Can’t wait to see how much performance Jinbe gets as part of Luffy’s top musclemen once he inevitably gets freed from the vines.

I get wanting to preserve the aspect of Luffy’s hot chicken wings. Sanji and Zoro were Luffy’s top musclehead sidekicks, but now he has Jinbe, and I’m glad he’s able to support him on the frontlines like he did at Marineford.

Any far flung hopes people wish to see in the series next year?

I'm personally hoping we see the Blackbeard Pirates pop off seriously to truly establish their threat.
Progress on Yamato's nakama recruitment.

Also, Vivi coming back to the crew.

The Anime really highlights things that otherwise may not get much attention. Really awesome episode today.

The giant robot appeared in Mariejoa 200 years ago, and Saturn secretly had it moved to Egghead to be researched. He probably thought by investigating the robot, they'd find the secret to a power source like the motherflame. Ironically, It's "coincidence" that this robot just happened to end up at a place where Luffy (the current Joyboy) will need its help - goes to show the theme of fate and lucky coincidence continues to occur as should be expected.

Another is the fact that now, it's not just Pirates going after the One Piece, the Navy (Sword especially), the Revolutionary Army, other groups will be going after the One Piece too. Becoming Pirate King became a whole lot harder.

Imu's identity is unknown even among other Celestial Dragons. He's a secret entity which is why Joker (a Celestial Dragon) was going to be killed for having this knowledge on top of the fact he's really the secret king of the world.
Vegapunk said something quite interesting to Dragon which was... don't mistake your target. I'm pretty such the flashback was referring to VP implying the Navy isn't bad, that the real issue is the leadership. I also wouldn't be surprised if Imu somehow also has the Celestial Dragons as hostage - it could be that Imu isn't even Human to begin with and the CDs are just a cover for his rulership - not thought it out fully, so just whimsical suppositions.

Then Saturn got killed by Imu in front of the other Vice Admirals. Doberman got attacked by Saturn for asking if Vegapunk's message was true. Saturn died a very creepy death which caused the VAs to all scream in shock and fear. They might also start to question the WG because everything that has happened just wouldn't make any sense. Interested to see how these VAs will develop.
Saturn made so many blunders even correcting Doberman who said allowing the SHs to escape was the blunder, Saturn foolishly said the broadcast was the real blunder which may give the VAs more cause for concern. We might be having some defections or secret investigations by Navy soldiers to find the truth. They might be more interested to find the One Piece as well not just because the WG may order it, but to know the truth that VP was speaking of.

Vegapunk's death was pretty peak too. Dude erased his memory and wrote a letter to himself to allow himself to die. And he went ahead. The amount of self-trust is insane, lol.

Also funny that the WG/Imu's reign is being torn down predominantly by 3 people:
  • Monkey D. Garp who is protecting and influencing the WG from the inside.
  • Monkey D. Dragon who leads the RA to influence the other nations from outside the WG.
  • Monkey D. Luffy who is leading the charge.
And as they're all going for the One Piece now, I can expect this is what may also push Luffy and Dragon (the RA) to collab, and I'm sure Sabo will be involved somehow. Awesome conclusion to the arc in the anime.

I know it doesn't need to be explained but I've always been super curious as to how Doffy acquired all the forbidden knowledge he has. As far as we know, he was a regular Celestial Dragon like all the other dorks that aren't in the know about Imu. And unlike Shanks, the family he was from isn't some presitigious order that would allow him to be welcomed back to Mariejoa- kinda explicitly the opposite for him. So... how did Doffy leverage his connections to learn about Imu/the "National Treasure"/etc.? I know it can be handwaved as "underworld stuff" but him knowing about those things specifically seemed tied to his status as an ex-Celestial Dragon

I wonder if he got an inroad into Celestial Dragon gossip with his slave auction house business. He was the openly-pirate purveyor of the auction house and CDs were a primary customer.

It makes think that CDs/Gorosei are dumb for not hiring DD as a God’s Knight. He would’ve made a fine addition.

Akainu and Dragon. Or Blackbeard and Buggy.

Luffy and Shanks. Or Buggy and Shanks. Or Blackbeard and Shanks. Somebody is meeting Shanks.
Buggy and BB have crossed paths.

Urouge and Shanks 😆

But seriously I bet one of those is Urouge.

CG to do something big and unexpected.

Garling to destroy those fraud allegations.

Enel to make his return.

I'll second all three of those. I love how much "Enel returns" has evolved over the last decade of fandom. It went from the dumbest, most absurd thing to randomly predict to... imho it's only a matter of time before the moon is involved in the story somehow, and/or Enel descends from space with plot-relevant moon people technology or something.

Wtf is the endgame with Cross Guild I wonder? They can't just stay a marine-bounty service in the post-story, I assume. Obviously Buggy will be Pirate King by then, so they won't have to do that. But all those swarms of criminals have to be pointed in *some* direction, y'know

Oh you have no idea how gratifying that's going to be for me since I've believed that since we saw the 2 mural in his cover story back at chapter 470. After Robin's backstory being ancient times I just knew it going to come up.

