It's not badly used(as in Naive Traitor BG being a bad decision), just disagreed on some of your thoughts like it being good for town before he finds his sanity. Iirc Desin figured out they were naive already within the first day so that even mitigated that.
Well, if you wanna go further... Say the traitor decides to play like a real traitor. It's a small game, he has 4 people he trusts to be mafia to scratch from his "protectable for recruitment attempts" list. He can just protect anyone else he trusts mafia will kill - and still serve the town with that. Not what we took into account, ngl, but still works. And imo that's also a good reasoning for a real BG traitor in game as well.
Why would real BG Traitor be protecting people on his list? That kinda doesn‘t make sense. You‘d want to protect townies to force a recruit when you want to be recruited.
We successfully protected a confirmed townie and, in a game where reveals were hard to come by, I'd say that's a very good thing.
As for why we'd protect people on our list, as a real traitor, we typically wouldn't care about protecting townies, we can use our targeting to serve as a bit of a hint upon revealing, a way to vouch for our trustworthiness should we get investigated, and there's also the fact that any person originally in the mafia will more than likely have a more mafia valuable role and thus worth a protection from a TP.
In the event that we're naive, we'd be more likely to protect a townie than not which ended up being the case N1. By N2, we already knew our role and no damage was done to townies prior.
Welp, for closure I really need to thank @Vandred for joining me in this game. Felt like the old times, when I was still new to everything yet wanted to keep up with the quick-witted boss. Im usually a bit overconfident with hunches and what-not so having a colleague of Van's caliber by one's side, consulting about anything, sharing impressions... it was epic.
Also thanks to @Copy Panda and @Farfalla for the fun game, Im still bummed with the finale but it is what it is. The road was great, wonderful experience. Im sure a lot of people would want a re-edition of this.

Likewise, you asking me to join was the only reason I decided to play. It was definitely fun to have our daypad (even though we probably used it a lot less than most people believe -3- ), but I honestly feel like I was entirely off from start to finish. If we'd gone by your ideas only we'd have probably reached a better outcome.
to add my 2cents. @Farfalla and @Copy Panda where amazing hosts. Due to not be familiar with the game anymore i had dozen of questions over the course of the game and they took time to answer every single one of them. They put more time into this than anyone else, this game generate a lot of negative emotion and i see some of it redirected at them

If you want this or that, ya'll free to host with your own tweaked rules or rolelist. But each game don't have to be an exact copy of the previous game and nobody is forced to play
Ok, had my dulce de leche dinner (yes, you heard me) so it feels like a good moment to write!
First of all, thank you so much @Copy Panda <3 ! This "how we could make a hydra game in MH" was more like a random thought I decided to share with the person I knew that could get enthusiastic about it, but it turns out I was setting sail with such an amazing co-host <3 Imo these games do need some amount of the unexpect, some creativity, 'cause even tho James just left a record of 100+ roles for us to review ç.ç, if we don't reinvent stuff here and there, thru mechanics or fun combos/interactions, things become predictable and uninsteresting. In that sense, Panda is just amazing to host with, always exploring what could else could be done with the game with have, while baring a genuine excitement about creations. Also such a clever and kind person... our debates always felt interesting to me, and you were a gentle presence whenever I was overwhelmed by the game things. This game was overall intended as small celebration for this game community, and I'm happy most things worked out. You worked so hard in all the funny panels, flavor texts and titles, opening and closing rounds, even when you were handling classes and meetings and personal things all at once lmao. Muito obrigada!
Thank you @Purity of Magi for the fun and laughters as well <3 , for being understanding whenever I just wasn't into letting go of my conservative ways, and for the aid while handling the game labor. Shame you couldn't play u.u You actually suck '-'
Thank you @revo as well for the aid! Whenever we were like "uh oh this end phase will be chaotic", you were also on board to share the tasks. I also really appreciate your help with mod stuff regarding the game xD
Thank you @GrySun for kindly helping us out in... crisis moments ç.ç" Your pragmatic PoV and your knowledge was rly needed and appreciated. Shame you, once more, went down so early, you were rly engaged and, as a host, that's great to follow, lol. Ty and @Lady pompom for the PM contents xD I mean... who actually kills Bia... shameful mafia... Só estou escrevendo isso aqui de novo para seu companheiro ficar curioso, rs~
Thank you @Hardy for playing, even though that meant you got dragged by my whism to something you weren't looking forward to, while juggling out baby and ty @Erinyes for being so graceful about your whole situation^^" you were a collateral damage of our mess, lmao. Sorry about that as well ^^"
Thank you guys for playing! @Asako now that the steam is gone, I hope you're feeling better and slept well^^" Shit happens, it's a game, you know the rest. @shinobi hope you're feeling rather well, that it ain't COVID, and that you'll recover smoothly :/ you both were a great company to us in the masons pad <3 @Takuan I'm sorry about your experience in this game as well, felt your frustration with the mistake was rly genuine, hope you find it in you to let go of this... @BlackTiger hope you had fun and also didn't let this affect you so badly.
