And yeah, you might say that Ivankov broke through the wall, but that was the surface wall. The walls under the water should be a lot lot thicker, in order to hold out against sea kings and pressure.
Also, if you can destroy the wall and swim, what's stopping you to destroy the wall and run?

So, you're saying that there's a greater chance that they are in some air prison then that they are being used as slave labor?

I'm just saying that it was strongly hinted that fishmen are valuable slaves, and since there were none in Impel Down, I can only think of one thing. There really is no reason for having a separate prison for fishmen. And I'd imagine that not a lot of them get caught in the first place, so it isn't a stretch that all of them end up at a slave trade or directly in Mariejoia.

I am saying that there is plenty of people free out there and making a hole is not that hard as you think. Trick walls are sure there, but I'm not saying that they just use one hand and everything is good. They have abilities, they have plenty of criminals with enough destructive power and ingenious minds.
It's a possibility, I don't know. I just said that to reinforce the idea of having a separate prison.

I've been looking through his fights and i didn't find even one fight where he had that sort of handicap... I wonder how much weaker he'd get in that situation.

he fought Don Krieg in the ocean on top of chunks of destroyed ship, he said he didn't have much space, and he could fall in the ocean really easily.

And it's not like his normal punches aren't hard enough, he didn't even move from his spot or stretch when he beat Binami

The open sea means a LOT of space[he meant a confined place like a steel enhanced room] and the wrecks may have been shaky, but there were big parts too, so the only porblem was to get a good foothold. I think you mean Bellamy on the pirate isle[can't remember the name], he was one weak pirate compared to Luffy and his past encounters. If Luffy speeds up his attacks, he doesn't have to stretch as much as before to do the same attack.

yeah, you're right I don't think that's ever happened. But I don't know if it'd be that bad. Besides stretchy Luffy's also a little bouncy, remember when he fought Enel and he used gatling on the wall so his punches would bounce off? so if he was in a confined space maybe he could use gatling on a wall an his punches would go in all directions inside that confined space.

The closest to an enclosed space fight Luffy would have had would either be:
A) Nami's navigation room in Arlong Park
B) Inside Foxy's Ship

He seemed to do fine in both areas, though he did create his own space some of the time by breaking down those walls.

Well, a skinny person will always have some sort of muscular definition. He's just a skinny guy with little body fat. And yes he was a carpenter, but spent most of his time with that sickly girl or with those kids or running around town and lying his butt off

It's not really fair to compare Usopp to Franky. Franky is a master carpenter, Usopp is a liar; although the mastery of their respective fields is undeniable


@ Current convo : OP is set up in such a way that it's hard to find any fights in Really Tight quarters. Even the fights that were indoors had adequate space to move around and even break out. But luffy can kick a$$ indoors. He can just go Gear2nd and Jet Pistol the guy to death, or Gear3rd and just squish him

it would be great for sanji to have the mera mera fruit , about luffy i think we might find that out pretty soon since he is in the land of haki experts .

I can't wait for the haki training! I'm sure Jinbei and maybe even Law & co will take part in it? You know to help Luffy. I wonder whether Elder Nyon will teach Luffy more than Boa? I can't picture Boa as the teacher here lol.

haha i guess you really cant, with her being distracted all the time with luffy. Im not sure if Law knows how to use haki but you never know.. Cant wait to see Luffy in action after his power ups.

I don't think Luffy's the 'training' type.. he learns from experience, any time you ever see anyone trying to teach him something he enters retard-mode.

Plus being trained by someone else always looks like a cop-out, this is a series where people get ideas from stuff they've seen, but come up with new moves on their own (even Zoro when he was a little kid), and all the people who know about haki have made a point of not mentioning it to Luffy, so it's gotta be something you work out for yourself.
The biggest example of this is Hancock, being stuck in a cabin with Luffy for several days with nothing to do, on the way to a ridiculously dangerous prison-break attempt, knowing he had huge haki potential, if it would've helped you'd think she would mention it..