They are going to be the foundation for something in the New Dawn, but it's hard to say what exactly that is. Right now, however, they are just the vehicle to get Buggy to Raftel alongside Shanks. We really need that Void Century flashback pronto.

Garling to destroy those fraud allegations.
I wouldn't say he's going to destroy them, but I expect him to push back just a tad.

Yeah, Garling is a fraud like how Kaido was a fraud in being the strongest creature.

IIRC, he saw Imu when he returned to Mariejoa after he killed his father. He thought they'd accept him.
Somehow, it seems he caught a glimpse of Imu, so much that they went on a hunt for him. If he'd just heard about Imu, I don't think that would have been enough for him to believe what could be excused as fiction, so we'd need a different scenario.
He knew that if he was able to use the Ope Ope no mi (I assume the personality swap with Imu), he'd become the king of the world.
I'd imagine like Sabo, or at least a scenario similar to that, he saw the Gorosei kneeling down to Imu, and then he realised what was going on. And that's what he's been using to leverage his position as a warlord.

Nah, all we know about his attempt to return to Mariejoa is just that- an attempt to return. We don't even know if he got to the front gate, much less somehow the Flower Room or catching the Gorosei with their pants down at the not-so-Empty Throne. And even if he did see Imu... "use the Ope Ope to swap minds with the shadow monster the Gorosei kneel to" is such a wacky series of assumptions to make for a guy who acts like he has absolute knowledge of what everything entails. He has to have insider knowledge that he himself couldn't possibly have had access to. He's not Rocks or Lafitte or something.

I do agree that his knowledge of the "national treasure" is the leverage he used to position himself as a Warlord- there's not really any other explanation, I imagine his status as former-CD would put a target on his back otherwise. He had to stay in the shadows most of his life though building his gang's influence in the underworld so I think his knowledge came from the underworld and not some spy mission to Mariejoa. He's just not built like that.

Shanks and Buggy both had to pretend to be something they're not.

Buggy is "fake it til' you make it" and Shanks is "fake it becuz you made it"

Chapter 760, he states he did indeed return to Mariejoa.

Wapol also caught a glimpse of Imu, so it's not farfetched that a small kid like Joker also could have ended up in such circumstances assuming he did enter Mariejoa

The reality is there's also no way to know about Imu without being in Mariejois, so by simple deduction, he must have gotten into Mariejoa one way or the other to have seen Imu. You can't know about a National Treasure that important without being in Mariejoa. And as you said, he's not Rocks who had been passed on knowledge from generation to generation.

They also wanted to kill him, so it's possible he was lured into Mariejoa, they got the head of Homing and then were going to kill him after that to set an example.

As for the Ope Ope no Mi, looks like he didn't mean to use it as a kid himself. The immortality powers requires the fruit being in the hands of someone else to be of benefit to Joker.

Doflamingo explained what happened. He went to Mary Geoise with his father's head, but even so he was rejected. Then somehow he discovered about the National Treasure of Mary Geoise, which the Celestial Dragons decided to kill him at all cost, but he managed to escape.

I wonder if he had some help. It seems too much for a child to accomplish alone, but at the same time, Doflamingo was capable of incredible feats even as a child.

oh yeah forgot about the bringing his head part.

you kinda contradict yourself here. i was referring more to Rocks magically teleporting into the Flower Room but i suppose he knew about that because of his clan. either way he was a grown man and arguably the strongest single person in the world at the time so he gets a pass. child doffy just kinda... wandering around? running for his life away from mariejoa?

If they wanted to kill him, letting doffy slip away but also somehow get critical knowledge of the "national treasure" is a legendary blunder. if anybody is well-connected enough to learn about the national treasure from outside means, it's doffy and his obsession with wrecking the WG. i still don't think he somehow learned this information when he was presumably being hunted down "at Mariejoa" (however even far into the territory that implies)

Wapol and Sabo only saw anything because of Cobra's audience, it was kind of a unique situation.

Not really, it proves that if they're not paying attention, anyone can get a glimpse of Imu. It's not at all a unique situation. Even Bonney has escaped from Akainu. Of course luck is required, but it's not like it's such a unique unprecedented thing.

My money is on Dragon & Shanks.....its the last part of the puzzle.

They meet MariJoise is going down. Shanks is the last part of knowledge the RA needs. RA is the spark Shanks needs to over throw his blood family.

It's rather far-fetched but I can see "Those two run into each other as well!!" Being Loki and Lola. Since it's still a dangling plot thread, and don't know where she and her family after their cover story.
Plus we'd find out how they met and I'd rather that not be answered in a SBS (cough cough Zoro/Franky lineage cough cough)
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

And now that I'm thinking about Lola I'd also like for Mother Caramel's deception to be revealed before we leave the island. She's still highly respected by the Giants and if it were revealed they could possibly pull the Giants from the Marines.

And I'd like to know where Kidd during all of this. Since his retirement party was close by I would just like to know how retirement's going so far lol.

These are just two things that have been in the back of my mind this whole arc.
