking the player out of the game is necessary.
Place at least one vote every day phase. It's a Minor Violation if you forget to place a vote and will result in Penalty Vote(s)/Hostkill and ban from future games (Hall of Shame).
Don't post more than 100 times per day phase. This is to reduce spam and the volume of posts per game. Nobody has time to go through hundreds of one liner posts with the same content over and over again (Imperium Copyright Rule). If you hit the volume restriction, it's a Minor Violation you will get a Penality Vote per 10 additional posts you make.
No talking during Night Phases, except for some roles that it is explicitly allowed and encouraged to. The Night phases are only to send in Night Actions. The scale of punishment for players who are caught discussing game content in the night may vary from Minor Violation to instand Hostkill, depending on the seriousness of the comment and/or warnings given before. NEW
Dead people can't talk. So don't post once your character is dead; do not help others once you are dead. You can however, lurk the thread. If you post regardlessly, you will be banned from future games (Hall of Shame).

OUTER THREAD RULES

Absolutely DO NOT discuss the game outside of the game thread (unless you are Mafia members discussing it with other mafia through pms/piratepad). This is so that people do not reveal their roles and ruin the game. Players violating this rule will be instantly hostkilled and banned from future games (Hall of Shame).
Do not directly comment on the current game, once you are dead. This is so you don't influence the players that are still playing. Violator of this rule will be banned from future games (Hall of Shame).

OTHER GAME RULES

You are not allowed to post any screenshots, PMs or anything similar that can reveal your role, or the role of others, neither fake host PMs. If you do, you will be hostkilled and banned from future games (Hall of Shame).
You are not allowed to pretend being a Daytime Vigilant, Cowboy, or other roles, that have Day Commands. It's a Minor Violation if you do that regardlessly.
You are not allowed to ignore directions sent in to you by the host, for example a mandatory vote change by the Politician. It's a Minor Violation if you fail to respond accordingly. NEW
You are not allowed to majorly edit the content of your posts, nor delete any of your own or someone else's post without the Host's approval. If you do, you may get a Minor Violation punishment or hostkilled immediately and banned from future games (Hall of Shame).

RULE BREAKING, PUNISHMENT & HALL OF SHAME

Minor Violations are "small rules violations", which do not result in a hostkill instantly, but are sanctioned with Penalty Votes first. For the first Minor Violation you get 1 Penalty Vote, for the second you get 3 Penalty Votes and the third gets you hostkilled. Three Minor Violation of any kind will lead to a hostkill. NEW
If you disobey the roles above that are resulting with you being host killed and/or banned from future games, you will get registered in the Hall of Shame.
One violation bans you from the upcoming game.
A second violation of the same kind will ban you from the next three game.
A third violation and you are out from all upcoming games.
No amnesty or prescription until further notice.
MH Specific Hosting Regulations
DAY PHASES & VOTINGS
Each active player has to vote during a day phase. Each player has the chance to change his vote once.
A day phase can be ended earlier, if and only if one player has collected more than a half+1 of the second votes ("locked votes") of all players and each player has voted at least once (Absolute Majority Voting).
If by the end of the the regular time of the day phase two or more players have the same amount of votes, the second votes ("locked votes") are decisive. The player with the most locked votes is being lynched.
If one or more players have the same amount of votes and locked votes, each player is getting the possibility to change his vote one more time. The regular day phase is being expanded for the means of further discussions.
If the voting result is the same by the end of the expanded day phase, both players are being lynched.

NIGHT PHASES & ACTIONS

During the night phase each player that has a role with a night action may send it in to the host via PM.
The player may or may not make use of his action. If the player misses the deadline and does not submit his action within the given time, it is seen as not used action. It is possible, however, to submit it before the start of the night, if the player already knows he has no time to do it later.
The night actions are listed in Priority groups. The higher the priority ranking, the more likely it is that the night action is being executed successfully. First actions to be performed are those from P1, then P2 and ending with P3.
If two night action roles from the same priority group target the same player at night a coin flip will decide which night action is executed first.

Story
There are two layers to the world - the one we live in and the Spirit(pad) realm.


Between our layer and the other are an assortment of beings: Monsters, Gods, Ghosts... Their existence hidden from us.

Separated.

Only remembered as fantastic legends that can't possibly be true. Despite humanity leaving tradition behind for a more modern outlook, this has't stopped the creatures from roaming the earth when they are given the chance.