Thank you @Holt , for me it's always an imense pleasure to watch you play, and you were a true MVP in this game. I'm happy you and @Raven worked out so well (also glad you enjoyed playing with him, Rav). And great to see @scav back xD the "never drop a bone" style didn't die, lmao... and altho I won't forget you for killing my poopie '-' I admire you for how you went down, you committed to play the game in spite of what and kept the good mood. Good to see you brought @riki -chan to this as well *-* Tho I hope she'll play more in the future xD
@Demonspeed and @Evil3ye shame you went down so soon, meh, you were so cutely dressed u.u plus, those were another two people that are fun to have in game... Same about @desin24 and @SonOfDaws , started timidly, but was looking forward for your game inputs as well, and welp... you two also didn't last ç.ç Still think you two were great with the role and time you guys had.
@BD_Beno and @Gajeel (Jesus fuck, just saw a Panda and got a mini brain tumor for a sec), we were also so hyped about you guys as recruiters, lmao. Long SnK chats in the pad ( ) and Gaj is simply a fun player to follow in teams xD Another duo that worked very well was @goodboy_lawlett and @Zasz, that looked trollish in game, but were on point with their actions, rly thought you guys would be a big weight in town's favor. It's funny how even though you guys "should" become Doctors, @MarmaladeSky and @SirSamuel016 sealed you guys fate about that, lmao. Marm and Sam, also loved having you two around, shame Sam got sick ;_; wanted to see more of mr. former Assassin as Santa...
Also thanks @digitaldude and @James Rye + @Lambu and @Vandred for the climax moments of the game! DD's determination and conviction are often his most scary weapon, lmao, and the moment the day ended, we got the "KILL GRUVIIIDOR" PM XD~ Funny "caps" duo '-' And well, alrdy told Van and Lam they almost gave me a heart attack with that lynch, but it was rly cool to watch that execution later on. Plus pidgeon memes @.@b
Fiiinally, gratz, mafos! @Seraph and @Belserion , that was unfortunate, I think you two looked really n'sync, and that Bel would be able to walk her way out of that complicated situation... ç.ç Shoutout to @Juviii and @Gryffindor , they were often so on point about the comp and possibilities while discussing in the pad, great sharp and analytical players, worked hard and well to try to solve the situation the mafia was in... (they also hit me right in my ship obsession, ngl ^.^). Last one: @Brandish μ and @Crescent Jinx , the crazy cookies '_' entertaining to follow to say the least, lmao, and impressive effort you pulled with the SM (my bad about the mistake btw).
tl dr version: GG, lots of shame, lots of "also" and "as well" and Farfalla can't work with paragraphs
Gotta thank the mafia team aka WINNERS for a good time + victory - Looked like we backstabbed HardYes but it was planned by Hardy (to take the NVD, and some heat we would put on them for that, I kinda went further than expected lol), and that help keep us alive, you're a really good player (when he's not over-explaining <_< ). It was nice to be in Erin's team again, thanku. Gruviiidor lmao, it was good playing wichyu. That deadpad was basically a hangout server with you's there and it kept me up past bedtime. Both of them come up with some 358iq advice and plays. Not bad for an orange slicer girl and church boy. Bel is my number one kill target but got put with us, lol. It'd be good to play mafia with you again tho. Seraph, don't know wtf you did on D2 but it made me lol while also taking the heat from Gruviii (maybe they would've been prosecuted), so it wasn't a bad thing if you're feeling down about it. Didn't get to see much from riki, but scav, lol, you gotta play more. Good talking with ya. Cres you were everything I fantasised and more. You know a lot of stuff about this game, your plans with Gryff/Juv gave us good direction (in between the spam).
Idk about this overpowered talk. Both sides had their chances to win in the 4th quarter. And you gotta keep playing until the final whistle bruh. Salt? L-mayo.
I can't believe of all players to win this, it's the fcking Seiko hydra. The one person who kept spamming Seiko pictures in the PM won the game. Is there no justice in this world at all
Thanks hosts. You made a very crazy, multipersonalitied game and it was entertaining asf. You guys didn't get to see all the pads so the level of involvement woulda been crazy overall. Don't sweat the salt, you guys upheld the rules which is the best we can hope for as players. Will play your games again, thx.
Firstly, thank you to @MarmaladeSky for being my better half in the game! I really enjoyed teaming up and we made it pretty far so I'll happily take that result. If there's a next time for a duo-style game then lets team up again and get the W And thank you for putting up with all my medical drama, I know it wasn't the best to deal with a sick teammate but your effort even while busy meant a lot!
