One for sign ups and random related stuff to the game, the other is for the actual game . Think of this one as a discussion thread, for confirming votes see the one in my sig

It is a bit silly, yes.
I think keeping the sign up/prediscussion thread separate from the voting thread makes it a little bit easier on the host and players to see clearly who has voted and what not. It's probably not completely necessary, but I think it's good to keep them separate.
