I really suggest you to read a former season, it really helped me to read the rules and to see how it was for real in the thread. If not, it would have been still confused for me as well.
Here is the last season. Just read a few matches, it'll be enough.
@WithYouInSpirit (and anyone else who is potentially interested) please figure out if you're going to play within the next 24 hours. That's when sign-ups will close and drafting starts.
Like I said the other day, once it's clicked in your head, this whole thing really isn't all that complicated. You'll need some dedication and availability, mostly at the start for character drafting, and then send me a line-up once a week. After everyone has their teams, the vast majority of the work, i.e. everything related to calculations, will be done by me.
So since we'll be 7 players at this rate, something I'm thinking about - and I don't know how you guys feel about it, hence this post - is having a "dummy" player of sorts to fill the 8th slot. That way everyone would get to play at least 7 matches instead of 6 and we wouldn't need someone to sit out every round.
How would that dummy slot work? Basically my idea is that I'd control it, but I'd so by adhering to a set of rules. For instance, during drafting this might be:
1. If an undrafted character has a Lv 3 Support, a Lv S Support with a character already drafted, or if an already drafted character has an ability that requires another currently undrafted character to activate, draft that character.
2. If (1) doesn't apply, draft the undrafted character with the highest base total.
3. If multiple characters are tied for highest priority according to (1) and (2), use an RNG to decide.
Then for matches I'd create a set of strategies, randomly select one of them and apply it to the team. During the round I'm up against the dummy, I'd forfeit control over the team to someone else. Also, the dummy won't be able to advance to the final round (if it comes in 1st - 4th whoever is 5th advances), but if you lose and someone else wins, you still lose points comparatively.
So let me know what you think. I'll add a poll and if not everyone has voted by the time drafting starts, I'll put the dummy in the final drafting slot and then everyone will be able to weigh in during their turn.

You can find these lists in the second post of the thread as well.
Please do not take longer than 24 hours for your pick. If you expect to be unavailable during that time or just want to speed up the process, please send a priority list of your picks either to me or the person who's drafting directly after you.
Finally, you can check this page to see which characters are still available and which ones have already been drafted.
Yeah, there will be two restrictions though:
1. Only 1 for 1 trades.
2. Your character's stat total must be the same as the dummy's character's or higher.
That's my idea at least. You might find this a bit too restrictive, but I don't want to control his trades and I also want to minimize any possible abuse that could come from this.
Not last season. You're right that it used to be that way, but I remember receiving complaints about that format and so I changed it to a simple snake draft last time.
