Just that there won't be a week with Shounen Jump - no issue and the one that comes in before or after is simply named Double Issue, even if it's just one weeks content.

Reading it in 3 three days just sadly shows to me, that you did not appreceate the art to the fullest. For me there is a difference between skin-reading through a Manga and actually look at the artwork for some time after reading the lines.

Well, in my opinion, if you have 579 chapters to read you really don't feel like staring at every panel for more than 1 second.
Only the chapters starting from Impel Down have been exciting enough to look for every little detail. Even then, when re-reading, I notice things I didn't see before. Oh, and when you have as epic scenes like Shanks entering the war, you just stare still with your jaw dropped for about 30 seconds...

I'm always re-reading certain chapters or arcs now and again. It helps sometimes because you never know what you might've missed lol. My curosity always grows whenever I re-read an OP chapter/arc. There are so many things that have not been explained yet in OP that sometimes I'm in search for clues to help me try and figure it out for myself. It's hard though. Damn you, Oda.

I read it in less then a week probably like 3 or 4 days. As soon as I finished the Albasta arc though I skipped ahead to read the chapter the manga was up to and it was the one that Luffy appeared at the Marineford war with Crocodile as a crew member, then my reading went so fast because I needed that explained.

I have gone back to reread so many parts multiple times though, whether its every page involving the Will of D, Sanji, Zoros, and Namis arcs are all awesome. As well as the 15 or so chapters towards the end of the Impel Down arc up until they leave for Thriller Bark. The shabondy arc is a favorite of mine also, like when Zoro draws his sword on a Tenryubito just to be pushed away by Jewelery Bonny.

I took two weeks to see the anime and one for the manga. In January. To wait now for another chapter kills me. More because I fear that happens the same that Hunter X Hunter. >_>

I don't know... But the rest didn't really affect me that much. Maybe it's a question of whether you see them in anime first or not. Because before I started reading the whole of One Piece manga, I had seen most of the anime episodes, like around 350 or so. So that could've been the reason why I didn't stall at every panel and enjoy it as much. Sure, Enies Lobby was amazing and so was Shabaody Archipelago, but Amazon Lily, Skypiea, Thriller Bark etc. was meh...

Although now the tables have turned. I love Impel Down / Marineford arc but I am heavily disappointed in the anime reflection of Impel Down. Magellan's poison isn't as cool as I expected, same goes for the Newkama...A lot of other things too.... To be honest, I prefer manga to anime now...

(((WTH? Toei Animation is the biggest studio out of them all and delivers mediocre quality. Right now, the weekly best anime quality goes to FMA:Brotherhood singlehandedly, but AFAIK, that studio is much smaller. Can someone please explain why Toei is so sloppy ? T-T
I'd give anything if they just went back to the style of Water 7)))

The Arlong Park arc was one of my favorite, and really emotional with Luffy putting his hat on Nami's head while she was crying before heading off to fight Arlong.

I thought Choppers arc was boring, while I thought Skypeai was incredibly drawn out. Thriller Bark had alot of cool moments but certainly wasn't anything amazing.

Toei is the typical animation studio that likes to save money. For example, after a series get a considerable audience, they decrease the quality to test if will mantain the audience, and they do so. Etc.

And I agree, Magellan animation is very uninteresting. Also I think that purple is a bad color choice... I would choose green.

Agreed... Arlong Park was awesome.

A lot of people told me they loved the Skypeia arc, but I thought it was horrible. The fights were pretty boring. The only thing that made it bearable was Enel. My favorite Logia of all time !!

My favorite one was Arlong Park and Water 7. Skypea was too long and Thriller Bark was cool but got me nervous all the time. I don't like that xD

If I had to rate them:

• Water 7 / Enies Lobby (took many great ingredients and threw them together without spoiling it. Focus was well spread across all Strawhat's for various reasons. Something no other arc has done)
• Arlong Park (where OP really made it's mark imo. Still the best arc for Nami's character, but if you read it again now a lot of the fights are quite slow)
• Alabasta (Oda's first multi-island arc, and it was a beauty. Introduced tons of new concepts, new Strawhats and had a great war like feel. Only let down was how no-one really died and so all the emotion we felt ended up a bit cheated)
• Thriller Bark (underated by many, but I honestly rate Brooke's flashback as one of the best Oda has ever done. Strawhat united battles were nice and Moria was a good villain when just contained in that arc)
• WB war (From Shabondy to the current chapters. Though I'm highly critical of the current part, Impel Down was undeniably great and Shabondy had a great atmosphere. Kuja Island and Marineford felt too much like overused plot devices and I have not felt much emotion from either)
• Skypeia (stretched itself a bit too thin with Oda trying to make us feel about characters we knew little about. Enel was a great boss, but everything before him felt a bit dull. The Jaya introduction was almost the highlight of this arc)
• Rest of the East Blue (From chapter 1 - Sanji joining. Though "good" at the time, if I read it now it's a bit dull compared to all that happens after it.)
• Foxy Pirates (I actually just remembered this, so I edited it in. If I just remembered it, it obviously means it is bottom of the list. Afro Luffy was great though!)

Just putting it all out there. I do love Arlong Park, but I can't read that and then follow it up with Water 7 / Enies Lobby and still claim it does things better.

Most likely my WB War and TB ratings are what people won't agree on.

I mean I took my time reading OP chapters when I started, there was about 400+ chapters when I decided to read them properly, it took me about a month, but even til now I still go back and carefully read the chapters again and find out things I may not have noticed the first, or second time of reading; and that's the beauty of OP: it never gets boring.

@bittman: that's pretty much how I'd rank it too and Water 7/Enies Lobby would be pretty much everyone's favourite, that was when Oda showed how amazing he really was, the battles, the story, the art, it all just came together effortlessly.