Thanks to @Farfalla and @Copy Panda for the really fun game! Was a good distraction from some other things I've got going on, and it was good to get back in the swing of mafia game things
Congrats to @Brandish μ and @Crescent Jinx on the win and to Bran on being an uncle now! Hope you guys enjoyed our present
Neither couple posted three times last phase, so both, for their first infraction, get two penalty votes. The mafia member would cast a third locked vote, thus outnumbering the remaining voters
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh, I knew this would happen when I saw the few posts..... a single mafia winning because town is too lazy to spam. What a befitting ending for a Panda game, lol.
@digitaldude Thanks for being my Hydra Partner, it was fun. Shame we didn't win but we still got all the glory of taking down the Mafia Politician, ain't nobody gonna take that from us.^^
@Copy Panda and @Farfalla Thanks for this double head mafia game. Would have loved to play a large mafia game with 30+ roles but considering the activity of some players that game could have broken the host kill record we have so far. XD
Good game, everyone! Except for town for dropping the ball on the last day, lol. XD XD XD
I don't think the game was unbalanced at all. Town hesitated too much. A Taku lynch because it was "safe", then a DigiRye, again, because it was "safe".
I dunno, Hardspeed. 10:6 isn't a 3:1 ratio, heck, it ain't even a 2:1! Even with all the strong roles town could have lost this easily after BP lynch day 1 and if traitor got recurited night 1, leaving 8 townies vs 5 mafias and a santa who had the power to end our single det with one gift and who would not hand over spy except as last gift obviously. I still think the old Santa version where he had no clue what gifts he were handing out exactly was better because a Santa can plan to keep the best town gift for last whereas with rng he can only he picks it as last gift. Basically if town had a bad day, and there were many games with town just lynching towns over and over the first three days, game would have ended day 3 after a town lynch with 5 towns 5 mafia and a santa, that would have been reaaaally lame and a host should take care that this cannot happen and town has enough chances to get some mafia.
I mean if the 3:1 (or 2.9:1 or 2.8:1 or 2.7:1, you get what I mean, not 1.6:1 for a 16 role game) is not needed why even bother putting it in the rules, you know?
The naive traitor and traitor were a nice idea but then it would have been good to see that the BG died a naive traitor so we could guess the real size of mafia more easily. I couldn't imagine a game with 7 scum aka 4 mafia + 2 traitors + santa, so I always thought we had 3 mafias in the game overall and that is also why I thought dying was fine as long as we take down gruviii because then only ONE mafia scum would remain to be lynched if the 2nd traitor had been recruited and not TWO plus if the 2nd traitor had not been recruited then gruviii would have been the last mafia thus ending the game with town win after killing him with our VT kill action. Which is what I was going for though considering Brand X behaviour I thought town still had to do a lynch next day but that would not have really lessen our glory that much.
And then Scari did not vote and suddenly we had not only Brand X but also Scari as potential scum just after we died.......
If I had known that 3 mafias were still around, gruviii, brand x and scari, due SonofSin dying as naive traitor I would have not wanted to die that day and played differently and maybe digi would have done so too. But so I thought town was on the winner road already vs 1 max 2 mafia scumbags left.
And I agree with @GrySun that the naive traitor BG usually wouldn't really be seen as a "full town" because a BG would be careful about using his protection role in case of a 2nd or even 3rd killing party besides Mafia thus increasing his chances to die to insane doc or serial killer. I think Mafia should have been 3 roles but then with a strong one among them, like exchange pirate for janitor for example, and then the game would have still been very tense with ??? kills and mafia arguing whenever to use janitor to hide town roles or to use robber to gain an extra vote for themselves. Heck, if Mafia Robber had made it to day 3 with a vote then town was already done for! 6 town votes vs 6 mafia votes vs 1 Santa vote! On day 3! That's just too much of an advantage to speedwin as Mafia if everything were to go right.
Thankfully it didn't thus we made it till this dayphase where town lost due inactivity (lolololol) and got robbed (heh) of the awesome 2 vs 1 last day debate battle as we had a doc saving PomSun from being poisoned but if they had gone for scari for whatever reason n1 or n2 and town kept lynching townies then day 3 would have been the final day and even for 16 roles that is a very fastforward end to a game.
I am just glad that didn't happen, lol, town would be so mad losing with 5 townies alive and poor Santa never got to his 4th present because mafia was so good and town so bad. This game was overall fun and the ending was very panda-like almost as if he had planned for town to forget about the 3 post rule/votelock rule, I wouldn't put it past him tbh.
Still means my and @Asako 's game is the sole game townie actually won this year, lol. XD
Ok, had my dulce de leche dinner (yes, you heard me) so it feels like a good moment to write!
