Than with Rivers? They'd have more longevity I guess, but it's tough to tell. Detroit is such a vacuum of shit that you can't really know how good a player can be if they have something more stable. I think Rivers is a better player but it's not like either have accomplished anything in the postseason.

The way I look at it is with the stats. Philip Rivers and Stafford have had similar stats despite one being on a great team and one being on the Detroit Lions. Combine Stafford with Hilton, the OL, and Jonathan Taylor and that is one deadly team on offense.
There's no doubt the Chargers have been better in the last 20 years than the Lions, that's not really much of an accomplishment. But I think that usually when the Chargers were great it was because of Rivers, rather than him sort of being a game manager along for the ride. So I can't rest all of his success on his teams being better. Still, there's a chance Stafford hasn't really shown his best yet because of years wasted in Detroit, like I said, it's tough to really break it down. All I know for sure is that his wife is an embarrassing bim that needs her phone taken away lol.
He played more seasons without LT than he did with him though. They were probably more competitive then I guess, but the Chargers weren't too relevant before they drafted Rivers either. I'm not really sure wtf the deal is with that franchise. The move to LA made no fucking sense at all, it seems like LA doesn't even care about them... idk
