It sounds like the protagonist's combat is the only thing that prolongs One Piece. Would you please link us to the statement made by Oda-sensei?
Sure thing I can

"When creating a protagonist, it is important not to make him too strong.
For example, if Akainu becomes the protagonist, he is so strong that he can put an end to ONE PIECE within a year." Sound Recording (2012)

I must say you sound a bit unhappy/something like that - I only posted short sentence that is not to your liking.
Of course I know that combat isnt only thing prolonging One Piece - its just one line in context of not making main character of series too strong.

And here you can see all of interviews from Oda in one place thanks to Sandman AP.

Akainus power is very dangerous. Beside fact that he was capable of this
But Akainu didn't fought against everyone there. He took down Curiel, then Coby stepped in front of him, and was saved by Shanks.

Does it change anything?

What I wanted to show is that Akainu can fight whole crowd of New World Yonko crew fighters and they are not capable of stopping him at all.

Yea, what will the world say if they see Akainu butchering a marine for telling them to stop fighting? Or having a duel with a yonkou just to show how unsatisfied he is?

Is it that obvious? I guess I need to work on my poker face :p
Just kidding ;)
No, I wasn't unhappy; I was skeptical to be honest. I thought that it was a rumour or a hoax from somewhere.

Thank you very much for linking us to the interview ^^

For the argument to be sound, the premise or premises (reasons in support for the conclusion) have to be true but since WB's pirates weren't all defeated by Akainu and since Oda-sensei has used such a hyperbole to depict Akainu as a paragon of strength, the conclusion that he can defeat a yonko's crew members altogether remains, at best, probable.
Saying that he can defeat a yonko's crew members just because he defeated a few of one yonko's crew members, you would be committing the hasty generalization fallacy. Even if he were to defeat one yonko's crew members, asserting that he can defeat all the 4 emperors' crew members would also be the commitment of the hasty generalization fallacy.
It could turn out that one of the 4 emperors' right-hand man is on par with Akainu in strength, and this would make it practically impossible for him to take down the entire crew if he were to be Akainu's first obstruction in his attempt to decimate the entire crew. Even if Akainu were to manage to defeat him, his damage during that battle would make him very vulnerable to a defeat at the hands of the rest of the crew members.

Oh I didnt seen that Odas New Year wishes were posted.. Should I delete picture from chapter thread?

Also nobody pointed out that Luffy wears Kimono and that means we will see at least start of Wano arc in 2015

Why would Oda make Luffy wear Kimono if that would not be hint toward crew going to Wano?

Having 2 samurais in arc that is ongoing right now and most likely son of shogun of Wano most likely will be waiting at Zou, after Luffy said he wants to go there. Its no brainer to see it as a hint or do you have any argument at all that shows that its not logical to think its a hint from Oda?

Because it's what people traditionally wear in Japan for New Year's Eve. Nothing more than that.

Don't mean to rain on your parade Vagabond, but it could be that Oda just decided to draw Luffy in a Kimono. I mean, the Going Merry is the drawing as well, but I doubt that means she's going to come back this year. That's not to say that the Wano arc isn't going to begin this year though, I'd say that's a given.

Yes it's common tradition in Japan to wear Kimono last year, I don't even recall what last year's OP message was to be honest, but regardless of these two things Oda is known for foreshadowing events and leaving easter eggs and so I wouldn't put this past him.
That said, it's even a pretty logical guess to take in saying that we could see the beginning of the Wano arc in 2015; I don't think we have that long left of Dressrosa to be honest; half a year max imo. After which the story will gradually get us to Zou at the very least for the end of 2015.

I would say we are few(1-3?) chapters from end of volume 77 and then volume 78 starts where all of fights should conclude(there is only Pica, Diamante, Mingo, Trebol, Gladius and Senor Pink left.
Lately we gotten Machvise, Dellinger and Lao G fall + Baby 5 fall in love. Next should be Gladius being left to fight against Bartolomeo and Trebol will be probably called by Gladius to come and help them as almost all Officers are down and they cant handle Hakuba themselves. Trebol seems like not doing anything and Doflamingo might let Trebol go down to Hakuba being sure he himself can kill both Law and then Luffy.

This way we should have volume full of awesome fights and ending of Dressrosa by volume 79 and then volume with conclusion to Sanji vs Big Mom crewmates and most likely Kidd alliance making move on Big Mom. Zou could be around volume 80 + intro to Wano I guess so still 2015.

Or it could be hint that we will see Wano given how much Oda loves to put some ester eggs here and there whenever he can.
