I don't think anyone has mentioned it before but I had known they came from different directions since Shanks uses his left arm while Roger uses his right arm.

That's another good example of this type of mechanic. Honestly we haven't even had much rationale given for why some sword techniques have different names when they are essentially the same thing by the same person too. Like Zoro has so many variations of the same exact move. Wish Oda went into a little bit more detail about this so we can get more dynamic sword fights.
Shanks uses his right arm but it's a slash that across his body. Like he gathers up energy with the sword in his right hand but starting position with the sword across the left side of his body....

Roger's slash is wide-right.

Oh shit this whole time I thought he'd lost his right arm and used his left since they said he'd lost his dominant arm. Guess he was left handed 😅 .

I do see what you mean but might just be preference in how they slash with their swords. Shanks motion definitely seems more natural, especially for a sword. Rogers motion honestly feels awkward and is what I'd expect for a blunt object like a bat or club where you start top right so the slight downward motion helps with the weight.

If you notice seems Roger did a similar motion when he clashed with WB a few panels later too. And since he did it two handed then it looks like he's literally batting a pitch.

Yeah Roger's sword technique does seem awkward. Then again Shanks' motion doesn't really make sense if you're fighting cause the split second to wind up across his body could be just enough time for an enemy to strike first.

I don't think it was said that he lost his dominant arm. I'm guessing you're referring to when Mihawk said he has no interest in fighting a one-armed guy anymore?

I think Shanks motion in his use also had him start the attack by drawing his sword, so if he is using it like a draw technique the speed would be so fast that I think he'd be okay. Think of Zoro's Lion's Song technique which always requires to start from a drawing motion but its also one of his strongest techniques.

Hm I believe Shanks lost his dominant arm because his sword used to be carried on his right side while he still had both arms. And usually the sword should be on the opposite side to your dominant arm so in his case would have been the left. Him losing his left arm actually means it was a bigger hit to his ability too.

You can compare that to Roger who has his hilt on the other side. Same with Oden. Interestingly enough I think Rayleigh is also left handed since carries his sword on the right.

Some people say that Imu's voice was done like that to hide the VA. I really don't think that's the reason. After all, Luffy's voice is a female voice. I honestly think it's like that because they are a demon.
I always thought it was obvious Imu was going to have a gender neutral voice.

The latest episode definitely reinforces my belief that Imu is the literal "devil" of the devil fruits. Even the attack that hit Cobra / Sabo resembles the devil's pointed tail. Also, Sabo said "I never thought I'd find Hell on top of the world." So between the pentagrams summoning the Demonic elders to Sabo's comment about Hell on top of the world, to Imu's ability to seemingly extend and end the lives of the Gorosei, I think we're dealing with some kind of version of the Devil here.

I'm team BB will proceed to take Wano. (Or Fishman Island, but I'm leaning Wano). Then the remaining ancient weapon finds it's way to Luffy. Then the end game trifecta Luffy-BB-Imu all have and Ancient Weapon.

Would make sense then if that's primarily why Oda had Yamato in Wano, using that tree branch Admiral as an excuse for that. That could prob lead into Straw Hats vs. Blackbeard Pirates, with Yamato having struggled against Blackbeard and teaming up with Luffy to eventually defeat him.

As for Shirahoshi, I think it would be quite a struggle for someone to actually control her and use her power. On the other hand, she still may get kidnapped and lead into Shyarly's vision.

This sounds exactly right. Due to how Wano is protected and the implications surrounding Pluton's power, I feel BB may kidnap Shirohoshi. They'll have her, but will be unable to fully utilize her.

There's also the fact that accessing Pluton may require Wano to open its borders and Zunesha seems to be a key aspect of that.

Opening Wano’s borders earlier than expected would be an interesting development.

Blackbeard’s quake power + Pizarro’s island power + the others’ muscle could be enough.

Blackbeard definitely could destroy the walls of Wano on his own.

Right. So I’m guessing it could be around 10 chapters before we see the continuation of Caribou’s visit. I recall it was 8 chapters into Egghead before Oda switched to Law vs. Blackbeard, so assuming Oda will switch out in this arc as well, I imagine we’ll be seeing more results from that sooner rather than later.

So Luffy has Shirahoshi, Blackbeard has Pluton, and Imu has Uranus?

I actually feel like Shirahoshi would be a difficult weapon to utilize against her will. Previously when she's freaked out a bunch of giant ass Sea Kings have shown up. I could just picture a situation where Blackbeard has her on a ship, distressed, and Sea Kings sink the ship. IIRC even the Marines have to avoid Sea Kings with sea-stone coating under their ships to avoid being sunk in the calm belt. So I definitely think he's more likely to go after Pluton. Also just due to being in the New World and Hachinosu seemingly being in the latter half of the New World, it would make more sense to go there to Wano since it'd likely be closer or on the way to Fishman Island. I kind of wonder if this is where Yamato's cover story is headed - seeing pirates show up on Wano.

BB has the means to utilize shirahoshi. Laffitte's hypnosis has been a low key but significant plot point in the past.

My line of thinking is that Pluton would potentially give Blackbeard a severe advantage given its supposed Island Destroying capabilities. Maybe it'll require something else to function, but that still feels like too much power on BB's end.

With Shirohoshi, her being unwilling to assist BB would be the point. He has the weapon, but we'd know for sure he'd be unable to make full use of her, at least, not immediately. Not only that, but she's invading Fishman Island seems like it'd be more up Blackbeard's alley as it's an easier target than Wano.

I also don't think Wano's borders could be destroyed by Blackbeard's ability, personally. Again, it's implied Zunesha is required for that and I doubt Oda would set up that plot point and not follow through, especially since it relates to Joyboy and the Void Century. I also don't think Oda would have Momo and Yamato fail at protecting Wano after he made a bid deal about "passing the torch" to them.

This goes bit to crackpot side of things, but what if BBs reaction to Carbous information is "Wow, cool bro. So that's where the other 2 are. Welp, does not matter - my plan to take the third one is already in motion. Zehahaha".

So will skip the controlling Shirahoshi and Momo failing his torchbearing. Because the plan to get to join the WG is ultimately the plan to get Uranus.

BB's card in that regard was saturn but he in turn died and his position was taken over by garling. With saturn's death and his replacement being summarily picked the utility of the clone should be much reduced going forward. It's not going to be useful in fooling the gorosei. I am thinking the clone thing will be most useful in quickly infiltrating the gorosei while catching it's security off guard but it sounds like a stretch that this could get as far as stealing uranus.

Maybe. I don't believe we've seen that utilized much though. It was also only utilized on very low level soldiers IIRC?

I remember it being used once (off screen) on unnamed guards of the Gate of Justice, in order to have them open the gates for any vessel approaching it. This way BB’s crew could reach and leave Impel Down as well as Marineford by ship.
There was even a gag moment with buggy praying and the gates opening eventually as buggy was praying on and on.
This was at the beginning of the Marineford War arc.
Lafitte explained it later when the BB Pirates entered the fray.

Yeah, it's been only once. Shirahoshi is pretty much just a little girl, she has no training and perhaps not even disposition for fighting.
