Doesn't volume 1000 state that Zephyr was 65 years old when his arm was cut off and his entire division save for Ain and Binz were killed? Which would mean that Zephyr's arm was cut off 9 years ago from the current time in the story as he was defeated/killed when he was 74.

Oh yeah that's right! Thank you very much for correcting me sir/ma'm. I'm still going with Shiki though ^^ So what's your take on this? I still feel a bit conflicted. I thought that the cutting off arm thing and the 7th Shichibukai stuff was canon, but not Luffy defeating him, right? So Zephyr should still be out there in the OP world no? And as far as I know Ain and Binz aren't canon characters? AGH this is so confusing ... ._ .

Oda also designed villains for other movie. Maybe you shouldn't take what is canon or not so serious? Perhaps you could take Strong World as being "part of the manga story" because Shiki appeared in chapter zero.

I don't know why but I think it's Gin ! If it's him then wow..

I have a question. Has Oda confirmed the fact that Jinbei is officially a crew member. Cause I don't see any concrete fact !
I know right? I really want to know what happen with Gin after he said "i'll go back to the grand line" back then.

The way oda usually officialy call someone a nakama is by using it as the chapter name. We've had 2nd until 8th. Until then, Jinbei is still on his mission withdrawing himself from Big Mom i guess.

Nah. It's important. And I'd say that Shiki's canon, the movie isn't.

If it's Gin then it's gonna be epic af. The dude is a great character. When I first started reading One Piece he seemed better than Don Krieg (bad ass I mean). And that will also definitely prove that Oda never forgets past characters !

Thanks to both seimei and ladylola for answering the question about Jinbei, although I'm still confused, I don't see him joining but whatever, oda knows better.

I noticed that there have been a lot of new threads on the main page as of late. Some of the topics were already discussed, so I suggest searching for already existing threads before creating a new one. You can use the advanced search for that purpose.
But of course you are free to discuss anything OP related in this thread ^^.

One thing I wondered. Isn't it different when Law uses Shambles to remove a heart from body as opposed to reattaching a limb? I mean, unless a heart isn't necessary to living, characters are still alive despite having their heart removed. Same when the Marines' limbs and head were removed. I'm not sure if Law's devil fruit ability can give him his limb back, not easily anyway. I can see Law getting his arm back though, one way or another.
Law can't regrow his limbs, he can endlessly manipulate anything within his "room" and operate. Shambles is just a facet of his ability, allowing him to interchange anything within the room, him reattaching his arm would fall under a new move that we've not seen her; an actual operation as he did to the residents of Punk Hazard and Luffy/Jinbei on his submarine/

Re: One Piece Chapter 774 Discussion / 775 Prediction

Diamante's gotta be the next after Ace, Whitebeard and Scarlett to actually die on-screen in One Piece, right? I mean, Kyros is probably going to stab him right trough the chest or something similar.

Edit: I like that One Piece is maturing along with its readers.
Technically Monet and Vergo came next.

Technically, Pell was first to " die ", we all know how it ended up
Until Oda confirms it himself, they're not dead and may appear in a cover story perhaps

Yeah. Well if getting stabbed directly in the heart with no world class heart surgeon nearby (only one would have been Law) is a non fatal wound I will quit OP. Lol. Especially since Monet dying served to show us just how hardcore Doffy's crew is about keeping his secrets. Vergo I'm a little iffy on. I mean he was dismembered and left in an inevitable WMD explosion. I know Pell's situation was strange in and of itself.. the main difference I see here is that Vergo had no immediate rescue nearby that we know of.

Oda structured the scene in a way to make it appear as if Caesar had [fully] stabbed Monet's heart, but in actuality, he only managed to graze the "block of flesh". If you notice the scene of Caesar lying unconscious in the chapter following the one where he attacked Monet's heart, you notice that the item he used as a weapon is lying face up in the ground away from Monet's heart (not lodged inside). Now why would that be the case?