During Samhain the barriers between the worlds lessens and these beings walk among us. Some strive to help humans while others just cause mischief and turmoil. In order to pacify the wayward creatues, priests centuries ago would lead sacrifices for protection. A multiday celebration began after the last Harvest that would forge a truce through the next year.

Today we call this Halloween.

At least, that is what the stories say.

But...
The old customs lost their true meaning.
Washed away in the changing of time.

History forgot that it wasn't a celebration...

It was a battle...

Trick-or-Treat Mechanics
  • Everyone starts the game with various pieces of candy. Some are good, but others are bad.​
  • Currently nobody knows what any of the candies do until they eat them. You have decide: the trick or the treat?​
  • Some have broad based powers while others are specifically designed for certain roles. If you eat a role specific candy, you might not find out what it does unless you have the role it needs to work with.​
  • Nights will be the time players will have the opportunity to eat candies.​
  • Candies can’t be stacked. Only can eat 1 per night phase. Some candies take the place of your role while others can be used in addition to your role. You might even have a role change.
  • Whatever the candy does, will take into effect immediately.​
  • 2 candies are given on the first day but only 1 candy will be given every 2 days after that.​
  • if a player dies, their candies will be randomized among their battle team; if they lack a battle team then the candy will be randomized to player or players​
  • Like any Trick-or-Treat, it is up to you to find out which kind are right for you and which are wrong. You are allowed to reveal what you discover about the candies in the main game thread.​
  • We advise you to work out amongst yourself how to try these​
  • There are 13 candy types for the 13 Days of Halloween​

The Battles
  • All players are given a species and a team. These teams will battle every day phase. At least one battle per team.
  • There are 5 teams based on species from the two series.​
  • Each battle the teams will also bet at least 1 piece of candy; however, the bets can be larger but the challenger and challengee both have to batch the bet amount. They are not required by the host to state which candy/candies they are betting.​
  • Failure to battle another team during the alloquent time will earn the same penalty as a missvote for all players of the team.​
  • The battle wins will be determined by coin flip. The winners will get their candy back + whatever piece the other rival team betted.​
  • The offical way to battle is to for a designated person in the group to Challenge a rival group by title then state their bet amount. They don’t have to tell which candies in thread but can tell the hosts via their group daypad if they choose..​
  • A designated captain should be chosen by the players in the group, to make decisions in case the others aren’t there. This recommended but not required.​
  • Days will last 24 hours.​
  • If a whole team runs out of candy before a Candy Day then they can issue a special challenge by betting one of the player’s roles if they want to continue in the candy fight.​

Daypads - Limited Edition
  • To help the teams in communicating about candies and battles, we have provided day pads. These pads are not to be used to the same degree as a night pad. You are not free to talk about anything.
  • Day pads will open with the beginning of the Day and be locked an hour before DayEnd. Any decidions not decided on during that time will be left to the next day phase. Such as dividing rewards during the free battle cannot be decided up.
  • This is also where you will tag the hosts in whatever candy bet you will make for your battle. Not saying you can’t talk about it in the thread but I’d your team wants to keep it secret.



Special Rules for Day Pads
1. No discussion is allowed about roles, guilt, actions, suspicions
2. Shall only be used to discuss: battle targets, candies, candy types, battle times, future battle plans, bets, rewards...
3. We suggests a team captain be nominted, someone active that can mKe decisions when others aren’t around
4. These rules will be heavily enforced and faillure to abide by them will ensure in getting kicked from the daypad. It is a privalege of this mechanic, not a time to goof off.

One of the Three New Roles are tested

Super Mason (Secondary Role/Townie)

A townie with a role at the start of the game. When he/she got recruited by the Mason Recruiter, he/she will not lose his/her original role. (e.g. Super Mason Doctor, Super Mason Detective)



Substitute Teacher (Townie)

The Substitute Teacher can only win with third party Mentor/Mentee. He has one guess per day to guess who the Mentor is. If he guesses correctly he joins the Mentor/Mentee group. If the Mentor dies at any point after the Substitute Teacher joined his group, the Substitute Teacher changes his role into Mentor. If both Mentor and Mentee die before he joins them he commits suicide the following night.



Mafia Doctor (Mafia)

The Mafia Doctor can protect another Mafia Member per night phase i.e. he will PM the host during the night phase and can request to protect a player. That player then cannot die during the night phase.
