The last Shichibukai is apparently the pirate who took Zephyr's arm.

Yeah. It would actually be really cool if it's Shiki. I've had that theory for quite some time.

Well what I got from the time they talked about the Shichubukai was that the last person was pretty strong.

It was explained in One Piece Z the movie. The pirate who severed Zephyr's arm was promoted to Shichibukai, Zephyr didn't agree with that decision so he left the Marines. As far as I know the movie is cannon. Oda did an illustration with all the Marines for that movie.
Also in the manga Sakazuki(Akainu) was seen talking about him, although we didn't get all the conversation it was as if he was explaining that decision. Most of the Marines trained under Zephyr so promoting him to Shichibukai was controversial.
@TheLuffysmile I don't think it's Shiki, but it's possible it's one of the level 6 prisoners.

I suggest watching Strong World and One Piece Z, because both movies are developped by Oda. They have some pretty interesting info about the old generation(Strong World), as well as what happened to Kuzan after his fight with Sakazuki(OP Z)
Out of the two I like Strong World more, Shiki is a good antagonist.

Oh so that unknown person is still unannounced yet. I also thought that the movies were not canon, but i've watch the Strong World since it looks like Oda is also the one who made it. If its true that the shichibukai is someone from the movies, i hope Oda would elaborate him more in the manga.

And to be truth, i'll be a bit disappointed because i hope that the last shichibukai will come from the manga world (since the movies only aired in Japan.

I kinda wish it was someone surprising like captain of Fox pirate or such...

The Shichibukai wasn't shown in the movie, only mentioned and we don't even know his name. We just know he's the one who cut Zephyr's arm that's all.Oh and he's a DF user. So Oda is technically free to do whatever he wants with him. Also One Piece Z's story was written by Oda, so I guess that makes it canon.

I guess since Oda didn't give an interview or something saying that the story was 100% written by him, but for now I'm willing to believe that is it part of the canon.

The overall movie is not canon, though the volume that was released and given to people attending the premiere is. As far as I know anyway.

I doubt I'll be able to find the interview. I wonder what those movies are for if they're not canon.

The Wikia doesn't provide a source for the claim of what Oda said in the interview about the movie canonicity. Frankly I don't remember Oda ever using the word "canon", and that's something which fans give more importance than he probably does.

Yeah I find the lack of link to the interview rather suspicious. But It's not such a big deal anyway since we didn't know much about the last Shichibukai to begin with. As I said before Oda is free to do whatever he likes with that character, at least as far I'm concerned. Dunno how others feel about that.
There's a lot of theories going on about his identity, one of the most popular is Enel, and I even saw one with Rayleigh lol.

Despite the canonicality of those movies,
It is TRUE that Oda often mentions them in the SBS when the fans ask, he includes some characters in the databook and even makes color spread chapter covers from the movies such as Strong World and One Piece Z.

But whats the point of covering the identity of the last shichibukai?
If he wants to re-introduce a character from the movie, it would be better if he declare it once and for all as a teaser and publicity.

The surprise would be a failure as the ones who understand it only *probably* half of his fans. Because the other half only read the manga and does not have access to the movies.

So i still hope it is someone we know from the manga. Maybe Gin after eating a df??? Or captain morgan?? Who knows??

Depends on what you call "officially". Luffy did ask him to join, but Jinbei said he had other things to do before that (most likely that has to do with BM). So If he ever joins it will be after Luffy or Kid's alliance take down Big Mom.
Until then we can only speculate whether he will be a nakama, or a member of the SH alliance. It would be nice if it was the former, it's about time the SHs had a fishman in their crew, and Jinbei is pretty strong.

The thing we have to consider with the 7th Shichibukai is that he cut off Zephyr's arm, that was around 20 years ago. So, We can conclude that the pirate is a veteran, probably a lvl 6 escapeé, or Shiki. Those are my guesses. Here's why:

• Shiki's weapon of choice is dual wielding swords => Zephyr's arm got cut off.
• Zephyr became an Admiral without a df, just pure strength and Haki like Garp. It would take a damn monster opponent to cut of his arm (Shiki.)
• Shiki's up there with the likes of Sengoku, Garp, Roger, Whitebeard, he could've taken Zephyr's arm off.
• Shiki's a veteran who's been around for a long time. He was at his peak 20 years ago and that makes him a very relevant suspect.
• The person who cut off Zephyr's arm had a DF power => Shiki's ability is the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi.

Doesn't volume 1000 state that Zephyr was 65 years old when his arm was cut off and his entire division save for Ain and Binz were killed? Which would mean that Zephyr's arm was cut off 9 years ago from the current time in the story as he was defeated/killed when he was 74.
