Which one? The top right is LinLin and top left is Kaido.

Not sure if this is Wano, Drake is missing here

Artwork looks nice, too bad the anime doesn't seem to want to have that type of quality.

So you all saw trailer 3 yet of the movie?
Man, just watched it. If Bullet is 100% canon, then I'm hyped to know more. In the trailer he says that he is the only one strong enough to win the tournament or whatever you call it.

I mean, again, if his strength is canon then it'd be like Bullet, who is assumingly the fourth strongest among Roger Pirates, is as strong as or even stronger than Katakuri. Which is insane!

Am I the only one that feels like Oda has not planned as well for part 2 of the series AS WELL as part 1 (as well is the key here, not saying that it sucks)

-SH pirates big power demonstration of their timeskip? Random fishmen. Where luffy had tons of restrictions on his fight and Zoro flat out took the main villian out in the middle of the arc.

-Next is PH which AGAIN had gimmicks that made our heroes not be able to fight at their potential. Also sanji getting cucked hard

-Then came in Dressrosa which, while I do like, came with a horrible pacing and a overabundance of histories (doffy, rebbbeca, kyros, the dwarfs, all of the sh fleet) that only made it last longer WHILE doing away with half of the crew.

-Zou was alright, and built a lot of hype to kaidou, but...

-Came in Whole Cake arc, where Sanji got cuked hard again, where a good amount of chapters and panels were devoted to a sub arc that did nothing (cake) and Sanji got fucked AGAIN and his only power up from all of this is the power of the family that TORTURED HIM (and said power up did not require any effort on his part). While also killing any Zou momentum that Jack made.

-And now the so hyped Wano has been plagued with Power Level inconsistensies, lousy pacing (not as bad as dressrosa, but certanly not up to expctations) and a forced training arc that while necessary, cuts our view of more relevant action.
Also the disrespect of making Linlin choppers Hulk-Pet

Again, i am not saying post time skip sucks, Kata vs Luffy is my fav fight and i cried so hard at Kyros holding his dying love withouth feeling her or her remembering him And at RAIZOU IS SAFE moment.
And we do have the famous setup that Oda is know for

But the general story sure as hell does not feel as tightly made as part 1

On the contrary, I think he has planned a lot. The creativity and the execution, on the other hand, is not the same. Dressrosa is basically Alabasta 2.0. I mean look at the abilities of Doflamingo's henchmen and that of Baroque works. One dude who can explode, another that can alter his weight and a third that can move through the ground. This is what happens when the same brain tells a story for too long. Compare it to Star Wars, where Lucas reintroduced the death star in Return of the Jedi.

The overall structure is good, imo, but the world is so vast at this point that he's going to retread on topics and themes that we've already seen before. Game of thrones, the books, has the exact same issue from time to time. To be fair, there are still some very good concepts like the Vinsmokes and the double agent/cop and robbers theme of Dressrosa arc. Again, the execution and the creativity is what's been lacking unfortunately.

The pacing is lacking, yes, but let's not pretend that Skypie and Ennies lobby didn't take its time either.

Are we still discussing if the black armament truly happens or are only a visual mark for the readers?
Because from this page https://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/784/5
i think it gets pretty clear the blackness is the real thing.
Yes, black armament is the focus of Haki on a single spot, several spots or on the entire body. It is black to distinguish it from regular invisible Haki.
Advanced invisible Haki is presented in form of force field to distinguish it from regular invisible Haki. Also, Hyo showed us Hardening and advanced force field version together. My guess is that is the most powerful combination unless black Hardening wasnt a thing back then when Boa sisters, Rayleigh, Admirals and Sentoumaru used it.

Maybe the release of Haki is also possible without focusing it first and in that case there would be no black Hardening.

Lets say this was possible. Who was supposed to take others down? When you said BMP had to be defeated then it means the entire crew needs to go down.
I think you failed to read what I said purposely.

It was a hypothetical.

A scenario simply made to give a conclusion on what realistically happens if Big Mom somehow ended up fighting the entire SH crew.

You do know that the entire point of IF statements is to focus solely on the set scenario? Not to actually talk about what is happening.

As for you reasoning, if BM couldn't be defeated then Kaido wouldn't be either. That's where you are wrong. It has nothing to do with Kaido being weaker. Both settings are different. BM resided in a territory, where all the people present where allies. The only rebels were, Bege, Germa66, SHs and Fishmen. These groups had no manpower to take down BMP by themselves. If you want to take down a Yonkou you need a mass number of people helping you take them down. Marineford War is a prime example.
It's ironic how hypocritical you are here.

I bring up the entire SH crew in this scenario that was simply stated to say how things play out if things just so happened to be solely between the SH crew and Big Mom alone.

It's like you conveniently forgot that half of them are in Wano when I decided to hypothetically match them up with Big Mom, but you hypocritically are aware that Bege, Germa and Fishmen are there, but don't consider or hypothesise or ask if there's the possibility they have allies after I just conjured Zoro and co. from Wano?

You purposely ignore the fact I presented as simply hypothetical, but then you go on to "factually" staple the conditions? Pulling straw-men bud.

