I mean, fans in this city need a wake-up call. I'd kill for just a glimpse of what the team would be like without Flacco...it'd be hilarious.
The reality is our playcalling is just terrible. How many times are we going to have receivers running 5 yd routes on 3rd and Long? Given how the team looked before the season, I would have called this a rebuilding year. Nice to have them give us false hope, but oh well.

Baltimores offense is usually driven by a run game...mirror image of pittsburgh.
That is absent...so ofc flacco a not so big play qb to look bad.
I dont see that problem with him...
They might not be talking about him as mvp...but hes definitely not in the blake bortles comparisons.

Well that went just about how I thought it was going to.
The Steeler secondary just wasn't up to the task of stopping Brady and when Bell got injured early... The offense actually did better than I thought they would after that point since Roethlisberger played great. But it wasn't enough with Bell hurt and Brown definitely less than 100%. Ended up on the wrong end of some bad calls in the game too. Chung was holding all day long and not getting flagged at all. And the Brady fumble that was recovered by the Steelers yet somehow not our ball was weird too.
That all being said, the Patriots were clearly the better team. And I look forward to watching them lose to the Falcons in the Superbowl.

This is gonna be the most boring, driest super bowl I can ever remember. Nothing moves me about either team. Nobody cares about the falcons outside of Atlanta. Nobody likes the Pats. Man this is gonna be so terrible that I might not even watch. Still hope Falcons dust Brady, I'll kill myself if he wins another ring.

I watched both games today and the Falcons were by far the best team I saw. They look really incredible. If the Steelers had advanced I have no doubt they would have been crushed by them pretty mercilessly. That defense is the real deal and their offense looked good both running and passing the ball.
If this Superbowl is going to be the Falcons blowing out the Pats. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of that!
Such a shame Derek Carr got hurt. The Raiders were such a good team but you can't win with Conner Cook and Matt McGloin under center in the playoffs.

Yeah, sadly injuries made it a 3 team race in the AFC. The Pats, The Chiefs, and The Steelers. And the Chiefs and Steelers both had non-playoff quality defenses.

As a Steelers fan I hate both the Pats and Eagles. But I'm rooting for the Eagles.

So their competition to get in the playoffs is against 3 teams who are cursed when it comes to coach and QB choices (I'm sorry gnut but you know it's true). So all that bragging about the win/loss record is bullshit. You don't see Steelers or Ravens fans bragging about how many times we beat the Browns.
They have been caught cheating twice. God knows how many other ways they've cheated to get where they are.
Tom Brady has consistently been one of the most coddled QB's in the league. And plays in an era where the rules favor the offense and passing game to an insane degree. If you gave Joe Montana or Dan Marino or any of a half dozen other QBs the chance to replay their careers by today's rules they would smash his stats. They played games where you routinely took hits that would break him physically. Greatest athlete of all time my ass. He's a great quarterback for this time and place but if you put him in somebody like Elway's shoes the idea that he would have outplayed Elway is a fantasy.

I sort of find it hard to root for Philadelphia in any sport, but I dislike Boston fans more than even New York sports fans, so I guess I have no real choice. That and the Eagles never winning anything. The problem is that this current Eagles team as the same sort of dynastic smell around it that New England had, so even rooting for them to win one might end being a grave mistake.

Your team saved us all from the another dystopian NFL off season of listening to Pats fans congratulate themselves while the rest of us have no choice but to endure it. Nick Foles came into the playoffs a true underdog but he's leaving a deserving champion and I think pretty much every fan of every single team in the league is grateful to him and the Eagles for it.

I know it's not a true parallel but this Eagles offseason reminds me of the Ravens in 2001 when they decided to let Dilfer go because they signed Elvis Grbac. And what a disaster that ended up being. Would be a pretty hard decision to bench/trade/release Foles after the run he had, I don't care how good Wentz is/was/could be.

I feel like no matter who they go with the Eagle are going to be a force for the next few years.
Personally, I think Wentz or Foles would be a first class starting QB. Wentz probably still has the higher skill ceiling but Foles seems to have that Eli Manning, Joe Flacco postseason ability. When the lights shine the brightest he plays his best football. That's a rare thing. If it were the Steelers I'd probably want them to keep Foles.

Wentz definitely has upside, plus he's 4 years younger than Foles. But I think there's something to be said for Foles being the Eagles' best performing signal caller since McNabb. And granted, it's a much smaller sample size, but there's even an argument to be made that Foles has been more clutch for the Eagles than McNabb or Vick ever was. Playing Wentz when he's ready is still probably the "correct" choice, but god damn...
So I guess the landscape of the AFC North is changing or already has changed. Clutch interception at the end, Browns made it really close. I'm petty, but seeing the Steeler's players reaction to the pick was hilarious.
Not sure about our chances against the Chargers, I'm not expecting them to be shut down in the same way as a couple weeks ago.

I'm salty as hell about this season. So very salty. The thing that kills me about it is that we had 2 games decided by bad officiating. Blown pass interference calls cost us both the Saints and Chargers games. Without either of those we make the playoffs.
Now there is an element of luck in sports, I accept that, and the Steelers were far from perfect (Tomlin's fake field goal.
) and it's partially their fault that it was close enough for those things to decide it but still..
Honestly, in terms of playoff ability I don't think there is much of any difference between the Browns (after they got rid of their terrible coach), Ravens, and the Steelers. I just would have liked to see that decided on the field by the players not off of it by blind refs. And I honestly believe it was this year. Steelers got hosed twice and the Browns got hosed once. The leaves a very salty taste in my mouth.
