Roger was dead the year after Oden returned to Wano.

It's an isolated country, so no word of what was happening could get out. Couldn't Oden leave or send word to Whitebeard? He most definitely could but it's one of those things where I personally feel Oda had already come up with an ending and then had to work backwards, maybe. Because of Whitebeard had shown up at the time with his forces, Kaido wouldn't have stood a chance. But for the story to advance to where we are now, it demanded that there be no intervention.

Devil fruits get respawned elsewhere when the user dies (read Punk Hazard ch676, where Smiley dies there and you immediately see the fruit regenerate nearby)but we don't know the mechanics behind it nor where the fruits themselves originate from.

Yeah, I remembered the respawn stuff but is like a general location or random? Was a clue ever given on how they're found? Or the state they're in when they're first found?

wondering how much Teach was influenced by Oden... they were there together even if it was briefly.... I think atleast some of teach's actions are related to things learned from during Oden's time.

Teach probably learned a few things, but since he didn't depart with Oden to Roger's ship, I'm thinking he missed out on the more important findings that he may have needed.

Oh yea, i dont mean BB learned everything about what Oden's learned, but something about reading the poneglyphs or the texts.... or atleast one specific one.. something that'll explain his inspirations.

Magellan got some scars on his face after the time-skip. I thought this was from his fight with Ivankov, which left that part of his face bleeding.

But that's not the case. At the end of the war, Brannew informs Sengoku that Magellan nearly died fighting the remaining prisoners trying to espace from Level 6.

I started to read one piece again from the beginning. God what an awesome master piece. Currently at volume 32. Alabasta and Skypia are amazing to read again. But I have to admit that Luffy got immensely strong plot armor against Crocodile and Enel, but still amazing fights though.

Enel is so overpowered with his observation Haki and his fruit. Can definitely see him making a come back and with a lot of training he would be admiral material. We had a 2 years time skip. Hope Oda will bring him back somehow.

I just noticed this now...

This is also the likely reason as to how Mr. 2 could escape.

Magellan just couldn't bother to properly deal with him anymore as Level 6 was breaking out.

That's what I meant when I said Wano lacked villains. King, Jack, Fukurokujo and the other Oniwaban, Speed, Dobon, Daifugo and Solitaire don't even appear on that list. And apparently neither does Drake.

Honestly Oda should have cut Kawamatsu and Kikunojo and focused more on the villains, especially a less shallow Kanjuro.

I don't really see what these two have added to the story so far and the 7 Red Scabbards still sounds pretty good.

That way Wano arc would have maybe been a bit less boring but maybe it is also fine because things have changed now because we finally get villains and interesting plot twists (Kaido's son) and I am really excited for the following chapters.

Stopped reading manga in mid of whole cake island arc.

I havent watched the anime for a while, but seemingly, from what ive heard quality is way better recently (especially starting wano arc, @lakhan220 will be able to tell you more than me) i would definitely recommend you to resume the manga though, things ar getting so better after whole cake, definitely one of the best shonen. (would recommend you, btw HxH too : the BEST shonen, no wait the best manga ! )

Other than the Oden flashback, Wano arc is pretty good.

And then it's really "other than half of the Oden flashback". Once he got back to Wano it collapsed. But prior to that, it was fine. Maybe too many chapters showing him gathering his scabbards, but I can understand that. The stuff after he got back though...not so good.

Haha as much as i love Op and consider it as probably one of the greatest manga ever written, nothing so far can surpass HxH in my heart, (both manga and anime 2011) togashi is a pure genius especially when it comes to chara devlopement.

100% agree. HxH was a different kind of genius. Everything from Character to development to awesome fight scenes. I just want it to come back

Dressrosa had an awful pacing in anime. The bet part would be doffy vs luffy & law. And for further parts, its pacing is almost similar. So, don't think u would get interested much except for few episodes where there r hype moments in manga. kata vs luffy
WANO is different altogether, the animation has been way better and pacing is also quite decent. Defo , u shld watch wano arc.
As for manga,
Wano part 1- decent (had its ups and downs)
reverie- awesome
Wano part 2 - had its ups and down. But , if u r looking for specific characters, can be better.
Final war part has started and so far, it is gradually getting better.

Basically, u will get quite the hype moments here and there in every parts and also will have its lows too. As for reading, definitely worth reading it .

Almost everyone here is in Wano, except BB, Shanks, Aokiji, Mingo and Akainu.... once the arc ends, supernovas would be on TOP and the new age would have surely started, is this foreshadowing on Oda's part?
