That voice was funny as hell. I appreciate the laugh, but After a while It stops being funny. I thought afterwards that it would've been better if it was a badass voice because the fight between him and Zoro is going to be ruined with some high pitched screams. :lol

Yeah, that is definitely going to undercut the anime version of that fight. I actually forgot about that voice thing until I came to this thread.

LoL, I watch one and skip a few. If I hear that there was a fight or something interesting I check it. Otherwise, I don't watch the anime ^^

The anime is okay for the most part, but they tend to go in excess at times and exaggerate the fight scenes by adding in unnecessary stuff that wasn't in the manga.

While Toei animes tend to have a very low budget, One Piece is a especially bad one. Dunno why.

It's kind of understandable. If an anime is more than 100+ episodes long, and if the animation is high quality, the cost is going to be enormous. So, unless it's something garanteed to return more money than what was spent, the animation and pacing is going to suck. sometimes I think that even the voice actors have a set number of lines each episode and they wont talk more unless payed more. Thus, the long "nothing is happening" moments and the half-hour stare battles.

Not all of it. If you go back and watch the middle part of it you'll see how bad it was sometimes. When they decided to stop Bleach anime the animation became so damn awesome.
As for OP, I was about to say that the reason may be the unique art style, but then I remembered the OP movies.

I agree. But IMO, even if the animation was good, the anime would still be bad because of the pacing. It's horribly slow for my taste.

Not really. Even good mangas like NnT get crappy adaptations, so it's not just OP.
But yeah they should try harder on the animation, if it's possible the quality decreased since the time skip.

Could'nt agree more, (too bad for OP ) the only exception to the rule, to my opinion is Hunter x Hunter 2011, 147 episodes of epic animation, York New Arc is pure awesomeness, probably one of the best shonen adaptation I've seen.

Hunter x Hunter is from MadHouse, not Toei. But One Piece is a bad anime even for Toei standards, despite possibly being their most popular series.

Yes Madhouse is a much better studio in terms of animation quality. I think one of the reasons the anime sucks is obviously the studio who doesn't know how to handle a series like OP and they would need to hire good animators, I think only a few of them remained, so that could explain why the animation quality dropped
There's also the pacing, I think they try too hard at stretching each chapter by coming up with new scenes etc, which ends up with one chapter being split between 2 episodes or more. That is simply too slow, but they prolly fear that otherwise they would catch up on the manga.Still it's much faster to read the chapter.
I think if they fixed the animation problem at least the anime will be appealing again, about the rest I guess they could try to pick up the pace a bit, at the risk of having to come up with more fillers...
