It's really weird that a category of Dragon fruits exists for Zoans, but Kaido is a Fish category. I thought there would be more to the fruit, but the chances are looking slim.

I figured that'd be the case for Doffy. I like that he kept it as it makes for good world building. Guess we can basically consider him an unofficial Beast Pirate.

Super surprised at the long hair for Sanji. Curious as to what the dialogue says.

Also, apparently Oda dropped hints for a potential Gear 5...but it could be a joke. He was vague as usual.

Oda answers a question. If Zoro had eaten a Devil Fruit what would it be?

Oda answers that it will be Kaido's fruit, but he also says that it would be better if his swords are the ones that ate the fruit.

And for the other SH:

• Nami = Goro Goro fruit ( Enel's fruit )
• Usopp = Pocket Pocket fruit ( Blamenco's fruit )
• Sanji = Swim Swim fruit ( Senor Pink's fruit )
• Franky = Arms fruit ( Baby 5's fruit )

It's actually rather strange because the chapter that has the revelation isn't even in the volume afaik. Meaning this SBS is a spoiler.

Still, the idea that Big Mom would be giving away anything for free is off. It's both a rare creature and a WMD. What was she thinking?

The actual chapter that presented it had it as a cliffhanger, but now Oda randomly Spoilers it in SBS? There's something fishy here...

I think people just gave the name a far greater significance than it had. The revelation was only that BM gave him the fruit.

You are thinking too much about it.

Oda probably only cares about what has already been revealed in the material he finished, and is not keeping up with different dates of publication.

Seiryu? I suppose that makes sense but... would that imply it's a different model from momonosuke's fruit? Seiryu is azure dragon which very fittingly describes kaido's dragon form... But a pink dragon?

Yeah, people here give things way more significance than Oda ever does, and then it leads to the weird feeling of disappointment they have that Oda didn't "match" whatever it was they hyped up.

I wonder what he means by Joker is from the original plot. Does he mean he intended to do that after the timeskip, but then decided to end Doflamingo's arc in Dressrosa instead? I'm guessing he changed his mind pretty "last second" here, because "Joker" didn't get used until Punk Hazard, so it's not an old nickname for Doflamingo.

Doflamingo was pretty much kaido's subordinate or affiliated crew. He probably envisioned doflamingo as being an actual part of kaido's crew. Doflamingo fits pretty well as another card in kaido's deck at least. As far as the details, it's anyone's guess...

Once "King, Queen, Jack" were introduced, I think everyone realized that part. I'm just saying I wonder when exactly this plan changed, like how old was the plotting. not terribly important, just wondering about his writing process and how far back some of these plot points go.

O: That’s right, the 3 lead performers are obvious, all the Tobi Roppo, Numbers, and headliners, excluding Drake, Apoo, and Hawkins who came from elsewhere, are either named after card games or cards like KQJ and 1-10. If I listed all of them here I’ll be out of space. There are probably plenty of them who you feel like you have never heard of, there’re all kinds of ways to play cards in the world. By the way, in Dressrosa Doflamingo was called “Joker”, that’s leftover of early Doflamingo, who was designed to be fought in Wano as Kaido’s strong ally(強力なカイフウの仲間). It’s great that such a troublesome enemy is already dealt with in Dressrosa!

• Zoro(fish fish fruit mythical type seiryu model): how about the katana becoming a dragon instead of Zoro, I think it’ll be unbelievably cool
• Nami(goro goro fruit): the weather sis, I feel like she’s gonna become the strongest(excluding Luffy)
• Usopp(pocket pocket fruit): the best pocket for Usopp who likes to prepare
• Sanji(sui sui fruit): He can goes through walls and swim in the ground, if Sanji has this ability soemthing bad’s gonna happen

D: Odacchi!! I have a question! In chapter 962 “Daimyo and Vassals”, young Izo had a katana and Kiku had a gun, now it’s the complete opposite! Is there any meanings behind that?

O: Kiku is just holding Izo’s gun. I’m impressed you see all that in such a small panel.

One of such entertaining skills is shooting, Izo is extremely good at it and never misses, but he’s not so confident about katanas. Time went by and on Whitebeard’s ship, when he was shooting for entertainment, he was told “protect with what you’re good at!!” by Vista of the Flower Swords.
Why should a samurai, who’s main objective is to protect their lord, sticks to katanas that they’re bad at? Samurai is the way you lives. Like that, Izo abandon the katana and holds gun in his hands.

I kinda take issue with the helmsman thing. The strawhats needing a helmsman has never in the mangas history been a thing. The strawhats have never struggled over this. And of course, it will probably be relevant in the future but otherwise how little a thing this was before this bothers me. I suppose oda simply forgot to make a plot point out of this because of how little relevance the sunny has to the story in general or he simply took the idea from fans as time went on...

I don't think Luffy has ever said they needed a helmsman, rather just Jinbe and him being a helmsman was just an added bonus that the crew found out about afterwards, when trying to escape a hangry Big Mom iirc.

Punk Hazard's "SAD" is a liquid that mixes the lineage factors of various animals.

It seems that the Lineage Factor is indeed just another term for DNA, and SAD is merely the result of DNA extraction.

According to Shinobu, only 10% of SMILE fruits work because the formula is incomplete. But why does the failed ones make a person smile permanently?

"Dressrosa's "SMILE" factory allows plants to absorb SAD, and grow up with peculiar patterns. One tenth of the fruit imported to Wano Country can give animal abilities. That is to say, it has nothing to do with genuine "devil fruit".

Does this mean that despite the similarity, SMILE nature is completely different from regular Devil Fruits?

If that's the case, then they are essentially fake Devil Fruits.

"and the lineage factor can only be extracted from existing creatures, so any "mythical zoan", "logia" or "paramecia" abilities cannot be produced.

This imply that Mythical Zoans are creatures that don't exist, meaning that something like a phoenix doesn't exist in One Piece world.