Again, if you were being remotely honest, the point was realistically, they'd lose. The same issue they have with Kaido now is the same issue they'd have in WCI.

Wano is different.
When did I say otherwise? Pulling straw-man after straw-man. Arguing points I never brought up, but answer them as if I brought them up. Intellectual dishonesty once again.

Oda himself said that Wano arc would be comaprable or greater than MW (iirc), not WCI. Then you also brought up the point that if the author wished to, then SHs could have defeated BMP if a similar situtation to Wano happened, such as someone training Luffy etc.. Yes you are right, if certain factors were there then Luffy could have gotten stronger and take on BM, BUT IT DIDN'T! And how do we know this? When the arc started, Oda's editor said that the WCI arc would be an extremely small one. He even gave a time frame as to how long the arc was meant to be. When you brought up the discussion of Luffy defeating BM, there wasn't enough time to do it anyway.
Again, you're twisting things dishonestly again.
  1. You didn't know how long the arc would go. So to use that as basis for what could happen is farcical. An arc that was supposedly what, 50 chapters or less became 80. Clearly, editor notes are not reliable, we've known that for a long time now.
You're in denial of the fact that it has nothing to do with how things played out. It has everything to do with what Oda wanted. If Big Mom was meant to go down that arc, she would have, rather, he had her defeated in a different way that still achieved the desired purpose that he intended.

If Wano arc was the arc that was to play out first with someone captive, could well have played out exactly like WCI.

And if WCI was the arc where Luffy was supposed to take down an Emperor, it could easily be this arc where an Emperor is going to go down definitely.

It's not a matter of whether Luffy's capable, it's a matter of if Oda wants Luffy capable or not.

To say otherwise is to be in denial, and as the theme goes, intellectual dishonesty.

You are the one who claimed that BM used haki to block G4, hence Luffy can beat her.
It's simply common sense. Gear 4th forced Big Mom into using the strongest form of Armament. Only common sense to believe he could damage her.

I however never stated he could simply defeat her, I said he could damage her.

You're lying that I said simply based on what we've seen on Gear 4th, that he'd definitely defeat her.

How convenient to forget all the points I made about power-ups and how Oda would do whatever is necessary to make sure the protagonist won in a fight if it was necessary.

Gave Fujitora's panel as manga fact, gave Lucci vs Luffy fight as another manga fact, and called everyone delusional who disagreed with you.
It's a fact, Fujitora stated that Luffy has the power to take on the Emperors.

Whether he meant now, or potentially, the result is the same.

He's in Wano just 2 weeks after Dressrosa and he's about to defeat an Emperor.

Fujitora was right.

In less than 20 days in the new world, he's gone from Hody to Katakuri. Huge leaps in power.

Luffy has grown exponentially stronger in arcs where he was no match for the opponent.

You're actually trying to argue that the Manga saying something shouldn't' be believed? How ridiculous, then what should be believed if not what the Manga states especially when it's the assessment of an Admiral?

When I brought that up, you said SHs won narratively, NO SHIT SHERLOCK! If "narratively winning" is what your entire point was about, then you should have said so. Then let me make a statement as well, Luffy will become PK, I mean narratively he should right? Like how Naruto became the hokage.
Mind you, huge difference in saying win from a narrative stand-point and become Pirate King. What you don't seem to understand is
  1. We were talking about an on-going arc where we were stating the outcome that must happen for the intended result.
  2. Not simply what will happen eventually.
Seems you don't quite grasp the nuance. I'll make it abundantly clear here if you didn't get it previously. Luffy becoming Pirate King is not why he won, if Oda wanted Luffy to become Pirate King 10-20 years later, he can lose all the fights he wants until it's time. What you failed to grasp was that currently, given the story arc and the context and need for plot progression, he had to win or come out the victor for the reasons I pointed out.

He won, that's simply a fact. And the reasons I stated he'd win was why he won because those reasons became relevant.

Let's go to the things I said when the WCI was playing out.

More or less Big Mom will be defeated because it's necessary in relation to the Reverie, Morgan's presence and I said if he didn't defeat her physically, he'll leave WCI in a way that makes him seen as a threat, thus why he ended up with a 1.5b bounty and 5th Emperor claims.
Talking about plot-progression, not simply Luffy wins because, or Big Mom wins because YONKO as is the famous mantra and circular logic.
Again, speaking from a narrative perspective.
Talking about why it was necessary for a victory using foresight relating to plot progression once again bud.

If you need to rely on chicanery just to make your argument seem credible, evidence is here.

We never called Fuji a liar, we always thought of his words describing Luffy's potential.
Sure you weren't. He was just talking nonsense and the panel was useless. There absolutely was no meaning in bringing up that panel in regard to his strength, and the fact that we know Luffy can get stronger simply if plot requires it.

