i think oda is doing a bit of foreshadowing. he has hinted a WB dying in a couple of chapters. jinbei asking ace in the cell, what would happen if WB actually died. WB saying he is only a man a cant be the strongest forever, and he also said if he can give his life to save someone he would.

to me all thats adds up(including my above post) to BB killing WB, or at least having a hand in his end

well imo WB dieing and BB killing WB are diffrent things.
many say WB will die anyway in or after the war and BB wants to shake the world - killing WB wouldn't suffice imo for such an announcement;
killing him, taking over his position and being stuck as yonkou is not the way to go for pk anymore

I can't believe i just saw someone, who apparently reads the manga, say that story line wise Naruto beats One Piece. I damn spilled my drink all over the computer.

I think they are equally good. But One Piece storyline is more on a larger scale while Naruto is more about bond and personal relationship. I didn't think the Strawhat crews are really that good of a friend until Foxy Pirate arc honestly. I just feel like they are more like classmate that got stuck together instead of a clique. While Naruto, even though they are classmates, they really are friends. If the strawhats lose their crewmates right after fighting Eneru, the emotional impact wouldn't be as strong as it was.

Naruto's story is just as strong as One Piece. There are many people who accused Naruto of not thinking beyond 1 or 2 arcs, while One Piece, it is obvious the story was planned several arcs ahead. So yeah many can say One Piece is better. But it can't be denied, the whole Itachi storylines, if we go back to read at the things he said in the beginning, and the flashback prior to the end of Part I, and now that we know the truth (including the secret mission), the whole thing just works.

Anyway I think, as far as the plot is concern, they are both good. Better than Dragonball Z's writings anyway. Which other than the ingenious Cell/cyborg saga, I don't think Toriyama planned too far ahead. Don't even get me started on Bleach. (this comment is regarding plot only)

This might sound rude but, Who cares? IMO One Piece is better than naruto but i like them both a whole lot and read them both on a weekly basis.

I read them a the top three mangas along with some other like reborn, psyren and fairy tail.

well, all I can say is that if you don't read the manga, you don't have the right to comment on it if it is good or not, right?

well if somebody would ask me if they reading one piece is good....

I will tell them, Don't read it, you might get addicted and read 500 awesome chapters in one seating. Bad for your health

Naruto One Piece and Naruto are different, it's like if you compare WhiteBeard with a mere beggar marine
Kishi(Naruto) can't maintain/keep the epicness in barely every chapter...(However I like it ^^)

Bascially, everything in Naruto revolves around one fucking clan. That's what so bad about it. One Piece is much larger, and has so many secrets which are more interesting then "what is that jutsu" or "how Kakashi managed to obtain Mangekyo".

i disagree, repectfully of course. i like both one piece and naruto equally. if im not mistaken the people with the will of d is the uchiha clan of the one piece world. naruto has/had just as many secrets as one piece, but in the past year or two anruto has revealed much of its secrets.

no one can tell me that they new the hit of the uchiha clan came from the top or that madara uchiha was still alive, or that j man trained theleader of akatsuki, just like no one guessed ace was rogers son or garp was luffy's grandfather. on the other hand some things were predictable like the 4th being naruto's father and dragon somehow being involved with luffy.

in both stories we all know the outcome............luffy will be pirate king and naruto will be hokage. the fun is the great ride the authors take us on, while on the journey there.

Ds aren't the Uchiha of One Piece.
For more reasons. I hope I don't need to explain it. For starters, Uchiha are a bunch of EMOs compared to the manliness of each and every D.
We have a founder of the clan who lives in denial and whose goal is to cast a worldwide illusionary version of his image of the perfect world in which nobody, get this, argues . Then there's Itachi who killed his clan to make a point to his brother. Then there's little brother who is doing the opposite of what his brother killed everyone for and is slowly becoming evil, because he's caught in the chain of hatred. His transformation is lamer than Anakin's in Episode 3.

Everything happens on some small continent and the only village that has a variety in ninja jutsus is apparently Konoha.

One Piece world offers more variety of the world and more interesting characters. It manages to be serious while holding on to a cheerful note.
Nobody gets over hyped just to be killed shortly after the start of a first serious battle.

I must be missing the arguement here.

Naruto focuses on Team 7.
One Piece focuses on Strawhats.

There is nothing wrong with the focus of Naruto. It introduces a large world in which the main characters belong to a faction, and thus their friends, rivals and family also belong to the same faction. One Piece is similar if you break it down enough as I did above.

Naruto and One Piece may appear to have different "settings", however they are similar in many respects which is actually why they are successful. I am a major One Piece fan, and I won't say Naruto is even in my personal top 3, but it's easily in my top 10 and still has a very solid storyline.

The difference between Naruto and One Piece is target. One Piece is a manga of varied tones (from very light to midly dark) that mixes in various genres and themes which appeals to all ages. Naruto is a manga of fewer tones (from a ever so slightly light to very dark) which uses less themes and genres and appeals to a more targetted audience (albeit "large" audience).

They are both good, not equally obviously since I'm talking about it here in the One Piece forum. Just don't make me compare things to Bleach which doesn't even rate in my top 20 anymore....I haven't read more than 30 manga series yet either...

Bleach has lost all direction to me, I only look at it because Kubo is a fantastic mangaka and that's it. Though One Piece is by an incredibly large margin my favourite manga, I don't think it should be compared to Naruto in this thread cos I don't want it to turn into some weird argument. We focus on OP.

If someone want to see the main character as the Almighty, then he should go to read Bleach, because the main character is the strongest.
In Naruto we almost know the ability of the villain and all what he can do.
Nevertheless, in One Piece there are Admirals, Yonkous, the elite of Shichibukais, Revolutionary ...

I've been thinking this over lately about OP. If BB was in the situation Luffy was in when Robin was taken away to Enies Lobby, would he do the same thing? I get the feeling BB is one of those pirates who won't just press on forward with his own goals! He wouldn't go through all that effort for one member of his crew. Well, thats how I see it atm.

Nope i don't think he will go that far for his "nakama"...he just believe that "fate" will someday will bring him to become the "ruler" of OP world...at most he just have "faith' with his new found crewmates..to go where where "fate" will bring them.BB trusting them? impossible..Ok faith is not a good word, it's ""use"

That is actually a really good question! If we go by his history, he is a nakama-killer, so that is a strike against him. I suppose in certain situations he would save his nakama... if only because he still needs them. If the situation was too difficult or if the nakama annoyed him too much, he'd probably say, 'tough luck'.