I highly doubt Caesar used the item to stab the "heart", pulled it out and then proceeded to force it into the ground next to the heart before passing out. The most logical explanation is as Caesar forced the item down onto the "block of flesh" containing Monet's heart, it only grazed the side of the "block of flesh" causing the "block of flesh" to slide away and subsequently the item Caesar was using as a weapon ended up being forced into the ground. The "block of flesh" seems to have the quality of being squishy, so it wouldn't be too surprising if the "block of flesh" slid forward as Caesar tried to stab it. As a result the item Caesar used got lodged into the ground as he passed out from exhaustion (and/or his injuries from Luffy).

One also has to wonder, if Oda had intended for Monet's character to die, why not show the weapon Caesar used to attack Monet's heart to be left lodged inside Monet's heart? Why go out of his way to illustrate the weapon stuck in the ground face-up away from her heart as if to convey that the majority of the force in Caesar's strike was absorbed by the ground and not Monet's heart? Oda obviously gave himself an out to avoid killing off a character.

It is extremely apparent that Oda dislikes killing off present time characters, but he still uses the danger of death to drive emotion in the story. Punk Hazard felt serious because of the threat of Shinokuni, but we all seen what happened in the end, the victims of Shinokuni were savable.

Even now in Dressrosa, the danger of Doflamingo in Dressrosa was an emotional driving point in wanting him to be defeated, but with Oda revealing that Princess Mansherry's ability is the Heal Heal Fruit, the threat of death and serious danger has been reduced to zero. None of the citizens on Dressrosa will be killed by the Donquixote Pirates now that Princess Mansherry is free and capable of healing them.

Unless Oda conveys a present time character death through a chapter title or a narration, we cannot be certain that he has killed off a character.

Re: One Piece Chapter 774 Discussion / 775 Prediction

Sorry, I meant enes lobby instead of water 7..

Fishman island was never really a highlight of their capabilities. It was just a show-off arc to illustrate their growth but this would be the serious fight the crew gets into.

Anyways, the point i was trying to make is Oda will take his time covering the mugiwaras, wont go a chapter a fight rate with them.
Are you sure? It doesn't seem like Zoro is taking Pica serious the whole time. Look at his fight in Enies Lobby and his fight now. A swordsfight where Zoro doesn't get cut or something similair is hardly a fight for Zoro.

We are now in the year 2015. The timeskip happened 2010. This means for 5 years we didn't get one single worthy opponent for the SH crew. Even this arc doesn't seem to be anything close to being a worthy opponent for the SH's besides maybe DD. I mean most of the DD crew were taken off by none SH members and the SH's are motly chilling or hesitating to take care of things (yeah I'm talking about Luffy here).

This arc will get even more ridiculous if it gets revealed that Monet and Vergo like Pell survived the explosion. I mean how the hell did Kuina die from falling off the stairs when people can survive exlosives without a scratch?

she didn't die because she fell of the stairs. she was sick, wasn't she? despite that, she "had to" die, so zoro could become that man that he is now :) otherwise he'd still be at that fighting school and prolly be a teacher or a sensei lol. imagine that, boring zoro :P

She fell off the stairs on to her own sword.... the one that her father gave to Zoro.

Well Zoro is not too serious with Pica, but he is still trying to figure out how to beat him, or beating Pica might result in the stones restoring its form or collapsing causing panic, so he is waiting for the right time for it.

Buggy were cutted up and show up some volumes later. So i assume if there is someone found Vergo and Monet before they really die of starvation or crushed, they could be alive.

If Kuina was alive, Oda is a douchebag to make her pretend to be dead in front of Zoro and the father. No, i believe she's dead.

Kuina was born two years after Roger's death (chapter zero), making her one year older than Zoro. According to a SBS, Tashigi is two years older than Zoro.

Making it possiblr for her to be Kuina's long lost sister. (Lol)

Zoro's got a thing for older women ;) *whistles*
