They will show up in Davy Jones's Locker later on when Blackbeard takes center stage. I think there's a hidden reason there's no current examples of a DF user drowning. In fact, there's two solid examples of the sea inexplicably spitting out TWO DF users: Luffy and Big Mom. Both made absolutely no sense they could've survived unless the sea itself spit them out.

I wasn't thinking about their immobility I was just thinking about them not drowning part. At least that's what I thought you were talking about.

As for the reference to chapter 2 he was in a barrel that got fished out by coby so technically it was never in the water.

I'm not sure I understand, sea water and rain water have the exact same effect on DF users. They are immobilized by and can drown in both, there is no distinction

Yes, it was treated as a gag at the time but given the Shanks's arm retcon, I wouldn't put it past Oda to retcon in significance to Luffy miraculously escaping that whirlpool. "A barrel did it" works perfectly fine for the time it was written, now? With all this mythological-it's-all-fate-and-gods stuff, it's worth another squint.

As for the Davy Jones locker, since the Davy Jones locker is about the bottom of the ocean that wouldn't really apply too to freshwater examples you used of Big Mom and Luffy. At least that's where my head was.

A little late, but I'm truly sorry that you went through that.

Given Oda's fascination with robots and stuff, I have to imagine that, if/when we actually see the Rocket Punch, it'll be one of the strongest attacks in the series, lol. Probably on the level of Hakai, if not greater.

That's true. I wonder of it's just a martial concept Oda is pulling from or if he plans to further that idea all around. Devil Fruits could also be viewed through a similar lense of "storing" those desires/abilities.

I was just rereading Dressrosa arc, what if the Drill Kick Sai achieved during the final fight was actually Conquerers Haki imbued into his kick? When he landed the kick on G there was Blue Lightning and the ground shattered..
I would further argue that the fact that Don Chinjao used to battle prime Garp, who was a well known CoC puncher in his days so them clashing as know CoC, would solidify this assumption…
All in all
Sai achieved a level which we haven’t truly discovered during that time and by looking back with the knowledge we have now, its safe to say that Sai possesses CoC and imbues his kicks with it…
Another prediction, the way on how Oda portrayed Doffy, he would fit the ranks of a Holy Knight tremendously well!!! The last time we saw him, he was saying something along the lines of,, they are coming after me‘‘
So what if those who came down to Imple Down were actually Holy Knights freeing Doffy and offering him a spot as a Knight of God!
why Doffy makes sense:
-he is basically IMU jr by plotting everything like Imu..
-he sees everyone below him..
-he is CoC user, the only ability the Knights lack!
-Imu was trying to recruit another chained man on Elbaph, so why not try recruiting another chained outlaw?
-Oda has his way on reintroducing old foes in an updated version, Lucci from CP9 to CP0 with an awakened Zoan, Crocodile from an weakass Shichibukai to a Yonko caliber mind, so why not bring back a fan favourite, Mista Cruelty Doflamingo!!??
Hence my prediction, Doffy is getting a promotion and will be a member of the Holy Knights! Since Imu is about to lose some of then on Elbaph, he will be in need of backup and Doffy is one of its kind to fulfill that spot!!

I've been seeing articles about GRRM saying he'll probably never finish his series and doesn't have any plans for what happens if he dies...

Not to sound like a selfish asshole, but man, I hope Oda at least has the story finished.

I hope they're both able to finish their stories. As they get older, once again, not to sound like a selfish asshole, but maybe a little quicker before they really can't do the job anymore.

Seems like the biggest factor that would motivate Loki to join the Straw Hats is revenge against Imu, but I don’t think Oda would go for that. Revenge isn’t really something that he’d use for a Straw Hat’s dream.