I am not being dishonest to anyone or myself as you have claimed. Editor said 50 chapters or less, and I believe it because he got the information from Oda. However, it is true that it extended to 80 because the initial estimation was off. As you write a story, various new ideas pop up, resulting in extra chapters but the overall concept stays the same.
If Big Mom was meant to go down that arc, she would have, rather, he had her defeated in a different way that still achieved the desired purpose that he intended.

when we had this conversation about Luffy defeating Luffy, it was obvious that the arc was about to end. there was no plot to explore. that is how a story works. they completed all their objective and was on the run.
It's simply common sense. Gear 4th forced Big Mom into using the strongest form of Armament. Only common sense to believe he could damage her.

How do you expect that Luffy defeats BM,
You have no proof that he can't defeat Big Mom.
This is what you replied to nik87 when he said Luffy cannot defeat BM. If your claim was that Luffy can damage her but not defeat her then you should have made it clearer.
Whether he meant now, or potentially, the result is the same.
So past, present and future is the same? So if Fujitora said Luffy has the strength to back it up in Alabasta that means its true? Fujitora was clearly speaking about his future strength. He will have no idea that Luffy will get to Yonko strength in 20+ days.
You're actually trying to argue that the Manga saying something shouldn't' be believed? How ridiculous, then what should be believed if not what the Manga states especially when it's the assessment of an Admiral?
If we go by what the characters say, then does that mean Pica was strong enough to crush both navy and pirates on his own? A group that consists of Luffy, Zoro, Law, Fujitora, and Sabo. It doesn't make sense. I would have said the same thing back then but I would never have had manga facts to back it up.
Maybe you should learn that what characters say isn't always straight from the mouth of Oda.
Sure you weren't. He was just talking nonsense and the panel was useless. There absolutely was no meaning in bringing up that panel in regard to his strength, and the fact that we know Luffy can get stronger simply if plot requires it.
Just like what Pica said was useless, other panels can be useless as well. However, I am not calling Fuji's panel useless. You misunderstood that panel.
Mind you, huge difference in saying win from a narrative stand-point and become Pirate King. What you don't seem to understand is

And this. You gave many reasons as to why SHs need to be the victor here. I don't disagree. And like i said, every MC gains something out of every arc. The basic premise is the same. All you did was delve deep into it. Let me give you another example, SHs need to be the victor in Wano because of Kaido's and Orochi's tyranny. This is all you do, and we know this because we also follow the plot.

Maybe you don't remember, but you said if Luffy cannot defeat BM then beating Kaido isn't possible. I already gave you the reason. Read my post.
Nope, what I said was if Luffy cannot be expected to defeat Big Mom, he shouldn't be expected to defeat Kaido.

Again, you clearly are terribly misinformed or fail to read properly.

It's logically crippling for one to say Big Mom shouldn't and can't be defeated, but Kaido who is hailed as this indestructible force will be defeated in a week or 2? Great logic bud.

You're terribly dishonest, lol.

The editors have not been reliable, nonetheless, that's not evidence of anything.

The story is what is evidence for anything.

All you can do is make excuses.

You probably doubted the wedding would even take place since you want to blame the editors for saying 50 chapters.

Forget about trying to use one's ability to think and read the story to make insights and understand the story, lazily blame the editors. How convenient.

however he didn't and we knew that. but you didn't. that's why you are in denial. i have no reason to be in denial because i was right.
No, you weren't right.

Your insight was poor.

Only one here in denial is you.

Big Mom wasn't defeated because Oda took her out the story, that much is clear from her screaming cake the majority of the arc.

You gave no good reasons and nothing related to the story as far as I'm aware. You said nothing that had any insight whatsoever other than "she's a yonko".

This is what you replied to nik87 when he said Luffy cannot defeat BM. If your claim was that Luffy can damage her but not defeat her then you should have made it clearer.
Just requires being able to read what's said properly'; only thing you've done is misread ironically.

The very minimum requirement necessary to defeat an opponent is to be able to hurt them.

Point at the end of the day is the banal reasoning you use to justify why she can't be defeated is silly for this reason:
  • If it were true, then Kaido couldn't be defeated either because it's the same conditions in Wano.

Power-ups would have to not be a thing in arcs for him or you to be true, but it's not.

Maybe you should learn that what characters say isn't always straight from the mouth of Oda.
Just like what Pica said was useless, other panels can be useless as well. However, I am not calling Fuji's panel useless. You misunderstood that panel.
Maybe you need to learn to read between the lines because Pica's point was more to do with the fact his ability could engulf and crush everyone in it because he more or less could manipulate huge plots of Dressrosa. It wouldn't have been difficult to crush pirates and soldiers with such a powerful ability.

Again, requires reading between the lines and using context which your statements seem to severely lack in.

And this. You gave many reasons as to why SHs need to be the victor here. I don't disagree. And like i said, every MC gains something out of every arc. The basic premise is the same. This is all you do, and we know this because we also follow the plot.
If you knew that, you'd have come to the same conclusion in WCI, but you didn't. You didn't have that much insight other than "Big Mom is an Emperor, Emperors are invincible" and such drivel.

Oda's reasoning for not defeating Big Mom has nothing to do with strength, he simply has new plans for her. If your logic was right, like I said, then your logic would apply to Kaido who is far sturdier than Big Mom and should therefore mean Luffy will fail regardless of the necessity for the plot.
