Well, obviously, the people on this site pick and choose what they accept as theories.

That's no way to run a site for discussion.

What in the heck is this? It's hilarious and strangely has good effects. Is this some show or just a one off gimmick?
Had to google:
To sum it up this was done for the 25th anniversary of a semi annually TV drama.
More info below:
It was announced by FUJI TV that its semi annual omnibus drama Yo nimo Kimyo na Monogatari (Tales of the Unusual) will feature a collaboration with a popular anime for the 25th anniversary of the program, which first aired on April 19, 1990.The April 11 crossover episode stars Abe Hiroshiand the character Luffy from the One Piecemanga and anime.

The special is tentatively titled Yo nimo Kimyo na Monogatari 25-Shunen Special Haru ~Ninki Manga-ka Kyoen-hen (Tales of the Unusual 25th Anniversary Special: Popular Manga Creator Competition), and Luffy will appear in a segment titled “The Gum-Gum Man” in the special. Luffy will appear in CG alongside Abe , who first appeared on the show in 1991

Thanks for digging that up!

That art looks great. Reminds me of how the animation in the current arc has been done.

More official art:

When the chapters dropped I thought the Ju Peter as the worm looked silly but after today's new episode honestly think he is the creepiest. The way his mouth opens in layers was eerie. Seems they agreed on the colors before animating since these match what was shown.

So, Oda has more reason to bring Moria back, due to being Momo's relative, but I have to wonder what he'll do for Fujitora. He's prob one of the most prominent characters we haven't got a proper update on. I can only imagine what he's thinking right now, how he reacted to Vegapunk's broadcast, and if he has a bounty on him right now.

Random question... So we know dragon at some pointed handed luffy to garp. Luffy was then raised as foosha village where garp presumably visited him. Later on he was passed on to dadan who had been raising ace since he was a baby. But what triggered Garp to hand over luffy to Dadan? Luffy was seemingly fine at the village before.

What I was thinking here was that perhaps Garp already had enough problems with raising luffy, son of dragon, while a high ranking marine officer. And then luffy not only befriends shanks but also eats the gomu fruit. Which at the wano arc we learned was stolen by shanks from a WG ship. So... was luffy eating the fruit what triggered garp to hand over luffy to dadan? Garp could have put two and two together and guessed that the fruit luffy ate was the one shanks stole. And he would have known people quite high up the pecking order could be after it.

I notice than in larger arcs, Oda tends to put the big/most crucial flashback in the middle of them:

Fish-Man Island Arc: Chapters 603–653

Jinbe Flashback: Chapters 621–626

---

Dressrosa Arc: Chapters 700–801

Law Flashback: Chapters 761–766

---

Whole Cake Island Arc: Chapters 825–902

Big Mom flashback: Chapters 864–867

---

Wano Country Arc: Chapters 909–1057

Oden Flashback: Chapters 957–976

---

Egghead Arc: Chapters 1058–1125

Kuma Flashback: Chapters 1095–1104

---

Elbaf Arc: Chapter 1126-1161 and beyond

Harald Flashback: Chapters 1152-1161 and beyond

So it seems that after the flashback is over, Oda tends to go like 30-80 chapters after it. If we could assume the Elbaf flashback ends in Chapter 1170, it could mean the arc could end by Chapter 1200. Of course, if he's doing something more akin to Wano's length, then he could end up having it end by Chapter 1250, which would make the Elbaf arc about 125 chapters.

Wano's length was inflated by having Luffy knocked out multiple times though, so unless Oda is wanting to repeat that, then maybe it could end up being shorter than Wano after all, and this more likely ending around the 1200 mark. But what do you all think?

Isn't this just because the flashbacks make the arc longer? It's not correlation, it's causation

We already knew Shamrock was important, but didn't think he'd be THAT important.

What the hell... that's quite the revelation. Might shine a new light on Shanks' refusal to go to Laugh Tale, even if just coincidental.
Probably not

Shamrock first appeared in chapter 907, this is also the chapter which introduces the Empty Throne, which is what probably ties it to the One Piece

Also the Rocks are mentioned for the first time in that chapter, but I think the Empty Throne is also more important

While this sounds good in theory, this means the series will take even longer to finish than now. Though I guess maybe they will finally adapt more than half a chapter/one chapter an episode again. Though they still might run out of material . Also, i wonder how many of the main voice actors will make it to the end of the series or will step down eventually if the series goes on even longer. Thn there is the remake, though we don't know if it will go past East Blue.

Hmmm, if during the reverie the one we saw was shamrock and not shanks then considering the current chapter I would think the most likely scenario is that shamrock wanted to discuss teach, the son of xebec.

Wait, wtf? Is that a prank? If true it's kinda awesome but also a bit of a letdown that franky didn't have much involvement with him.
