I have a question concerning Ace & Blackbeard

So..I've been thinking and I am confused. Blackbeard killed Thatch and Whitebeard said it wasn't worth it. But he went off anyway, now..was Ace looking for blackbeard because he killed Thatch? or was it because he knew blackbeard was after luffy? or was it both?

Ace was looking for Blackbeard because he killed Thatch. It wasn't until Ace caught up to Blackbeard in Banaro that he heard of Blackbeard's plan to kill Luffy, which cemented Ace's resolve to take Blackbeard down then and there.

Rereading that Ace vs. Blackbeard place -
Ace's Hiken damage looked very similar to Sengoku's shockwave, maybe the Fleet Admiral could have used a stronger attack (if he even has one).

The guy with the physique and tongue out, in that context, resembles Basco Shot. However, you can also make out what looks like animal ears. Could he maybe have some sort of dog zoan fruit?

That's actually the abbreviation for Ace, Sabo, Luffy, isn't it?

But probably, Ace wanted to use that abbreviation as well as tattoo but then decided to have "Ace" instead when the tattooer already had AS.

Oh, BTW: In one of Vol. 58 SBS, Oda confirmed Haoushoku to be that Haki that knocks out others... Plus: He/The editors added the image where Shanks borders the Moby Dick.

It's on the same page where Oda talks about how he created Iva-san. ^_^

I don't know if I would say it's confirmed from that.

O: Oh, is that so. That's amazing. If you happen to have the Haoushoku Haki, if you don't learn how to control it, it's going to be annoying for your friends. Another possibility is that you may stink so bad, your friends are passing out due to your stench.
In that case, please take a bath.

To me, if the translation is correct (which I'm assuming it is), he's just confirming that Haki will knock people out. Then he says to be careful if you happen to have the Haoushoku Haki. So to me, the "if you happen to have" part doesn't mean that you necessarily have to have the Haoushoku Haki to knock people out.

Just my take on it.

Well, basically Oda says: If you use haki and your friends collapse, you either succeed in using haki thus having Haoushoku - or you stink and need to have a bath.

Seriously, why would he use "Haoushoku" in his answer to a question about haki if that wasn't connected to knocking out people as sole haki "flavor"?! There's no other option any more.
