I would think that you were right if it weren't for the fact that we haven't seen any fishmen in Impel Down, aside from Jinbei. What, all of the other fishmen pirates aren't even strong enough to be imprisoned on level 1?

I'd almost bet that fishmen either slave out in Mariejoia or work on projects like that bridge. They are 10 times stronger than a normal human, they can breathe under water and they are despised by WG, or at least by Tenryuubito.

Also, last time we saw Kuro, he was free. He was sitting on his bed depressed and Luffy's Wanted poster was on the table next to him. He could still be free unless I missed it somehow.

The rank of the officers in question has not been detailed, unless I missed a reveal. As far as I was aware, the marines Doflamingo toyed with have been seen in the background here and there, but nowhere have they been linked to the vice admiral position.

Let's see: Luffy has probably used a line similar to that somewhere, or I could imagine a line like that. Something like:
"Shouldn't we back Zoro up?"
"No way, Zoro's strong. I believe he will win."
Don't know if Luffy's ever said something along those lines, but it would fit.

I doubt I'd be annoyed if Akainu said it, because if Akainu said it the only possible interpretation would be that "That peon isn't worth my time" since there's not much in this world he probably thinks highly of.

But yeah, point is that Doberman probably underestimated Luffy moreso than estimating Lucchi to be above him. That's how I'm interpreting it. You don't always need to send out Mewtwo to beat a Hitmonchan.

Well, the problem is exactly there. Doberman not say "he surely will win", he says "there's nothing for us to do". It's still a strange line to refer at someone that isn't stronger than yourself.

Luffy defeated a member of the giant squad. Though approximately two of the giants in the squad were called as vice admirals (both of which were defeated by Whitebeard personally) you may have confused giant squad to be all vice admirals. Again, perhaps I missed a call somewhere I'm not aware of. Correct me if I'm wrong with this one.

Well it's fairly impossible to judge, but Atmos was thrown up against a beast like Doflamingo who also made Jozu his bitch and Luffy would doubtfully be any more effective against him. Overall, hard to say. There is a "level" the Whitebeard commanders are at, but I might even agree with you in believing that Luffy may at least be on par with the weaker of the Division Commanders.

Since only Marco, Jozu and Vista really had part in the manga, I would say all others commanders are below Luffy.

One interesting note, Moria said to Curiel that he would let him pass, otherwise would crush him.

What means for a Fishman Calm Belt anyway? Big creatures that they can easily avoid.

I say that there is an "air" prison or something on land. And they put Jimbei on ID to not show him what their comrades were suffering. More if it's only a way to "cool" him down.

And yeah, you might say that Ivankov broke through the wall, but that was the surface wall. The walls under the water should be a lot lot thicker, in order to hold out against sea kings and pressure.
Also, if you can destroy the wall and swim, what's stopping you to destroy the wall and run?

I'm just saying that it was strongly hinted that fishmen are valuable slaves, and since there were none in Impel Down, I can only think of one thing. There really is no reason for having a separate prison for fishmen. And I'd imagine that not a lot of them get caught in the first place, so it isn't a stretch that all of them end up at a slave trade or directly in Mariejoia.

Back at the beggining of Shabondy Achipelago arc (Duval part) Hachi said that Arlong was still in the transporter ship or something like that, I am sure it was not Impel Down.

I don't think Arlong needs to be in ID, after all Luffy defeat him in East blue. He might still prisoned there. The only reason buggy is in ID is explained in SBS forum in One Piece volume ?? (sorry forgot). Oda explained that he was captured when lurking for Captain John's treasure, but he didn't realize that the cave was belong to Impel Down area. One reader spotted his picture is in Newspaper that elder nyon read. And ask Oda about it.

Except getting longer in cases of Robin and Nami, the Strawhat's have gone a good 500 chapters without changing their hairstyle.

...wait, I think that's a Shonen thing. Hairstyle changes are ridiculously rare for manga characters unless it has some sort of consequence (Miu in HSDK for example, or that little blondie in Ane Doki).

Hair and outfit are usually the two most unique things about most characters, and Oda has been changing up outfits a bit more recently (when's the last time we saw the red/blue Luffy?), though he's always done it for his female characters (which we don't complain about). But the hair is still pretty constant...

I like Luffy in that red-black combination. Don't know what was wrong with those black pants, I thought they were gonna stay.

I wouldn't have a problem with Luffy having a slightly longer hair. Zoro no, Sanji no. Franky no. Usopp, sure why not. As long as it's not shorter. Robin would look good with longer hair, but it wouldn't really change much. Nami would look like Orihime, so please no. I like her better this way.

Brook can't change his hair and Chopper doesn't compute.

Hah, Luffy with longer hair would be lame. He looks perfect the way he is now. If Oda decides to make him look older he will add some more definite lines to his face and make his body a bit "bigger" but that's about it.

I honestly don't want any of the SH to change THAT much except Nami (who I think will look awesome as a grown up woman, like Robin) and Usopp who needs a small but significant change.
I mean, take a look at how much Yasopp changed !

I can see that. I wouldn't mind seeing Usopp with longer hair haha with some shades on. That would be awesome. I can't imagine Zoro or Franky with longer hair though. It would be sweet if we get to see Afro Luffy again one of these days.

Frankly, I can imagine Zoro with Ryuuma's hairstyle, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't suck. He'd look like a dork. Just try to imagine it. It's the color. You just can't do much with that color of the hair.

And yeah, when I said Luffy could have longer hair I meant Roger length.
